"with my hashrate I pull approx .01 btc in 24 hours if good blocks are found. Uno suffers from low hashrate I gather so I am wondering why I would mine UNO directly instead of btc and buy UNO."

I also want to know the answer.

Yes, B.C.! Death to the Cryptsy Wallet!

Bitcoin on the way down for 12 months+ , Uno on the way up for 6 months+
Soon they going to cross. Bitcoin needs to be converted to not risk loosing, Uno can be left relatively unattended - that's the difference.

Don't know, maybe someone else has an even better answer.

Cracked the superwallet! Here we go. When it's empty or close to it we are going to the moon and never come back  Cool

with my hashrate I pull approx .01 btc in 24 hours if good blocks are found. Uno suffers from low hashrate I gather so I am wondering why I would mine UNO directly instead of btc and buy UNO.

Ideally you mine it and buy it at the same time. These prices could be gone for good soon. It's not going to become more pletiful than it is right now.  Wink

ix and io is different story. Ix is premined and io never had much interest let alone community support.
But i see your points.
Right now it's all good but let's be awake and on guard at all times.
I'd say getting it ready for the flip of a switch is a very good idea in case things don't exactly pan out as expected.
Please test and all but let's be alert.

All good. I think i maybe had a little overreaction on getting a date for 'minimum delay' instead of a date for 'latest implementation'.

Will be good to hear it's flip-switch-ready  Wink

All good.

@BN
until next year is too long.

Why push it off so far?

From my angle security is top priority.

If price and hash is double or tripple next month that's maybe a different story then.

A better network provides for confidence to sink money into it. I'm all for merged mining. Low hash always has you worry. Don't say it isn't important! Price will take a jump as soon it's implemented.
A store of value needs to be secure, that's just logical.

Count all merchants that accept any altcoin. Compare number to merchants that accept Bitcoin.
End of story.

~Lauda out.

yes, end of story, goodbye.

(Not even going to discuss merchant adoption and coinpayments here)
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is no.2 Sha256-network after Bitcoin? on: January 05, 2015, 06:28:53 PM

No altcoin is worth anything, it's just an illusion.

Can you explain why bitcoin is not an illusion while you claim Litecoin, Dogecoin, Uno, QRK, PPC, drk, etc would be one?
What makes bitcoin no illusion which at the same time does make alts one?
Wouldn't this mean alts are in general without sense?
Do you think people would want to use bitcoin if there wasn't a choice to it?

I think your viewpoint needs an update.
If you were right you could expect crypto to not exist 3 years from now as there would be no sense in developement and an evolving process.
We could also abandon the word "cryptocurrency" as it would make no sense because in reality it is only "bitcoin".

You say "cryptocurrency" is a myth and only "bitcoin" exists?

Is ripple an illusion too? Nxt too? Maidsafe is also an illusion? And ethereum will also be an illusion as only bitcoin is 'real'?

Sounds like BS to me. And that claim stands there pretty detached from anything. Just a claim and nothing to back it up so far.
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is no.2 Sha256-network after Bitcoin? on: January 05, 2015, 12:43:17 PM
But who's that guy with the 46000 Coins?? - See the richlist!
Is this a burning adress?
Or is it a a lucky guy wating to dump?  Undecided

that's cryptsy coldstorage. I think most what's in one account should be  around 10k.
All those coins have been mined for or even more likely bought at the market since there's no premine and no other bounties.

We constantly tell people to not store coins at the exchange but some just don't listen.  Roll Eyes

Another useless altcoin, move on.

so bitcoin is useless too?
After all Uno is a better store of value than the big ones. I been in uno since last summer and i'm pretty happy with it. It's on a nice longterm rise.

so only 250.000 coins? if no inflation its good for investment

you won't see the maximum reached in your lifetime. It's 193k now and i think at 200k or something around that minimum subsidy takes place wich means inflation will be extremely tiny. (Maybe we see 205k or 210k mined in our lifetimes, need to do the exact numbers yourselves)
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is no.2 Sha256-network after Bitcoin? on: January 04, 2015, 11:45:48 PM
but it will have a BIGGER price.

tehe

500 million cap which i imagine can be achieved ... guess the price for 1 Uno at 500 mil cap ...

2600$

you want to hold at least a few for longterm just in case ...
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 04, 2015, 11:25:18 PM
we need more fiat-exchanges , i don't want to trade against bitcoin much longer.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 04, 2015, 11:05:18 PM
tit, wank
I have a TON of respect for people in this community, including BitcoinNational, SirSmokesAlot, etc., despite occasionally speaking my mind, hypothetically for the greater good of the community.

Your placement of these 2 cryptos on your list may be perfectly rational and fair, but, (unless they are both successful networks being used in industry (porn??)), I just don't think they should be mentioned at all.  It makes us look bad having that in a discussion.  Lacks class.  How will serious investors take us seriously?  I mean really?

There already has been a SexCoin crypto long before those 2, anyway.  Apparently, prostitutes prefer BTC, the rumor goes.

How could tit and wank be anything but embarrassing scams in the greater cryptocurrency community?  They should simply be ignored.

-

Sorry, but just had to be said.  Not too many people are in the UNO community right now.  Let's be ready to welcome them when they arrive.  Thanks.

+1

let's keep focus

all this mining shenangians can't be discussed in this volatility. Let's talk about it as soon the dust settles.
Right now it's an earthquake. It don't think productive discussion is so easy right now as everything is shaking.

You could wake up to 100$ uno tomorrow, who knows?
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is no.2 Sha256-network after Bitcoin? on: January 04, 2015, 10:18:31 PM
i think Uno and IXC both should be part of any portfolio
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 04, 2015, 01:42:22 PM
and now BTC bites the dust.

#protip
Use leftover BTC (what hasn't been dumped by now) for Uno instead of dumping into the sea of red.

currently we break below previous ATH - we broke longterm trendline today too. So panic will be epic when it goes down.

@BN
yes, Uno is #2 Sha-network. I think it has been all the time since launch.

if you filter non-mineable and premined coins from the CMC list Uno is #22
