Bro, you got too much time on your hand. And stop the drinking!  Cheesy

Everyone will default back to litecoin

if it didn't inflate with 30% a year maybe  Roll Eyes

but i agree. Scams are for pump-chasing lowlifes. There is enough good coins to put money on that are not scammy. Rocky past with pump and dump have most coins. A coin being pumped/dumped doesn't say anything about its value.

Closed source of course and if you don't like it we are going to 'sue your slander'  Wink

"Stealthcoin" account isn't a xst stealthcoin dev. He is a troll and fudster using this name.

You should ask this forum to ban him or make him change is username at least

just sue him   Wink

it's not blocknet it's 'sue-your-slander-NET'

rofl

first time a coin-crew walks the forum threatening to sue everyone and even posting personal info of people. I think this looks like a fascist operation.
The community will be pretty amazing with this good start i am sure.

Go sue everyone on altcoinsection in btctalk because they didn't like your coin-thingy. Everyone is going to love blocknet, i swear. Pretty well done.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blocknet admits to buy into their own ito - censored content inside on: November 01, 2014, 04:13:06 PM
BLOCKNET Stay on topic.. No derails

Buying into your own shares (stock, coins, whatever) is normal, common practice.

Like Apple does. Like BLOCKNET did.

in crypto this opens a wide door for potentially insanely big scams. But it's normal, sure.

"Just shut the head and hand over the money - everything's fine. You can trust us. We are making the world better. That's how it's done everywhere." Wink

LOL. It's even closed source. I have no idea why anyone is even bothering with this spasm. Too much noise for a closed source. Who wants to buy that should be able to gamble and loose. They're buyig now not only promises. Now they buy promises with surprises attached. Very nice. I need to launch one of these rippoffs too. You don't even need code these days to get your 1 million dollars. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blocknet admits to buy into their own ito - censored content inside on: November 01, 2014, 02:41:12 PM

You must lead a limited life trying to avoid products IRL cos most if not all companies work like that or do you also have simulair threads open somewhere on the net about probably every other product/company in the world where the top own shares or stock?

look at them. Now comparing cryptocoins to companies again. They do never know which is which. They twist that the way they need it twisted in the very moment. Very typical.

Buying coins from your own ipo in crypto is not hard to do. Everyone claims money goes to 'the developement fund'
Problem is: in 99% it doesn't because you know, it's crypto - it never gets used for 'promotion and giveaway' or 'developement'  Roll Eyes

So in a crypto-ico the exact same person who issues the ico admits to buying it was in fact a bit of a dumb move here.
There is no way people could ever know what's going on with ANY of these ipo/icos. Huge fraud could be happening right under our noses  and very likely is.

Nothing new here. Just a dumb OP of an ANN admitting to buy into own ico. We knew all this before.

appears to be low volume day for uno, but then you look at it again and see it still is Top 20 volume on cryptsy.

Crypto makes a deserted impression. Are we the last survivors? Cheesy

I miss 5 to 10 shitcoin launches a day. These days the only ones launching coins are desperate twitter-whales launching the own private coin as a last resort  Cheesy

Other topic: Wanted to buy Litecoin today, then found out it still inflates with 30% this year... not in a rush to buy now. And people blame asics for it? Sure, those bad asics. It is them dumping all the coins. Sure, what else?  Roll Eyes

edit: forgot it's halloween. Everyone must be drunk in the pub. Explains low vol.

The truth is it doesn't matter what we do. People will come and say it was unfair we didn't give them enough time and we hare literally Hitler. It's frustrating but that how btt works. Time to leave btt and completely communicate over forum.nemcoin.com.

Generally: if you let people vote over a problem nobody can say a lot because 'democracy'  Smiley  Just an idea.

A vote is a good way to proceed for sure, but i do ask myself - how many (legitimate people ) will actually participate in that vote?

I do wonder maybe few will, which leads me to believe this whole redemption issue is only pressed by a minority of people. I am happy to be proven wrong though in this regard.

well, only people holding nem should be voting of course. You can even vote on the chain maybe.

instead of waiting for wolong or santa claus why not pump it with our own money? I mean: everyone chips in halve a btc and this thing makes money for everyone. What are you waiting for? Won't be cheaper than it's now.

Look at that guy currently ordering 100k coins for 0.5 btc. I mean, wtf?
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: October 31, 2014, 12:05:04 AM
ok let's say that was to happen? Who would want the responsibility to hold 100's of stakes indefinitely? What if that person became compromised? What if it was a dev and he actually dis getc hacked? Would you even want one person holding 10% of coins forever? Holding them indefinitely is never going to happen..

valid argument. That's why i'd be concerned about the safety of the dev-funds in particular Wink I'd make longer option to claim stakes for people regardless and maybe burn unclaimed stakes spring/summer 2015

Ading coins to the dev-fund shouldn't be an option since 20% is already an outsized fund. For promo and giveaway 1% of supply is enough for years. Promo and giveaway can be driven with donations from community also, so you could burn 100% unclaimed later and in fact raise the value of the other coins a lot with this. Every coin burned (less total supply) raises the value of the other coins.
I think burning the remaining coins if it really with 100% certainty is unclaimed with no hope of ever being claimed is the way to save everyone hours of discussion and headaches.
Burning the coins that are certainly unclaimed is a loss for nobody in the end of the day and if done in a transparent manner will in fact cause a positive reaction in the markets. We have seen such things before.

So i'd suggest to make that redemption longer ... like months longer. Think about people who could be on vacation with no internet, those in hospital and so on. 1 month is not long enough for some people in some situations. Make it 6 months and burn remaining coins after that time saves discussion and creates no envy or bad public relations later.

Coldstorage for the time needs to be thought out and executed well. It is possible to have coins 100% secured even if 99,99% of people can't do it - it is possible. To protect the privkey you just need to be a paranoid with some skills Wink

To protect against a keyperson becoming compomised you'd use multisig for sure.

pro-tip:
to protect from hacking you create wallets offline and store them in encrypted filecontainers on at least three offline-devices. No idea how that can be hacked. Wink
Important privkeys never touch the net until actually needed for the first and last time (use once only)- that's what one calls 'secure coldstorage'
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: October 30, 2014, 11:03:01 PM
Yeah let's give hackers unlimited time to compromise unclaimed stakes, such brilliant much genius such brains!

it's a non-issue.
Just decouple unclaimed stakes from btctalk accounts and after deadline only let people claim stakes who can proove they control the private keys of the btc-adress that payd the fees back then. So there won't be an issue with having stakes unclaimed forever. No need to redistribute, burn or discuss. Unclaimed is unclaimed and nothing else. Coins unclaimed will keep status 'unclaimed' until they are claimed or they just stay unclaimed forever. My suggestion to clear up all this mambojambo in under 1 minute.

seen this: 5 people needed.

rrrrright. Community is important for promotion and all the little stuff BUT i can't fix it. I am around, giving positive comments, helping with promo and so on, BUT there needs to be a dev who is responsible for the coin running how expected. Dev isn't nanny for all - but he has to be there and at least make sure the coin is running.

Make the coin running if you can, we help promote it and make it shiny once this thing can be transacted again. I have no idea how i could help right now since i have no coding-skills. But i am watching. Hope we get something going here again. Coin was a nice idea. I am supporting.
898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: October 30, 2014, 09:46:43 PM
on the one hand saying 'who missed deadline looses the stakes' and then turning around and saying "we must distribute them to more people" is inconsistent.

So what you want ? Distribute coins to people? So why cancel stakes of people who are late? You guys make no sense.

899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: October 30, 2014, 09:34:45 PM
@Balu where are you getting 40%  from? And do you mean 40% of 4000 stakes or 40% of stakes that were assigned to stake holders ie. 28xx apposed to 4000? Can you post calculations?

for example (wasn't able to find the original comment):

When I click the start local harvesting button, it says "The provided account does not satisfy the basic criteria for harvesting. Mainly it is related to the amount of NEMs within the account. Harvesting starts with at least 1000 NEM." My account has +400,000 NEM. Any ideas?
you need to wait until the men are "Vested"

Exactly. Wait until the men are vested. Aint nobody got time for naked men !

We may well end up with 300-400 unclaimed stakes. That is pretty good by any standard!

Whats the latest on the use of unclaimed stakes and how does it differ from OP? I was following the discussion earlier but the thread has become so large since redemption started, I cant find the final result/decision

NEM will have a maximum of 4 000 000 000 coins, all distributed with the genesis block. Each NEM coin will be divisible to 6 figures (i.e. the smallest amount of NEM is 0.000001 NEM). The total supply will be distributed as follows:

71% - distributed to stakeholders on the final stakeholder list.
10% - reserved for the core development team to fund development of the NCC and NIS up to the release of V.1 of the blockchain.
10% - reserved for the core development team to fund development of the NCC and NIS after the release of V.1 of the blockchain.
5% - reserved for the extended development team; those who are working on promoting NEM and the NEM ecosystem.
4% - auctioned off at a later date.

if a quarter of that 71% is unclaimed and you ad it to the dev-fund you end up with roughly 40%
After the dev-fund according to this already has 20% of the coins i really have no understanding how you can be so bold to be wanting to claim more coins for that from people who missed their deadline? Claiming even more than those 20% is outlandish for sure.

If it was on me i'd say "destroy all unclaimed coins, 100% of them or make sure they end up with those who were paying the 0.07btc months ago"
wasn't like signing up was for free, was it?
Unclaimed coins are just unclaimed. Someone still owns them. A fee has already been payd for those coins by someone. I think it isn't right to set such strict deadlines ... and keeping the coins of those that weren't able to meet those deadlines. Why not make a deadline of 1 day and keep 99% of the coins? Honestly, why not?
