1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Ready to buy an ASIC miner... do they really EXIST? on: April 29, 2013, 08:54:45 AM
That's all there is is people selling them on e-bay? And only the 5gh? I was looking at the 25 or 50gh model.

This all seems like a big scam to me I guess I'll stay away.

They just aren't pulling in much at the current difficult compared to electricity costs.

I really don't want to do an auction. So none of these companies are actually shipping with an absolute real world price and delivery date?  Should I keep my 5830s and 5850s?

Thanks for the long detailed post.

5  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Ready to buy an ASIC miner... do they really EXIST? on: April 28, 2013, 01:09:39 PM
Ok so I have the funds to purchase a new dedicated rig and stop toying with with 10 hd 5830s, 5850s, and 7850s...

I am READY to buy one of these ASIC rigs from butterfly or Avalon but do they even really exist?

Help?

6  Bitcoin / Mining / Looking for suggestions for cheapest rig for 3 5830s on: August 28, 2012, 04:53:39 PM

I have been away from the bitcoin scene for a while and am trying to get back up to speed.   I have 2 5830s sitting unused in boxes, and one in my main CPU.  I was thinking of what would be the minimal cost to put the 3 5830s in another rig and then buy a Diamond AMD Radeon HD 7970 for my main editing rig since it's around $400 now.

That should produce somewhere around 1.5 to 1.7 ghash correct if tweaked right?  What is that in bitcoins per day / week at the current difficulty and what pools / mining tools are now recommended?

I was using trix to overclock and then mining with aoclbf bitcoin miner before on Elgius.  That was over 6 months ago.

Blackout, you should revise your statement about moving to Portugal where everything is legal...

You are batshit crazy if you think things are like that around here.  Roll Eyes

Just so you know, some of the biggest cocaine busts in Europe happened in Portugal, and jails are full of guys who might have thought the same as you...

I have re-thought this out and cancelled my plans to move to Portugal.  Thank You.

Now that ExchB died - I am also looking for the same thing.  I can't deal with the 5 day lag on the trade sites.  If you have bitcoins to sell and want some cash instantly via paypal I will pay market rate or slightly higher for your trouble and I am 100% reliable no charge backs ever in my history of payments been on paypal years and years.

Please pm me.

Thanks

This sucks and makes me sad.  You were the BEST exchange period. Cash to bitcoins in an hours time.

I cry. It's like Spock dying in Star Trek II.

At the current prices I had stopped mining and was buying at ExchB. Guess it's time to fire up the old 5830s again.
