203  Bitcoin / Press / 2015-01-19 Inside Bitcoins - How Can Exchanges Compete With Bitcoin ETF on: January 20, 2015, 03:12:45 AM
While there’s been plenty of attention on the possible Winklevoss bitcoin ETF, there hasn’t been much discussion on the effect the ETF could have on current bitcoin exchanges.

206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone Tip on Facebook with ChangeTip! Help Make Bitcoin Go Viral. on: January 19, 2015, 03:34:37 PM
I can't think of a better way to grow interest (re. raise price)... we should all be tipping newbs with a link for sign up.
It's in our power to increase awareness and actually make a tangible difference!
207  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ChangeTip Now On Facebook on: January 18, 2015, 06:53:49 PM

Thats really really good. Will be nice to see how this allows all my friends to try out bitcoin now.
Tip them a dollar, they wouldn't be able to resist opening a wallet and trying it out .
Excellent idea... let the tipping (awareness) begin.
208  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-01-17] CD: IBM Reveals Proof of Concept for Blockchain-Powered IoT on: January 18, 2015, 09:51:39 AM
IBM has always been ahead of the curve.. in the 80's they came up with mainframes that were self diagnosing... if diagnostics identified a potential problem (not a failure) it would contact a technician to perform preventive maintenance.
They recognized the flood of new hardware manufacturers and made a corporate decision to become more focused on software solutions.
It hasn't always led to profits but they hire top minds for researching growth trends.

The underlying question is... will their proprietary systems help improve bitcoin awareness.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Guerbuez claims some very big news is coming for Bitcoin this friday on: January 18, 2015, 08:13:42 AM
So did anything interesting happen at the Miami Bitcoin conference?

I didnt hear anything that was ground breaking. The usual talk about how bitcoin has potential to take over other areas of finance, banking, remittances, etc.  The need for better security, talk about multi-sig.

Tony Gallippi of Bitpay spoke about his company, Jeff Garzik talked about the updates to bitcoin core, Brock Pierce was on a startup-VC panel (i.e. shark tank).  Paul Vernon of Cryptsy talked about his introduction to alts.

There was an interesting panel about TA on speculating bitcoin and other investments.

One of the panels on regulation mentioned a possible law (like bit license in NY) to be made by another state in 2nd to 3rd Qtr.
Thanks bithalo... your summary was concise and to the point... much appreciated.

219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy on: January 11, 2015, 04:56:15 PM
If you buy keep buying what you can afford in smaller amounts over the next few months, it has not hit the bottom yet imo but i also believe its not reached its peak and it wont for a few years atleast Shocked
Exactly... sure it might still drop... are we waiting for it to hit $50 before saying it's safe to buy?... If folks don't believe it will eventually bring back a decent return maybe they should only invest in low risk minimal return ventures.
Buying is the best way to ensure long term health.
