2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S19k Pro Sleep Mode on: October 11, 2024, 07:01:37 PM
hey guys, would this sleep mode work for mining only certain hours of the day? e.g. from 11pm to 6am.
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: huge fuckup on an order from bitmain on: April 07, 2024, 01:53:44 AM
philipma1957 thanks for the detailed explanation
My info has also being hacked a ton (inxluding tmobile giving then my SSN), so i know the feeling.
4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: huge fuckup on an order from bitmain on: March 29, 2024, 10:45:54 PM
error was my SSN which was transposed

say 123-54-6789

should have been

123-45-6789

this made someone else's name come up as the wrong SSN was active and belonged to Christopher xxxxx.

Does this mean that they just exposed someone else's SSN to you inadvertently...  I would think there are some sort of penalties involved with that for the agency responsible but what do I know.  I'm glad there's a happy ending in there for you, but old Christopher probably wouldn't be too happy to learn what happened...   Cheesy

yeah I now know Christopher's SSN his last name of course and the year the SSN was issued.

1995

You can legally enter a SSN on a lookup for free. The reveal you get is if it is valid and the Year it was issued.

https://www.ssn-check.org/verify

So

xxx - 54 - xxxx             would be Christopher's Number.

xxx - 45 - xxxx               would be mine.

obviously the ones above are dummied up.

Lucky for Christopher x I am honest and he has a common last name. So even though I know his social there are 63 people in the usa with his name. I also do not know if he is an immigrant and that the issue date of 1995 is the year he was born.

So I got the package yesterday and I still need to work on the next one as DHL has all good info now but bitmain still has the old transposed number.

Say Chris Smith or Chris Brown. Or Chris {common last name}

Why do they use the SSNs?Huh?

So are we not supposed to get our money back? what happened to all the coins he collected?
Hi people its been a while...

Welcome back to you and all MUGGLES!

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 14, 2023.  See links, above & GL everyone! 💸💸💸
Thanks!  I filled the claim form but i did not save receipts of my transactions with GAW but i just submitted the form with my estimated spending, i hope this will not cause problems...

From what I understand, the plaintiffs collected all the Hashcoin/ Paycoin/ Hashlet/ PayBase (etc) transaction data. If your email is correct, they can find and verify your transactions.
At least this was true with the 1st GAWSuit.  Good luck, everyone!

I completely missed the 1st gawsuit, when was it?

9  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: firmware with configurable frequency for antminer s9? on: November 27, 2022, 04:42:20 PM
I never tried to run s9 miner with 120v but I heard someone can run it without a problem. You just need to remove the 2 hashboard and let it run.

Or use Braiins OS to adjust it to low power or set the wattage you want.
oh I see, so instead of lowering the freq across all boards just run less of them?
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / firmware with configurable frequency for antminer s9? on: November 25, 2022, 10:53:54 PM
I found an old thread from here for a custom firmware, but the google link for the binary was dead. I also found the bitmain https://shop.bitmain.com/support/download firmware page, but chrome says "virus detected" so not sure wth...
also, there were a ton of options, so wasn't sure which one to download.
My idea is to lower the freq to run it at around 1000W with 120v.
thanks in advance
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Purchase of ASICs in the Current Market on: November 19, 2022, 01:03:06 AM
I keep hearing that ASIC prices have dropped as a result of the current bear market. Is now the time to invest in a miner? I don't have cheap electricity or any provisions to accommodate miners, so I'll look into hosted mining solutions.

"so I'll look into hosted mining"

read the story of GAW miners...completely legit company that went full scam after they switched to hosting (money was too easy, greed took over)
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Planning to mining bitcoin and gambling at the same time. on: November 19, 2022, 12:58:39 AM
Have been wanting to mining bitcoin for long time but im not sure where to mining plus i wanna gambling and set bet too. Any suggest? Lips sealed
I buy at gemini and use at cloudbet. Mining would take forever for anything meaningful
13  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Trying to have my first bite of Asic miners, so excited on: April 19, 2022, 10:47:09 PM
it's a shame that ASICs got too big. Loved my antminers S3+ , but now...i don't think there's any decent ones for a regular 120v circuit.

I'm here because I  was purging old emails and happened to find this one sent by email by the one and only....

15  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hooking up Antminer S3 to 750 watt power supply on: January 04, 2020, 04:39:34 AM
Did you own it previously or someone else did? Maybe it's configured for static IP allocation, not uncommon specially if someone owned many and wanted to keep track of each.
Keep trying the factory reset so you can start from scratch. I believe that's what i did with the ones i bought online.
It's also quite possible your miner is bad. This is how one of mine died.

18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: October 22, 2018, 02:56:56 AM
When i say as a heater I don't mean it literally. I have central heating but there are obviously some cooler spots. use space heaters to supplement heat, but if i can do that while mining, why not Smiley
I might have 220v outlet not too far from where i want it, but not sure how far from the outlet it would be safe to run it (with extensions)
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Reference] Power Efficiency for APW3, APW3++, and APW7 on: October 22, 2018, 01:19:20 AM
Is it me or the values of the apw3 don't add up in tje two graphs? E.g. at 100A, they have different values
Or what did i miss?
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: October 22, 2018, 01:15:13 AM
Hi guys, my review is now online Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5033998

"This miner won't work in a 110-120 VAC mains voltage system."
Damn, us mortals in the west only have access to 120, unless you are my dryer or any other appliance, those get whatever they want
I'm looking for a decent miner to give me heat during the winter, but where i only have 120 outlets
