1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Say I have free electricity on: October 18, 2021, 01:33:59 AM
It does, thank you. So basically - not worth it?

I could be worth it depending on how much you pay for gpus. As other stated there are more options. Mine was just based on similar to what I have.
For me all I had to buy to setup where gpus, 2xpower supplies and risers all the other gear I already had spare.
If you have to buy a full setup then everything has to be calculated to figure out RoI.

6600xt might be the best choice atm also since you dont have to worry about LHR models then.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Say I have free electricity on: October 17, 2021, 03:20:01 PM
Need heaps of power for any ASIC, plus they cost heaps and could turn into useless brick.

Even a small setup ie 4x 3070s uses 590w (if setup right) and hour thats 14.16kw a day. Only makes about us$20 a day most days sometime 27 if really lucky.
So you could maybe just run that. But atm its very expensive to get into mining. If you dont have spare gear already then I doubt you will get any decent ROI.
Even using less gpu say 3x3070s well u still have to power cpu, mobo and ram so it only takes about 135w off not 1/4. So the earning is a bit less then 3/4 then.
Maybe this helps idk.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which ASIC to be greatly in profit on: October 05, 2021, 08:57:47 AM
If only mining was this easy...
Any ASIC that makes decent profits is basically impossible to get unless you want to settle for a 2-3yr ROI if everything goes well. Apart from that 90% or more of ASIC advertised are scammers.

I spent 3 months trying to get INNO A10+ Pro. Ended up just buying some gpus.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Difference in Ethermine dashboard and miningpoolsprofits.com/whattomine.com on: October 04, 2021, 07:30:36 AM
I used Ethermine for 5month straight, was always really close to calcs most times I would even earn more then Ethermine calc too.
Only reason I changed to flexpool was return time. 133ms for Ethermine, 33ms for Flexpool where I am.

What % are incorrect and what % are stale. Are you using AMD card or Nvidia? Maybe oc settings not the best?
So many things can change pay rates like others said before.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sorting for GPUs on: September 12, 2021, 03:55:41 AM
Looks like all the non LHR 3070s for us$1200-1250 in Australia are gone now. Last month there was plenty still, cant even find one now.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining support motherboard settings on: September 09, 2021, 11:43:46 AM
If you want to mine Eth you need a 6gb GPU. Very little to mine with 2gb card > https://minerstat.com/dag-size-calculator
I use old mobo x58 ud5 1366pin from first gen i7-950. Just what I had spare already. I declock and use less cores on cpu to save some power.
CPU doesnt really matter so much you can use like a core2duo even.

How much is your power?
My state has had highest power cost in world for 15yrs+ and I still mine (us$0.28c/kw) and that is cheapest out of all companies.
Solar panels help a bit with power, but I only get paid 1/3 the amount I pay per kw.....
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help calculating each Workers Earnings on: September 07, 2021, 04:29:22 AM
Number of workers is irrelevant in calculation. It would be the hashing power of each machine.
Maybe try using a calc and divide to the time frames you want.
By using the hashing power you can see how much it would earn daily then divide by that.
ie 60mh would make 0.001260 Eth a day if u want 10hrs then 10/24x0.001260 would be the answer.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth

Also POW is paid for work done, so with Ethermine you have to prove you done work to get paid, It all automatically logged to what ever wallet you put.
Also work is generally logged per wallet then by machine.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The truth about PhoenixMiner on: September 01, 2021, 04:48:48 AM
If Nicehash can remove phoenix miner from their software and OS it means that phoenix miner isn't safe on even mining OS, it's bette to be safe than sorry later, phoenix miner is bad and that shouldn't be hard to accept, use trex instead

Nicehash credibility is more in question than Phoenix. They were the ones that got phished into downloading
a pirated version infected with malware. There's nothing wrong with the legitimate version.

I agree, Nicehash are the ones to be weary of. Been using Pheonixminer for most of this year and never had any issues.
OP needs to do more research before posting lies....
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I want to start Mining on: August 24, 2021, 02:40:59 AM
I want to start mining in profitable coin, how i start and which hardware i need for mining, please guide me.
You are aiming way too high, if you have plan to make 500$ every month wait and build for farm in bear market, you will get GPUs for cheaper price or even ASIC miners too, you could be looking into 50k for 5GH to 6GH in bear market
He wants like $500 a day..... honestly hes asking way too much. Im guessing he doesn't have hundreds of thousands $ spare.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Avoid expensive GPU on: August 19, 2021, 01:36:17 PM
Yes high end GPUs are costly but they are built in just few numbers, having two 3060ti will give you 120MH with less heat and less space to run them compare to buying 5-6 gtx1660 to achieve same hashrate which will cost you some numbers of risers and also spaces and also more heats

False

With the new NBMiner update, the 3060 ti card was able to hit 40.5MH/s. That's a 35% improvement over the 3060 Ti LHR's standard hashrate of 30MH/s.

How you get 120 MH with 2 3060 ti?

Do you ppl check how much the Nvidia with LHR cards produce RVN? thats the key why this happening.

https://www.kryptex.org/en/best-gpus-for-mining

There are also 3060ti not LHR…

They stop making then lot time ago, is not possible to find a card without LHR right now. (range from 3060 to 3080 ti, 3090 dont have LHR). Is like they don't exist anymore.

As I said in other thread a last week, Still plenty of non LHR 3070 and what not in Australia. Most retailers will state LHR or V2 or R2. Anything not with that is full hashrate model.
Also the non LHR are selling for more then the LHR ones obviously.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Avoid expensive GPU on: August 19, 2021, 01:33:02 PM
I bought 3070s for many reasons.
1) I can get decent mh/s on one rig not have 2 rigs. Used all old stuff I already had with new corsair psu's.
2) Power is highest price in world where I live, currently almost 1/3 my income goes straight to power (more if there is no sun for solar).
3) If something does happen and mining is not worth it 3070 are sell able, 1660super good luck selling tons of them for decent price. At least in my location.
4) Setup cost was pretty much risers, gpus and 2 psu so roi is quicker. 1660supers would mean need way more setup gear.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help confirm if this is LHR GPU or not on: August 12, 2021, 09:14:20 AM
Still plenty of non LHR 3070 in Australia, They cost more then the LHR models.
The bigger retailers normally state if its LHR or not here.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NERFED CARDS ARE IN CIRCULATION on: May 29, 2021, 05:55:49 AM
Congratulations on a good purchase.
I looked for similar computers in my country.
A system unit with a GeForce RTX 3060 video card costs $ 2,520.
With more powerful video cards computers are not available

I seen Evga 3070s i Australia for aud$1700 the other day in stock. About us$1,310. All other models have gone up to aud$2k+
You can still buy gpus without buying other stuff here.

Edit: just checked Evga sold out now but still Zotac for same price https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/graphics-cards/nvidia/85704-zt-a30700h-10p
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is your electrical cost/kWh on: May 29, 2021, 03:11:04 AM
I live in South Australia. Pay aud$0.36c per kw, roughly us$0.28c. My state has had the highest consistent power cost per kw in the world for almost 20yrs.
If OP is correct in his price then they take the new lead? My price is the lowest I can get in my state checked every company. Are you sure yours is lowest?

Paid aud$4300(after $3500 rebate) for 6.6kw solar with 5kw inverter, should be paid off in just over 2yrs cos high sun here. Could of gotten cheaper but went with a good company.
Don't get cheaper rates because solar just get paid aud$ 12.4c per kw feed in. Then have to buy it back at night time for triple the price
And you can buy to buy 2 houses nearby. Install solar panels in one house and use cheap electricity at night rates in the other. This is in order not to buy electricity at night at a triple price.
Will this not be cheating?
Then it will be even more profitable, because mining will be very expensive at night.

We dont get any off peak rates so not cheaper at night same price all the time, cheapest I can get is aud$0.36c. Literally rang tons of companies and I tend to check every 3 months but nothing changes.
I don't get option to buy back the power I feed in, only buy normal price per kw all the time. Other companies charge even 44c per kw here. I could get paid 15c per kw feed in but then Im paying over 40c per kw to buy it back.

As for buying another house, my current house value is like $750k (plus $45k tax) and its shitty 1960 build with 1 toilet (Just the land is valued at $500k so they can charge more taxes). Australia is not cheap for anything.

Just my tobacco is $122 for 50gram again the cheapest I can get (Government takes over $100). If I could move to Canada I would, Australia sucks unless you earn over $75k a year.....

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6900xt overclocking on: May 22, 2021, 11:34:17 AM
Same here the 6800xt is for my gaming pc, mines when im not gaming. Have a rig of 4x 3070s mining all the time.
Waiting on another riser so i can take 1070 out of another pc.
Never even bothered trying to game on the 3070s, the 6800xt is much better for most games running 165htz monitor at 1440p.

Not sure how much you pay for power but i pay us$0.28 per kw so doing the bios mod was worth it, also runs 5c cooler with less fan.
heres quote from another thread I was getting higher mh/s then.
I have a 6800xt so 6900xt should be pretty much the same.

You want to make a mining profile in the driver tuning just for mining.
With 6800xt i get 64.5-64.6mh/s.
I have core set to 1219 (actually runs 1200 or 1205).
Voltage 625mV (I will explain how lower)
Fast timing on, 2150mhz speed (actually runs 2138mhz). Some people have to select 2140 i think.
Uses 137w in miner software. Undervolt made it run 5c cooler too.

To change volts i used this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N07GTV06_-Q
Original bios file from here https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=AMD&manufacturer=Sapphire&model=RX+6800+XT&interface=&memType=&memSize=&since=
Morepowertools here https://www.igorslab.de/en/red-bios-editor-and-morepowertool-adjust-and-optimize-your-vbios-and-even-more-stable-overclocking-navi-unlimited/3/

Re: 3090, if your just using it for mining then maybe 2x 3070 is better option. There are other threads here discussing this, seems most prefer 2x 3070.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6900xt overclocking on: May 21, 2021, 09:33:00 AM
Should be other thread with this info.
Pretty sure 6900xt is same chips as 6800xt just binned for better clocks and lower power.

I run my 6800xt at 1200 core 2150mem fasttiming on. 625mV thru bios mod.
Runs 64mh/s at 136w.
Use to run 64.6mh/s at 137w but for some reason i cant find that sweet spot anymore.
You can get some down to 108w if u mess around with tdp and stuff but I also game so didnt want to push it.

Edit: also try Phoenixminer 5.5c and 21.1.1 drivers if ur stuck getting problems. At least thats whats working well for me.
Lately I have been having issues with it not going to 135-136w and have to keep loading profile and moving core up and down like 10 to try get it so lock to watt range.
Never use to do this always was 137w and 64.6mh/s 100% of time, didnt change drivers or miner or anything. Now im loading profile like 10times to get to 64mh/s Sad
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Completely new to mining and wants to learn on: May 16, 2021, 12:55:42 PM
Read the part under the calculator, it states what the current variables are and used. Block reward is basically at 3.
So yes everyone is getting low pay.
Just be thankful your not paying us$0.28c per kw like me....

Good and bad news I guess, Non limited cards now worth more?
As I highly doubt they will be selling the Eth limited ones cheaper.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on a Gigabyte UD5? on: May 13, 2021, 04:12:42 AM
I just got another gpu and Im trying to add it to the rack. I only have 4 risers atm so have been trying to get one to run on the board.
It doesnt matter what way I plug stuff bios wont even boot with 5 cards.
The first 2 slots are small pci then the last 4 are full length. So I have to use pci 3-6 for card (card on mobo also blocks 1 pci slot if 3-5 is used).
Currently I can only run gpus in the full length slots.
The mobo is old and I cant seem to find any options in bios for pci.
Do you guys have any suggestions or know why its not working?

Added a pic to show pci's
