1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX3070 fans donīt spin when we put the riser on the motherboard on: May 31, 2021, 02:51:25 PM
First of all, let us put the components for you because you are implying that we have expensive cards with sh*t components, ok?

Risers from gpurisers (18)
PSUs from paralelminer (1 x 1200w and 1 x 1100w) with 2 breakout boards with 32 pcie 6-pin connectors (Cables 6-pin to 8-pin)
8 x rtx3070s
Asrock btc pro
16 gb ram
Nmve m2 500gb

At no time have we complained about overclocking, operating systems or operation of any component, my husband and I simply opened the post because we had a problem with the rtx, nothing more...

Once we solved the problem with the change of the ssd for the m2, we only asked two questions, the "diff: 4.29" and the hiveos...... Nothing more...

Don't you think that before judging anyone you should have all the data in your hands ?

@btc-room101,  if you "get so tired of hearing people", donīt get into a forum, because the forums are for this, to help each other... And no, until we saw that everything was working well, we did not start with the OC... How difficult is it to ask before opening your big mouth ? It seems........

And seriously, there is another in the post that is accounting for what we have spent ? Amazing xDDDDD Well, keep counting, champion... We have deducted 2300€ from VAT, we have sold the 8 pcs for 350€ each, 2,800€ in total and we have spent a total of about 9500€, total 4400€ / 8 gpus = 550€ each rtx... A good price for 8 cards seems good to the sir ? What there is to read...

Anyway, thanks for some answers, for others no.... Mods, please, close the post and for us as if you delete it...

Hi, thanks for the answers.

Last night we were thinking about it until 2 in the morning and it is already working (At half gas but good).

We disassembled the entire rig, got into the bios, loaded default values, installed an nvme and installed windows again.

The difference with last night was that when executing afterburner all the gpus worked and we could breathe xDDD

Possible failure in the hard disk that we use? It was a ssd and we installed the same in one as in the other...

We still have to adjust the rig because we are missing two cables to connect the fans (we will go for them this morning) but there is a phrase in T-Rex that is repeated and we donīt know what it is despite the fact that we have configured virtual memory...

ethash epoch: 417, block the_number_of_the_block, diff: 4.29 G

What does that mean ??

On operating systems, for us, Windows is more comfortable but it is true that we had HiveOS prepared on a pendrive. This one doesn't need virtual memory, drivers and that stuff, right ? The only thing we don't like is the way to access remotely, for the rest, we see it very simple to use, it does not have many complications...

Thanks and regards.

Hello, we have the problem of the subject and we donīt know what is happening, the truth...

Until I received all the components to assemble the rig, we had 4 pcs mining with 2 gpus each and 0 problems.

A while ago we have mounted it with my husband and we have left it as impossible, let me tell you...

Quote
8 rtx 3070
Risers (From GPURisers)
Asrock H110 BTC-Pro (13 GPUs supported)
8 GB ram
Intel G4400
HP / DELL server PSU x 2

When we turned everything on, we have entered the bios to configure 2 things, there was no problem, the board turned on, the gpus also so we installed the nVidia driver, we rebooted, we launched afterburner, we configured the gpus and we launched t-rex...

It has started to fail and to restart so we have decided to connect the gpus one by one...

We have noticed that the 7 gpus that were not connected, the fans kept turning but the one that was installed in the pcie, stopped. We have tried all the gpus and the same thing happens with all of them. We have tested with different risers (But all of GPUrisers) and the same, and different cables. We have only tried to connect one power supply and the same.

We thought it could be from the bios but no, it has the latest version...

What's happening here !! Can someone help us ?? Any information, anything, would be appreciated...

Regards.

If you are usa based I would be willing to sell you amd 5500xt's

Hi, sorry but I have been living in Spain for a short time (A couple of months since the discovery of the covid) for work...

I have continued looking for gpus or rig frames and someone has made me an offer for a rig with 6 gpus rtx 3070 with 365Mh/s for 8,500€ (Approx 10,000$).

It is from a computer store, they give me invoices with a two-year guarantee (The guy has told me that everything is new) and others and although I donīt know everything that the rig has (I havenīt asked), Iīm in the same... I think it's a lot of money and with the 1559 I don't know if the roi will develop normally....

What do you think, is it worth it ?? The truth is that I donīt know what to do...

For me, the easiest thing would be to stay away until we see what happens from July, but on the other hand, I would like to have this experience...

Thanks and regards Smiley

Hello, I think that apart from what happened, you have said everything...

The guy who was going to sell me the gpus has sold them and is trying to sell me others, I think the 1660, at a price of gold, so for now, I will not do anything. I will be entering the forum and as usual, collecting information, especially what happens from July...

The gpus were not expensive, but buying the 1660 I think is risky because I don't see the roi very clear, the truth Sad

So nothing, thank you very much for your comments, guys, I appreciate all the comments, really Smiley

Thanks and regards.

Hello, newbie here, first post and eager to learn Smiley

I've been reading a lot since February posts on this forum, reddit one and a lot of youtube videos and I know its a rare time to invest some money.

The only thing that has pushed me back and been cautious has been the EIP1559 but if I have not misunderstood, the "only" thing that will happen is that it will decrease the profit of the transactions but it will be possible to continue mining for one or two more years until eth2.0 comes (If I'm wrong, please, correct me...).

I want to try mining, yes, with a modest investment... I donīt have the classic mining friend, nor a neighbor who has tried it, that is, I start alone and blind without knowing if I am going to crash against a wall or to be a great experience (I hope it's the second Tongue )

And so far, the presentation of what I intend to do, now, what i have in mind:

8 x gpus like this, unlocked at 8gb (Very cheap compared to the madness of the 30XX):

https://www.gigabyte.com/es/Graphics-Card/GV-NP104D5X-4G#kf

1 x Rebtech motherboard:

https://rebtech.ai/pf/rebtech-8gpu-mb-amd-a6-8500-4g-ddr3-120g-msata-8-x-usb-pciex/

I don't want to pay 3 times what a 30XX is worth, much less to buy 6. With the price of 2 of these, I buy those 8, that motherboard and other things like a server psu...

As you see ??
How do you think, that experiment could be successful ??
Do you think the group can work to mining ethereum ?? (If I'm not mistaken, I think the rate is around 320Mh/s...)
You see possible the assembly of the mini rig ??
I'm losing my time and my money ??

I appreciate any comments based on what I just explained Smiley

Thank you and regards Smiley
