I've sent some CKC from my CKC client wallet to Bittrex more than two hours ago. Unfortunately there are still 0 out of 6 confirmations. Anyone who has an idea how long this will take? In addition; is it possible to cancel this transaction myself? It doesnt show up on the blockchain yet.

Thanks,

Clyze

Is your wallet fully synched? If it is and it's still not working, backup your wallet.dat file (this is important) and delete everything in the roaming/checkcoin folder (except the wallet.dat file) and start the client again.

My wallet is fully synched, I believe it wasn't when I sent the transaction. Does this matter? Will I still need to backup my wallet.dat file? I just did, but I cant find the roaming/checkcoin folder. Just a client.

It doesn't really matter that you sent the transaction without synching, but sometimes the transaction stalls if you send without fully synching. Always make a backup of your wallet, if your hard drive fails or your computer gets stolen your funds are lost forever. The location of the checkcoin folder is C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\CheckCoin (make sure to make hidden files and folders show)

Your wallet file is different from the Checkcoin.exe that you use to start the client

See this video on how to backup your wallet.dat the video is about Dogecoin, but the process is the same http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdFPfDTCLhQ

Hello crypto enthusiasts,

BitSend has managed to find some good partners that will help distribute some press releases for us next week. This is what we have planned and managed to arrange so far:

- Guaranteed Google News coverage
- Published on over 200 online news outlets and as many Bitcoin news websites as possible.
- Tweeted to over 40 000 + highly targeted Bitcoin twitter followers (this does not include the reach of our Thunderclap campaign).
- Syndicated through 1000+ online RSS feed monitoring and publishing services.
- Distribution to all of the mainstream global news distribution services (Associated Press, Lexis Nexis, Factiva, Comtex, ProQuest, Market Watch, Gale, Thomson West and Acquire Media).
- Submitted to 40 000 + relevant media outlets (newspapers, TV, radio, magazines, bloggers)
- Published on at least 5 top tier media outlets such as Yahoo Finance, Business Journal, Chicago Tribune, San Fransisco Chronicle… Exact outlets vary but they are high quality, high traffic mainstream media.
- Syndicated through an extra 20 + PR distribution networks, as well as all the newswires, publication and syndication.

Beyond all of the above (which is guaranteed) we may also be published on Bloomberg Businessweek, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Bitcoin Magazine, CoinDesk and many more outlets online. It is up to these outlets themselves if they will publish the story. We try our very best!

In addition, we have launched a Thunderclap Campaign to help create awareness and bring new users to our growing community. Checkcoin is about exploring the world around us and even rewarding others for doing the exact same thing. In order for Checkcoin to work, we will require a very strong and active community. We encourage all new Checkcoin users to head over to our community forums. We'd love to hear from you.

Have a great evening!

Best regards,

Maurice,

Bitsend

You guys are doing an amazing job. I am fully confident Checkcoin will be a succes. Thank you for your hard work.

I'm thinking long term here, but to facilitate large scale adoption Checkcoin will need an extremely easy point of sales. It should be very convenient for people how they aquire CKC. Things like gift cards, credit card sales etc. The first question potential newcomers will ask is 'cool, but how can I get Checkcoin' an answer like 'mine them' or 'buy BTC then go to an exchange to swap them for CKC' will make no sense to the crypto uneducated. I don't know if this is being worked on right now, but it should be if development resources allow it. When the platform has fully matured we want people to be able to hop on board without going the usual crypto route. This is paramount to CKC's success. Lots of coins that aimed at adoption outside the cryptosphere failed because their point of sales was overly complicated.

Looking at the coins listed on Coinmarketcap 90 % are clones of Bitcoin itself with no true reason for existence besides BTC. And even with BTC, (I realise this is a controversial standpoint) why would "Joe the plumber" choose crypto over fiat? what is there to gain besides from a purely speculative standpoint? Don't get me wrong, for me BTC is gold and I totally agree with the decentralized aspect of it and being free from banks. But does the general population think the same way? I think not (yet)

Crypto has imho reached a market saturation point, where new blood is still on the fence about buying, owning and using it. Why? because there is no percieved reason why one should use it. For crypto to become widespread the demand must come from the market itself and this demand should not be force fed onto people. Many remain sceptical when first confronted with crypto. It's time for a turnaround, we basically must have people unaware or reluctant of crypto to say "wow this is cool" This is where Checkcoin comes in. It will appeal to people for its features, not by the premise of "banks suck, use crypto, it's cooler" The appreciation and adoption of cryptocurrency is a byproduct of Checkcoin, albeit an important one. This is significant because there are loads of coins out there that clone an existing product and force it into crypto, like cloud storage or online videos. We have that already, its like developing Youtube again sticking crypto onto it and say "hey look this is better" It will simply not work. The good thing about Checkcoin is that they will build cool software, without crypto being their main selling point. Yes it's a crypto currency, but that's only half the fun. To entice people into using crypto you have to offer them something new that they will want to use, not taking something that people already use, rebrand it with some coin and trying to sell them your "crypto improved" solution.

I dare to say that Checkcoin may be the accelerator of more widespread crypto adoption in general. Because it fills a niche between money, social media, geolocation software (which is booming) and more. I really wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in 2015 a massive "stock buyback" of CKC will take place. For instance a company who sees CKC's potential for commercial goals that wants to own a significant amount of the CKC on the market.

I have been bullish on other coins in the past, I can however no longer agree with their long term strategy or focus. That is why I have decided that the only coin I will hold (besides BTC) is Checkcoin. There is outstanding development going on some other coins (the 10% of legitimate alternatives to BTC) but they focus on subjects that are too soon (anon) or other things that the market is not ready for yet. I will probably return though, in due time.

The decision to go all in on Checkcoin will either be the best or the worst I have made, but my gut feeling and history of trading tells me right now that this will be "the final alternative" to Bitcoin.

I have a feeling that Checkcoin will rise significantly soon, I am estimating 10ksat within the next few weeks. Should that time come I want everybody to be ready. Once we enter the $250k market cap it will attract a lot of fudders and other nasties. Right now this thread is peaceful and supportive, but that will change when we get some attention. People will resort to terrible tactics to get you to sell your coins. But remember there is nothing substantial to fud about, Checkcoin is run by a legitimate business with fully transparent devs who are not anonymous.

So I will stick around here. This will either be my last call on the port of crypto, or the beginning of a truly remarkable journey. It will depend on the succes of this great coin, but I am confident I have made the right choice.

Guys, I just got home from a party. Various people talked to me about a game called "Ingress" it's an augumented reality game developed by Google, where essentially the world is your playground.
More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingress_%28game%29

It's steadily gaining adoption, the people I talked to went apeshit over it. Basically it allows you to play a game in "the real world" using landmarks as points of interest on your mobile phone. I asked them if there was any reward which you can trade in for cash or goodies and whatnot, they sad "sadly you can't, that's the only thing thats lacking"

What is the significance of this? First of all, I talked to about 10 people so I'm hard pressed to generalize my findings to the general public at this point in time. But can you see how this pertains to the potential of Checkcoin?  Checkcoin will be the linking pin between these kind of games, social networks and cryptocurrency. The incentive for the adoption of Checkcoin's technology is there.

I explicitly withheld any info about Checkcoin as the platform hasn't fully matured yet, but trust me there is a huge untapped market out there.

Hold on to your coins, be patient. Don't be tempted to sell early. It may take 6 months who knows, but this will be epic. Rest assured that I will market the heck out of CKC when the time is right.

Dear XC community,

As you may know, I was here from the very beginning. I always held a firm belief in XC as a project and platform.
I have held throughout the highs and lows because of my conviction that XC will succeed.

In the past I have been critical of XC branching out in these early development stages. I've grinded my teeth at the mooncries of marginal cryptocurrencies who basked in the reflected glory of XC and it's development at the very second it was clear there was a collaboration. I have stressed the importance to solidify XC's base before building ambitious projects on top of it.

Now with the announcement of Blocknet I throw in the towel. Although the underlying tech is amazing and it illustrates the development of XC is top notch, I think XC keeps diluting itself by taking on side or advanced projects before it's core tech and market dominance has fully matured. To me it seems there is lack of focus as it diverts precious development resources away from XC's core business.

I am sorry but I can no longer unify XC's direction with my personal beliefs. I might regret this decision, and it has been a very tough one to make, but for now I am out.

All the best

Springfield

The longer I am invested in Checkcoin the more I am convinced I made the right choice.

Checkcoin is essentially Bitcoin 2.0, it creates both a need and want for people outside crypto to get involved in our little cryptosphere. A true incentive besides monetary gain.

Don't get me wrong, Bitcoin is still king and will be, but there is absolutely no reason why Checkcoin shouldn't take LTC's market cap in the near future.

Do not underestimate the hype potential this has. Sure it may take a little while but the future is being written right here. Trust me, this will blow your minds.

I feel like my journey for "the perfect altcoin" has come to an end, sure I hold others, but Checkcoin is my main investment now.

i think the goats concernes been valid some weeks ago but the tide is turning i sense. some direct competitors struggle for various reasons. lot of revelations and stuff. And lot of money looking for a new home atm and XC looks like a nice place to be . If you have a bad day Mountaingoat go outside and chill afk. been there. best option.

Don't let us hang here to long synechist.  Wink understand deals probably have to be sealed but throw us a bone every once in a while.

This + 1

We're indeed at the crossroads, although I predict a return of the bear whale doing one last weakhand shakeout, but after that a steady rise. Crypto is slowly entering the real world, and I am still convinced XC will be at the tip of the spear.

bots seem to be gone on trex. now they share equal volume with cryptsy and i see alot of buys. me like. bring us some news Synechist. something is happening.

Something is indeed happening.

There's also a lot going on behind the scenes, and the roadmap looks insanely hardcore. But you'll all have to stay posted for now, as we're not in a position to release any news yet.

For now, suffice to say that you can expect a mix of linear developments and complete surprises. ;-)
The XC team needs to do something about this horrible price.

I know that there is going to be an ITO and that might bring the price up, but as of right now, XC seems to be dying for people that never visit this thread.

I am also noticing that only a select group of people post on the thread, I think that needs to change as well.

What exactly do you think the XC team can do about the current price? Make it magically go to $50?

You are one of the "select group" who is posting here on a regular basis, but all you seem to be concerned with is the price. Protip: if your blood pressure rises and drops in correlation with the daily fluctuations in price of the stock you invested in, trading is not for you. Let alone crypto trading.

And your assumption that "XC seems to be dying for people that never visit this thread" is simply wrong:

1. XC held it's value well through the beating BTC took the past few weeks
2. People invested in XC will check here for updates, people not invested in XC don't care for it and don't pay attention to XC's price "swings" let alone are concerned with XC's longevity.

Don't get me wrong, I think you're a good guy and the whole goat business is funny. But your gloomy posts about XC's future based on your analysis of the daily price gets on my nerves sometimes.
What I meant was that for an investor that only looks at numbers the coin doesn't seem to do that well.

Any serious crypto investor does comprehensive research and his decision making is based on more than just technical analysis. Furthermore TA in these relatively shallow markets doesn't predict a thing, anything can happen.

Could you update us with your progress at least several times a week with screenshots of the software or even few sentences on parts you are working on, etc. Even if the devs are working really hard on the software, a few days with silence will cause the price to drop fast, especially since the release will be awhile from now.

This coin has so much potential and I am in it for the long run. Good luck.

I do agree to some extent, but I cherish the fact that I can pickup coins sub 2ksat. Checkcoin (together with some of my other assets) I feel absolutely safe holding, knowing that the devs put both their names and business to this coin's development. I personally don't need daily reasurrance of this coin's potential, but it might make some of the newer investors feel better.

CKC on third page on Bittrex and rising fast. Will hit second page soon and then first possibly tomorrow.
First Promo is STRONG. Most coins can't produce something like this. Bitsend being behind this coin gives it a huge advantage.

+1 I totally agree. Checkcoin just oozes professionalism at lightning speed.

ATM's? Done
High quality promo video? Done

I bet there is lots of amazing stuff happening behind the scenes as well.

Truly excellent work Bitsend, if you keep this up this will go ballistic.

Now THAT is a GOOD post on any day, but a GREAT post to read on a Friday. I am getting into Checkcoin like I did bitcoin- better late than never!

Late ? LOL

Plenty of time yet. Anything under 2000 sat will be early (bearing in mind there are no sure things, just the usual risks). I would expect a lot of flippers to sell millions below that level over the next few weeks... We will be able to gauge things by the actual reported progress.

Checkcoin is still very young.

Indeed, plenty of time left to buy. As you said, around 2k will be the floor in the next days. Although, the devs will release something nice tonight, depending on the implications of this we may see a decent spike. But take it easy, don't chase prices. Just buy an amount you feel comfortable with and hold. First milestone will be reaching the top 100, so again, there is still so much room for growth.

I actually meant 1k would be the floor, and 2k will be the ceiliing, until the IPO sellers are out (and there will be a lot of them).

I will be watching the actual progress of the project : don't focus on price in the early weeks/months.

Ok gotcha, but depending on development and features those ICO buyers might change their minds and hodl. I for one bought ckc at
ICO price but I'm not going to sell for anything less than 50k. It will be a long hard road (if ever) but I am patient.

That's about right. Hold for a Binary outcome.

If you really believe in a crypto project like CKC, why not just hold forever? Sure, set a target where you sell SOME for BTC if you want to hold BTC (or fiat... bleh) but you should always hold onto some coins indefinitely if you feel the project has merit. Otherwise you're only investing for investing's sake and never actually believed in the coin in the first place, which I think is a poor reason to invest in something because you're only hoping that the coin will go up in value based on other "suckers" getting into the market to push the price up instead of basing your investment on the true value of the commodity you are investing in.

Well spoken, my 50k number was arbitrary, merely to indicate that I will hold for a long time. I am with this project almost since day 1 and I invested because I believe it will succeed. I will never sell all my Checkcoins, but at some point I might cash out my initial investment, but I may refrain from doing so depending on market conditions and adoption etcetera.

I've been (day)trading BTC and alts since 2012 and I always had three principles:

1. Never invest in an ICO
2. In case a coin doubles, sell half to get your investment out.
3. Set an exit price and sell 95% of your remaining coins.

Regarding Checkcoin I have broken rules 1 and 3 for the first time ever, I invested in the ICO and I haven't set an exit price because I want to see how far the rabbit hole really goes with this one. Although as I mentioned, I might sell some to take out my initial investment, at the moment however I am not short on fiat so from that standpoint I will probably break rule number 2 as well Smiley

I admit I entered this "crypto game" as I called it full Gordon Gekko style, ruthless and without any profound interest in a coin's advantages or fundamentals. I bought and sold everything. I have changed though, I believe we are ready for Crypto 2.0, focusing on true real world adoption instead of being just another speculative equity. Now I invest in what I call platforms; coins that offer more than just being an alternative for Bitcoin, because in my opinion those will never succeed. A succesful cryptocoin should provoke an incentive for people to use it, not offer just another payment method. I see some of these platforms as companies in the making, that is where I put my money for the long term.

Checkcoin in that respect tics all the right boxes:

-A true company behind it, not some anonymous dev offering a shoddy whitepaper and who shouts "moon" all the time
-It fills a void in the current crypto landscape. If you are honest, almost with every coin out there you could ask yourself "why wouldn't I just pay with cash? (or Bitcoin!)" Of course us enthusiasts see the advantages, but the general public? Not so much
-It doesn't focus on anonimity. While anon in itself is great, and I wholly agree with the right to have privacy, Anon from a point of mass adoption is too soon. The majority of people simply do not care about their privacy, especially teenagers nowadays. They fill in forms, post their personal information on the web etc they simply do not care. With them being to future adopters or users of crypto, why should anonymity be the main focus at this point in time? It sells to us crypto enthusiasts, but most people out there don't even know what Bitcoin is, let alone that they are ready for anonimity in crypto. We will see a revival in a couple of years, but for now the hype is starting to die out quickly. I am not saying anon coins are useless, I am just saying that their potential will take time to bloom. This will come after crypto use is widespread. I am invested in various platforms that offer anonimity for the long run.

Basically what is lacking is a profound reason why the general person wants to use crypto. Ask yourself, "why?" why would anyone want to use a volatile untangible "currency" which offers things like "freedom from banks" or "lower transaction fees" There are a lot of people who never think about these concepts because they simply do not care yet.

Until now crypto has been trying to force feed their advantages over fiat to the people, we've reached a stalemate regarding adoption. Adoption cannot be forced unless there is an incentive to adopt and Checkcoin does this beautifully. It's simply "cool" to use the functionalities of CKC, I bet most people will never even be aware of the fact that it's a cryptocoin in essence, they will simply use the features this platform offers. For investors this means that they will see a nice return on their investment as with increased demand and usage, the unit price will rise.

As I said earlier today, wiser men than you and me will eventually see the enourmous potential of this technology and want to have a part of it. It will take time, but that day will come.

welcome on board Smiley

thanks i need a holiday please go to the moon

Someone should place a checkcoin faucet on the moon.
I wonder, does the moon have GPS like coordinates? I mean GPS on earth is based on satellites orbiting it, I doubt the moon has satellites in permanent orbit for this purpose. It would be cool though to have Checkcoins literally on the moon Smiley
