301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GP] GoldPieces - The Online RPG Gaming Currency - ON CNBC - NO PREMINE on: August 12, 2015, 09:15:55 PM
New GP website at http://goldpieces.net  is up. Enjoy! Still in Beta but it is a start Smiley

We are all working hard behind the scenes to take GP to the next level.

If you want to help or run a GP enabled web game please PM me.

Also, some people have told me they like the current 2.5 GP staking cap per input and so not want a fork at all. I was thinking of opening this to a vote and letting the community decide. No one "owns" GP, and you, the community are what's important to GP. What do you all think? Should we take a poll on this? Do you want a fork or do you think we should keep GP as it is? Let me know.
Registration doesn't work for me. When I click "sign up" it says
" OOPS! 404
Page not found, sorry Sad"

Can you try again and let me know if you still get this error?

Will get the web dev to look into it.

It's official HYPER has been added to http://shapeshift.io a few days ago

Here was the announcement on twitter: https://twitter.com/ShapeShift_io/status/630038353874944000

Now everyone can trade HYPER including on their iPhones. Enjoy!

We are really grateful for the support from the ShapeShift team.

Hi - I'm currently running the Mac wallet but have noticed that it doesn't seem to be staking the the rate it should be. Also, the performance of the whole wallet is so slow. Was thinking it may now be the time to get a windows machine, but had a few questions?

1. When I backup my wallet.dat on the Mac, can I use that file on a PC?
2. Trying to keep costs down - would a micro pc like this work:
http://www.amazon.com/Quantum-Fanless-Windows%C2%AE-Baytrail-T-Quad-core/dp/B00SCBWF52/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1439222005&sr=1-3&refinements=p_n_operating_system_browse-bin%3A5945862011

Thanks!

Hi. Yes, the Mac Hyper wallet is not supported currently.

1. Yes. I've personally used my wallet.dat files from a PC and moved them to Ubuntu. You should always keep a copy of your wallet.dat file before transferring it. I would suggest keeping it on a flashdrive from your Mac. Then after you install the wallet on the new Windows machine, close the wallet, and copy (so you have a copy on your flash-drive too) your wallet.dat to your Windows computer into the folder C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Hyper.

Then when you run the wallet again, after it syncs, your funds should be the same as before.

2. Personally I think it will work fine, because Hyper doesn't seem to need much to run, but I can't be completely sure on this. I don't believe there are minimum requirements listed for running the Hyper wallet. Maybe someone who knows more about computers can handle that question.

Thank you for the response. Hopefully someone else will chime in about the hardware requirements.

Just a thought - would it be a better solution to install Ubuntu through Bootcamp and then run the Linux version of the wallet or to get a Windows micro pc? Any thoughts are appreciated.

That would depend on you personally. As long as you know how to use Bootcamp and set up Ubuntu, then it shouldn't be too difficult to set up the wallet. I believe HYPERFuture said the Linux wallet is easier than ever to get running. You can also do this before going ahead and buying another computer, so that's good. If you need any help installing Ubuntu or the Hyper wallet, feel free to ask. Smiley

Just remember to always save a copy of your wallet.dat file elsewhere. It's especially important when installing operating systems.

HYPER wallet on Git is now very easy to install on Linux.

Otherwise, a small dedicated HYPER staking machine is a great idea. Eventually, I want someone to release one of these. You could try a Raspberry Pi, if it goes well maybe you can sell dedicated, preconfigured HYPER staking machines for HYPER Smiley

Windows Wallet download in OP is broken (returns a 404 page), probably due to HYPER website having been hacked/off and remade. Can we have a new link or is the wallet linked on GP's website still up-to-date?
https://github.com/palmd/GoldPieces/releases
Click the link that says "GoldPieces-Win32-1.0.0.1.zip"

Thanks for bringing that to my attention I will fix that now.

Now that we have the new site up, priorities are adding the game development program to the new website, and starting the first big GP PR campaign. More big updates soon. Stay tuned!

Concerning WIndows 10 - Remember there is usually 6 months to 1 year of problem fixes
and updates on every new product. DOn't want to risk down time with my wallets.
Think I'll wait.

This is true. Like any new software I would wait 6 months or so until microsoft has fixed the major issues with Windows 10 that are bound to be there at the moment.

I was just looking at adding HyperPoker to my crypto poker comparison page ( http://cryptorials.io/bitcoin-poker-comparison/ ) but it seems like a bit of a ghost site.

Is anybody using it?

There should be something like a weekly tournament so if you log in and there's nobody around you at least know that if you come back at a certain time you will get a game.

As you already found out, http://hyperpoker.org/ its more or less a ghost site, i come by from time to time, but i find myself alone there, hoping to see anyone, but no luck...dont know, maybe some promotion and some daily freerolls would help.

But interesting is there are already 103 members registered there...that is something we can work on, right?!

The Hyperpoker developer has plans for freerolls and promotions etc. He is just very busy in real life.

We have the software and hosting for Hyperpoker, and if someone else is interested in running it, that is a possibility. I would need to check with the current dev to see if he agrees or not though, as he did code it from scratch and I know he does have big plans when time allows for it.

Sorry for the late response, got busy. I have watched the block count and it hasn't moved. I tried disabling my firewall all together to no avail. I think I may have unlocked the wallet before it finished syncing and it staked right away. The wallet stopped getting new blocks right after it staked, my coins are actually still showing as staking.

Don't worry your coins are fine in your wallet.dat (you could in theory install the HYPER wallet on another machine, and copy your wallet.dat over from your %appdata% -> Hyper folder and your coins will be there!).

Did you recently upgrade from an older version of the HYPER wallet to the newest version? Please let me know asap.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Game Currency ~ ON CNBC ~ Twitch.tv ~ CSGO, Poker, RPG + More! on: August 06, 2015, 11:33:39 AM
Just checked, it hasnt blocked it.

The blockchain may have gotten damaged. (usually happens if the computer power goes out before you've closed the wallet completely)

To make sure that the wallet isn't getting any new blocks (and not just being slow), you can go to Help -> Debug Window and watch the current number of blocks and see if it changes at all. If it doesn't change, then it's not working.

So you can get rid of the blockchain (and you'll have to download it again, so that's why I tried to get it fixed before this point).

To do this, close the wallet, and go to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\HYPER and copy your wallet.dat file somewhere else, like your desktop or flash drive. Then, delete everything in the folder, except the wallet.dat file.

Then, download the new bootstrap (which should make your client run faster if you weren't using it before). Unzip the file after it's downloaded, and place it in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\HYPER folder. Then run the wallet again. It will probably take a long time to load the bootstrap (the splash screen may be up, but not the wallet), so be prepared for that, but then it should run smoothly and sync from there.

Usually he would get an error message about the blockchain if the blockchain was corrupted / damaged. This also usually only happens if someone has recently upgraded to a newer wallet version that requires a newer version of the blockchain.

sacskate did you recently upgrade to the newer wallet version from an older version? Then this is your issue and you will need to download the blockchain again.

Otherwise, there is definitely an application like a firewall or something on your PC stopping the connection.

Have you tried leaving the wallet on over night? Maybe it is just slow to start downloading the blockchain. I would also try this. Sometimes it can take 5-10 minutes to start syncing after it has been opened.

Close your wallet, open it again, and then leave it on for at least a few hours and it should start syncing.

sacskate said the firewall wasn't blocking it when I asked about it. I also mentioned checking that the synching wasn't just slow by watching the current blocks (and paying attention to if it changes). What else besides a firewall would block the wallet from getting new blocks?

Your advice was good, hopefully in the debug window he saw that he was in fact getting new blocks (which is what I suspect).

cool! Now I'm happy, because I can be the part of this project. Smiley Keep up the good work dev!

Welcome! Just let me know if you want to help with the project in any way Wink

Sorry for not posting in here about the 7 Days to Die server I am working on. Here is a change log since my first post about it here. I probably missed a few things but this is the main things done.

New features
Added bounty system. A unique bounty system not seen on any other 7 days to die server(Or at least I have not seen it  Roll Eyes  Wink )
Added more items to item shop.
Added private messaging
Added a home command that sets your home and you can teleport back to it.
Added HYPER support(GP and C2 will be added soon. Probably before server launch)
Added cheat detection for stats.
Added cheat detection for speed, flying, and teleporting hacks(Buggy. Still need to test new version).
Added a kill all zombie command for admins.

Changes
Made /help command more organized(Still needs improvement but good for now)
Improved a lot of main code
Fixed huge bug where server would crash because of some steam names

Started working on
GP and C2 support for buying in-game cash which is used to buy resources.
Free For All game mode - Players are put in an arena and first player to get 10 kills win.

Also I added a small feature I have not seen before. Not anything big but still something no other server has.
For more information on 7 Days to die read about it here https://7daystodie.com/

Awesome stuff please keep us all updated.

Sadly I don't have anything much I can actually show you right now, but just to let you know that the development of GP-sponsored retro adventure game "Captain Disaster in Death Has A Million Stomping Boots" has been going really well.  Currently adding in a (fairly expansive) mini-game that I think a lot of you will love... no I'm not telling you what it actually IS, I want there to be a surprise factor to it when people get very near the end of the game and discover it!  Grin

Looking forward to the surprise  Grin

Everyone. Right now the best GP enabled game we have is web based MMO RPG Dragon Knights of Valeria at https://dknight2.com/portal/ You can trade GP with other players for resources in-game, build an empire, go on quests etc!

New site is coming along nicely and then we can announce GP to the world!
312  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Dragon Knights of Valeria - The game that pays you to play! on: August 04, 2015, 11:10:41 AM

Are you a Graphics Designer and want to earn some BTC/HYPER?

I am looking for someone to create monster images for Dragon Knights of Valeria.

Requirements
Must be transparent
Must NOT be copywritten
Must be 100x100 in size
Must fit their respective monster names
Must fit the theme of DKV

There are 500 monsters currently in game that need images.

If you are interested in undertaking this task please send me a PM here or in game with your price and examples of previous work. Payment for the agreed upon price will be sent upon completion of the job.

The new site is looking great!

Is it possible to add that HYPER is the no. 1 sponsor to the DKV homepage?

MakingMoneyHoney would probably be good for the graphic design work.

315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: July 29, 2015, 02:22:37 PM
Is this game playable?

I couldn't see a link to the actual game in the OP.

Looks like an awesome project I want to learn more!

There is also a fantasy MMO RPG game at http://dknight.ml where you can win some coins like HYPER (over $400 000 USD market cap) by building villages, trading on the free market (free market has HYPER and GP integration), slaying monsters, completing quests, forming alliances and clans with other players, etc.

If someone can direct me to where I can visit Crypto Kingdom and play that would be appreciated.

EDIT: also if you were interested in integrating HYPER into Crypto Kingdom we can offer you to be featured in our PR campaigns that get published on Bitcoin Magazine, CryptoCOinsNews, MarketWatch, etc. You can learn more in our strategy document: http://hypercrypto.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/HYPER-Goals-and-VIsion-Official1.pdf

Crypto Kingdom is still in development, but it will be launched in beta testing soon as the project leaders said. As I saw it is a very complex game which tries to be as close as possible to the reality economics and life. So far Monero and Sphericoin are planned to be used as currencies into the game, but hopefully they could add HYPER as it is a great coin.

Thanks ChrisPop for letting me know where the project is at. It sounds great.

Would love for HYPER to work with the Crypto Kingdom team. In exchange for adding HYPER (and possibly GP) in-game we can help promote Crypto Kingdom in a huge way when it launches which will be a win-win for everyone.

Very good news. Glad things are starting to move along.

Yes over the next 1-2 weeks things are going to start getting very interesting.
