1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Chinese knock-off GTX 1060 - Paypal, BTC, ETH, XMR, etc on: April 06, 2018, 11:24:53 PM
I hope the buyer knows exactly what he is getting. These are not GTX 1060's at all. They are counterfeits with a Geforce 450 GTS chip and a hacked BIOS to make it look like a GTX 1060. If you open GPU-Z to look at the card, the shader count and frequencies are all wrong for a 1060 and match that of a 450 GTS or 550 Ti. Lots of people complain that it will not do crypto, mostly because there is only 1GB of RAM onboard but the BIOS is spoofing the RAM to 3GB. I've been seeing tons of these being sold by victims and they want to reduce their losses by pawning them off to another unsuspecting victim.

You can tell these are counterfeits simply by the heatsink shroud used. There are primarily 2 styles. One is the one pictures, the other looks like this. The counterfeits also have a VGA port. No modern card has a VGA port anymore, so it's a dead giveaway.

2  Economy / Services / Looking for freelancer to do some script work on: January 30, 2018, 10:09:20 PM
Well I guess I'm looking for a freelancer to write up some script or program. I'm not a very smart person when it comes to coding, and often lazy, so I'm looking to pay someone to do some work for me.

I need some script or program that will, in effect, go through combinations of settings for a mining program, such as sgminer, to find the fastest setting, which includes settings such as raw intensity, worksize, threads, or possibly other user-specific options.

I have no idea how much work this entails, though another user in world of warcraft addons development made a simple talents combination html page that made it easier for me to simulate different talent combinations in under an hour as seen here so something like this should not be as hard either?

I know sgminer has an "api-listen" and "api-allow" argument which leads me to think you can get things like hashrate through this API or set other things like raw intensity without restarting the client, though other things like gpu threads and worksize do need a restart.

If you need more details, let me know. Unfortunately I don't have much in the ways of crypto (garlicoin? lol). Got plenty of paypal though and a fair chunk of trades/trust here on the forums as well as bitcoin-otc. I have no idea what something like this would cost either, so offers will need to be made.
3  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2 MSI RX 470 Armor 8g OC $400 including shipping on: August 14, 2017, 08:28:36 PM
MSRP for the RX 480 was $200. So why should I pay -more- for used item thats also less powerful? Whats a gamer got to do to buy gaming equipment at gaming prices?
4  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS, maybe] AMD Vega 64gb NIB (XFX) on: August 14, 2017, 08:08:48 PM
Where do I have to go to buy this card -for gaming-? Surely there should be a miner price thats higher. I want to pay the gamer price instead. MSRP.
5  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Block erupter ASIC miner on: June 28, 2016, 01:20:13 AM
If there are millions out there and they have no value, surely someone that has some would rather have a few extra bucks than some worthless silicon.

There are also some with engraved concentric circles on the heatspreader. I sold mine long ago though.

I'm not interested, but here is a stock picture for those interested.

This pool may be mining INVALID blocks, meaning you will not get paid for mining. This applies to the BITCOIN chain.

Switch your miners until this is resolved.

Pretty funny that 90% of the posts in this thread that have non-zero trust have red negative trust.  Roll Eyes
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power supply question 240volt 3phase power vs 1 phase on: April 19, 2015, 04:03:09 PM
I believe using 1 of the 3 phases is fine (along with a neutral and a ground), but using 2 of the 3 phases may cause bad things to happen. In a normal 2 phase configuration, the 2 hots are orientated 180 degrees from each other. But if you use 2 phases from a 3 phase line, the orientation is different, being in a 120 degree / 240 degree rotation. This causes the net difference in voltage between the 2 phases to be much lower, and I have concerns that the circuitry inside the power supply only expects a certain waveform of net voltage.

Ninja edit: After some shenanigans with wolfram, turns out the waveform of 2 phase power coming from 3 phase is exactly the same as a normal 2 phase coming from 2 phase with just different net voltages. Assuming the peak voltage of 240v 3 phase is 240v between all 3 phases, each phase is 120v. Putting 2 of the phases as hots in an ATX power supply, you have 208v @ 60hz. So what you are proposing is perfectly fine. Just make sure your PSU input looks something like 100v-264v. If its 115/230v, bad things might happen.

I'm electrically stupid. But not that stupid.
11  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] Localbitcoins account 1 year 10 months old 100%+ve fb and no real name set on: March 08, 2015, 10:50:31 AM
how can you guarantee the -real- trust level of the person that buys your account is the same, or better, than your account?

or in other words

how can you guarantee the buyer wont just go back on his word and scam people after he's bought your account? scammer buys trust, finds a poor sucker that wants to trade because of apparent high trust, scammer takes money, and disappears.

0/10, do not trade.
12  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Delta 1212HHE Fan's 4 pin Box of 18 - used on: March 03, 2015, 09:21:57 AM

Will update on receipt.

Shipped and it would be greatly appreciated to acknowledge the receipt of box.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Script asic miners - Fully liquid cooled 175Mh/s+ rig. on: March 02, 2015, 10:57:17 AM
Why would you use oil as the liquid though? Why not water? It's free, and has better heat capacitance.
14  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 4x Block Erupter Blades: you pay shipping + make an offer on: February 18, 2015, 07:41:48 PM
If you can get a hold of some USPS Padded flat rate envelopes, i use those things all the time. They hold much more than a small flat rate box / cardboard flat rate envelope, and they only cost (i think) $5.70 shipped. Internal dimensions 12.5" x 9.5", and can easily accomodate some boxed items such as your blades. You'll have to request some from if your local PO doesn't have any. USPS sends flat rate packing for free to you.

Doesnt matter unless you were solo mining.
16  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Spondoolies Miners SP10, SP30, SP35 Etc on: October 25, 2014, 12:47:03 AM
I am looking to buy used mining hardware. I would like to buy any miners that are made by spondoolies or miners that can hash around 1000W Per 1.3TH/s. I am looking for a SP30 ideally, but will also consider buying a SP10 if the price is right. I am located in Chicago IL if that helps for determining shipping. I can also pickup locally and surrounding. Let me know what you have. I can pay in cash, bitcoin or escrow.

Please price the miners appropriately. I am reasonable, but I won't be able to pay over $600 for a SP10 and over $2,000 for a SP30. PM me or post what you got. Let's see if we can work something out.

I can sell you a nice 8mb 1920x1680 signed picture of my Sp-30 hashing as expected for $200. Deal?

That's some pretty scammy language there. You want to sell a picture for $200?

18  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Intel Core i7-3930K, 64GB G.SKILL DDR3-1600 RAM, Motherboard, GTX TITAN on: October 06, 2014, 12:31:13 PM
Looking to sell my 'old' gaming PC hardware. Everything is in perfect working condition.

I got an Intel Core i7-3930K CPU with retail box (no case sticker though, its MIEN). 6 cores @ 3.2 GHz. Does not come with cooler as retail package did not have one. Looking for $350 shipped USPS Priority in USA. +$5 if you want Fedex Standard Overnight shipping.

64GB (8x8GB) Kit of G.Skill DDR3-1600 RAM. Model F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL. Still have original box for it. Never overclocked/overvolted. Looking for $575 shipped USPS Priority in USA. +$5 if you want Fedex Standard Overnight shipping. Selling individual sticks MAY be possible, but I really don't want to break the kit up unless absolutely necessary since the ram sticks are matched for each other.

MSI Big Bang-XPower II LGA 2011 Intel X79 motherboard. Still have original box for it and MOST accessories. Still figuring out what is missing, but definately have I/O shield, manual, sata cables, SLI bridges, stuff like that. Flashed with the latest mass production BIOS. Looking for $230 shipped USPS Priority in USA. +$10 if you want Fedex Standard Overnight shipping.

ASUS GeForce GTX TITAN GTXTITAN-6GD5 Graphics card w/ 6GB GDDR5. Comes in original box and has dvi > vga adapter, driver disk (recommend using latest drivers from, pci-e 6 pin to 6+2 pin adapter. Cleaned up as much dust as I could with brush and compressed air. Still a crazy fast graphics card that can play many titles on ultra. Asking $590 shipped USPS Priority in USA. +$10 if you want Fedex Standard Overnight shipping.

International shipping is possible, just cover shipping expenses for trackable shipping. This counts USPS Priority Int'l for some countries, others will need USPS Express Int'l for tracking up to delivery. Fedex Int'l MAY be an option, but I need to discuss that with a friend to see if he can get some discounts, otherwise it is VERY pricy, but otherwise speedy.

Payments.. Need to figure it out on that one. Bitcoin exchange rate is very unreliable right now, so probably not accepting that unless you give me a good deal. Paypal is possible (Only shipping to verified address on file for my protection), maybe others, just ask.

Pictures coming later on request

Nah. Only negative he has right now is from luke-jr. Still has a couple days left on the forum ban. He'll be back.
