I don't think there are a lot of people in third-world countries spending $14/month on Netflix though. Netflix charges substantially lower fees in poorer countries and the average download speed is higher than I expected. Who still has bandwidth limits? With multiple devices in the family, 300 GB per month doesn't seem like much of a challenge even without downloading the full blockchain. And thanks to Net neutrality, it's none of my ISP's business what I download. i have really really sucky internet. it would take months (literally) to redownload the full blockchain. and my internet was worse back in 2011 when i started. if i leave bitcoin core up i cant really use the internet at all for anything else, it stalls everything. so its generally offline and i run it to sync every couple weeks or so. so i still have the original blockchain i started in 2011. full and unpruned. i back it up to a raidz2 (5 drives any 2 can fail) nas whenever i sync it and also to multiple single drives, some offsite, monthly. if i lose it it would suck. hard. downloading the full blockchain from scratch is a real pita for someone like me but as i use it to verify my own transactions i need to trust my node fully, ergo i need a full chain from genesis block to now. the hardware/storage is no problem. the bandwidth is. it would be nice to have a better way but i cant see how. i trust no node but my node.

Now I see this profile constantly discouranging people from believing in bitcoin's potential is just a satirical one. Probably he is an early bitcoin adopter who has a lot of fun reading another enthusiasts' reactions mad on his negative views on bitcoin. This thread actually shows how powerful bitcoin is, because OP had to edit the post several times as bitcoin price kept hiting new ATHs (and that is what makes his joke a funny one). Well, I can't say he doesn't have sense of humor. Get used to it on where there are people who are on this forum or market would really have these kind of sentiments or comments on having in mind which could definitely make some effect to noobs which do easily believe on what they do read up in the public. It do turns out that people like these ends up on being a troll in the eyes of the community which we do know on how this market behaves and talking about final ATH is something laughable. hey when youve been around for multiple 10,000% gainz and 95% dips youll likely develop an odd sense of humor too

The next level of crime will be the robbery of banks and vaults, during which robbers will not take cash and jewellery, but hardware and paper bitcoin wallets that are stored in safety deposit boxes.
I've always thought the frequent recommendation of storing wallet backups on bank safety deposit boxes was dangerous as heck. Just the thought of entrusting something so sensitive to a bank is enough to make me uneasy, even with a passphrase. could try 2 of 3 multisig plus passphrase in a couple different bank deposit boxes (in different towns/states) plus one hidden at home maybe. or variants of this. while a government or TLA etc could confiscate all of the deposit boxes the odds of a straight criminal robbery getting 2 of the 3 before you can xfer the coins to elsewhere is pretty low.

Hardware wallet? I prefer separate offline addresses. The only thing I use a wallet for is for sweeping addresses and immediately transferring the coins to new addresses.
I an absolute retard and use a locked-down/encrypted Mac Mini for my hardware wallet, running Bitcoin Core. That's right. I'm clearly banana bread in the head. Yeehaw! living life on the edge. no better way to experience life.

I just noticed that vapourminer (supposedly intentionally) showered me in exactly the right amount of merits to become a Legendary account. Well spotted! While that wasn't a goal that I ever specifically wanted to achieve it still feels like a nice acknowledgement from you guys and I would like to thank all of you for that. Some of you obviously wanted to make me a Legendary and I would like to thank you for that appreciation, feels really good. Also I hope vapourminers MRI today went well. Crossing fingers for you mate! Now forward and onward with you honeybadger, we are ready and it's about time. yup, saw you needed 13 more for legendary and youve more than earned it. and thank you for the well wishes.

so, tomorrow i go for a brain MRI. had my 2 dose Pfizer vaccine 5 months ago.
so what say the gang as to what happens to me.. do all the little 5g nanobot mind control devices get extra power? will they suck all the power out of the hospital electrical system through the MRI machine and cause mass mayhem? will they form weird 5 dimensional antenna shapes in my head? will they all get sucked out and stick to the MRI machine? will i suddenly start making useful posts?
gimme your best guess and if i survive i will let yall know what went down.

I never liked ukulele basses, but this thing looks like it's a different league. Do the strings "stick" to the fingers like it happens with ukulele basses, or do they glide reasonably?
depends on the strings. you can get rubbery strings or more traditional wire wound strings (what my ubass has). each gives a different sound of course so it depends on what youre looking for as far as that goes.. and you do need a different nut for each type; the rubber strings are thicker. so swapping back and forth is a pain.

The Micro Cube Bass RX is exactly what I use with my little 23" scale Gold Tone Microbass: It adds just enough bottom-end thump to make it sound like a stand-up bull fiddle. Sometimes I play with 3 acoustic guitars and maybe a banjo or mandolin and it gives me enough volume to be heard without drowning out the treble players. Big box? Haven't used one since I got my first B-15. We were our own roadies back then and the Portaflex made life a lot easier. Not only that, it sounded much better than the big box monstrosities from Traynor, Fender, Marshall, Vox, etc. My little GK is all I need now. Any larger venues and I simply DI. heh reminds me of my kala ubass ukulele. its my goto bass for just messing around. full size has its place but when on the couch or whatever the ubass rules.

i remember that. i think it was a safety issue (code issues). so it was a liability if someone got hurt iirc. therefore it was removed. still, sucks and shows how ridiculous (some) regulations are. Should have put a sign saying "Strictly an art installation. Not to be used as stairs". yeah or "for display only" or something
