If anyone is interested in selling this set, please PM me with your offer.

Well I guess I'll accept the reality.
Looking at the archival topics, I suppose BTC-denominated prices went down with rising bitcoin, but does it look like they stayed there since and haven't really went up with BTC price going down?

Maybe not a dealbreaker, but that was MS62. Front of that coin seem to look bit rough, while OP's MS 65 sounds like standard/OK grade for a 2011 S2 brass.

Appreciate your comments guys. Still I can't wrap my head around how 1.4 for this is a good deal. Sounds to me like something maybe-OK if I were about to sell quickly. Is there really that many sellers (generally all Casascius seem to come up on forum only once in a while) or just lack of buyers?

Market would verify obv, but I'd ask ~1.88 BTC for this coin. Could agree few bitcents down with firm buyer.

$1.50 is little low, AFAIR 2011 Gox low which was close to when Casascius coins were bron was something around $1.99 Nevertheless congrats for keeping them until today.

Great source. From what I hear, Mike Caldwell pronounces it "ka-say-cious", where the last "cious" sounds similar to the "cious" in "delicious".
Cool thnx!
No probs, original YouTube version was down, but I remembered I had it somewhere in my basement among other treasures. If you want to thank me you can send me some Merit, maybe I'll be able to put my own avatar some day =). I also have another short one, called "Making Casascius coins" where Mike is putting holos on newly produced coins (without commentary). I will put it on the channel as well, but BitTube complains something about a format so I will need to run it though a converter first.

It surely wouldn't be reasonable about year ago, but today, who knows? I guess the market will tell. Personally I think 1 error is still more valuable than 2x 2013 brass 0.5.

guys you really need to come in the discord world domination via airtime is coming
It says discord invite is invalid/expired? Can you please re-post?

Good luck with your sale, but how can you expect anybody to be "seriously" interested ("serious buyers only"), if you post just 1 photo?

OP, did you perhaps meant a "buy it now" price by your 1.8 BTC "reserve price"?
|
|
|
Perhaps so, but OP is selling 25 x 1 BTC, not 1 x 25 BTC.
Also btw, total FV is easily ~39.725 BTC worth, including just BCH which is easily redeemable.
Collectors don’t really factor in hard forks. These aren’t being bought to be redeemed. Depends which forks we're talking about. From BTG and smaller, I agree it's a lot of dust and it might not be practical. But BCH, which is pretty valuable, cannot be ignored. If coin can be peeled and BTC and BCH can both be very simply redeemed and converted to other crypto on pretty much every exchange, then the value of the coin cannot be any less than that. BCH pretty much *must* be factored, and it sets a price floor for any particular coin, doing otherwise is denying reality on own expense. Collector might not be buying to peel, but seller can do so if buyer won't offer satisfactionary premium over FV.

Or should it not be peeled?
I happened to order one of these as well. It came peeled from the beginning. Reference can be found here: https://web.archive.org/web/20120501221246/https://www.casascius.com/Broken 1 BTC Physical Bitcoin as sample (no BTC value) Real coin with real Bitcoin address and private key, has been torn open. Perfect if you want to see what's inside of one, without ruining yours.

Exchanged some BTC for Neteller, transaction went OK, fee was bit high, but seller was responsive and ready to answer questions.

Another attempt of these But tbh, I must say it feels bearish now, but it might just be a shakeout.

Just upload them to https://imgur.com/ (make sure there's your username on the pics) and post a link as markj113 says. Making them available at email-only makes your offer look shady even if there's everything Ok with it.
