21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What are your thoughts onf VeChain VET on: June 05, 2021, 03:50:19 PM
What are your thoughts on VET?  I'm thinking of buying but I am very unsure about it.

Market Cap #20

Good Concept
VeChain is a blockchain platform designed to enhance supply chain management and business processes. Its goal is to streamline these processes and information flow for complex supply chains through the use of distributed ledger technology (DLT).

I really don't care about the man.  But, changing his twitter photo to that BTC thing, is a sign of mental illness.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Positive info on ALT Coins - above 200 day moving average on: June 05, 2021, 02:47:25 PM
I am very impressed to see you have so many assets. I myself when investing and trading in the market only choose a few assets that I can learn and understand.
but I see you have a lot of popular coins. but I'm sure you just rely on market conditions not an in-depth analysis of the project.

Yes,  I look at several factors,
Market Cap
Who is backing the coin - large well know companies is a good one
Who is using the coin
Price - except for BCH, BTC and ETH, a high coin price puts retail buyers off.
Another factor - are people talking about it.
Finally the ALT coins are a low Percentage of the total.

I'm looking at VET now, good concept.  But I need to research it.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Positive info on ALT Coins - above 200 day moving average on: June 05, 2021, 02:42:49 PM

Well, lets have a look at the 30 day average then most of the coins will be in the downwards so its not going to be really surprised if we face further dump in this weekend.

Although crypto trades 24/7 there are thin markets during the 24hrs.  The weekend is one of those times also.  It is a good time to place low buy orders.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Positive info on ALT Coins - above 200 day moving average on: June 04, 2021, 11:28:15 PM
Below are the coins I own, only Bitcoin is below the 200 day simple moving average and holding above it.
This is good news.  I think the worst is behind us.  The weekend is usually a bit down, so don't be concerned.

Bitcoin Cash
Bitcoin
ETH
ADA
Atom
EOS
CRV
Link
MATIC
SOL
DOT
XLM

Yeah, Elon Musk gave a good opportunity for investors to buy more. But it is not a good thing at the same time. Because we also lose money when such thing happens. It will be better to see him stop manipulating the market. But I don't think he will stop.

His tweet.

If you don't sell; you don't lose.

When I invest in BTC and other coins I use limit orders and ladder the buy price.

I woke up this morning and saw I bought a lot at some good prices - some under $36,000

The I find out Elon has broken up with BTC with a tweet.

Well, thanks Elon you allowed me to get some good prices and now that you are gone, it is a signal to me the bottom is in.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which best Altcoins to buy & HODL for some months on: May 31, 2021, 03:49:24 PM
Bull market is officially over friend, wait for massive corrections that are coming which can take months and prepare for new bullrun years later, buying and holding now will bring you more pains and losses

People can't pick a top to sell, BUT they are going to pick the bottom to buy?

32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Buy when there's blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own." on: May 30, 2021, 02:57:40 PM
Warren Buffett once said that it is wise for investors to be "fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful."
We do opposite to that. We buy when market is going up and sell when coins are at their lowest.

Yes.  For some reason people think it is a great idea to buy items when they are on sale at a lower price.  But when it comes to bitcoin and stocks it is the opposite.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Buy when there's blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own." on: May 30, 2021, 02:55:01 PM
That is wrong because it is out of context.

For example in altcoin market when there is blood on the streets you should run away and don't look back because majority of those altcoins that are bleeding are never going to recover and a lot of them are going to die.
Take 2017 and 2018 for example. Every single altcoin which is almost 10k got pumped during 2017, even the so called "top" altcoins got pumped a lot. Then in 2018 again every single altcoin got dumped ridiculously hard. There are coins that have lost all their value and have gone below 1 satoshi price! Obviously buying any of them is going to be foolish.

This is posted in the Bitcoin forum, not ALT.

It is a very novel and helpful tip especially for those of us who are severely panicking about their investments amidst the bear market. However, this shouldn't invalidate the fact that there is also no wrong in selling, if and only if, you cannot afford the losses you will be inflicted upon during this situation. So it's a case-to-case basis as always.

If a person didn't sell at 65 why would they sell at 35?

If they need the money at 35 for living expenses they are not handling their finances well.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Buy when there's blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own." on: May 29, 2021, 09:32:16 PM
Keep doing it.

Many are forgetting that they should do their own thing when the market is bleeding. Sadly, it's inevitable that there will be complaints that their money is starting to become less due to the state of the market.

But if you've been here for quite a long, you're doing the right thing of keeping more and buying some more for your own accumulation.

Yes,  I have 10 limit buys on BTC from 30K up.  And doing similar on 4 ALT coins.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is simple and for some reason I can’t figure it out and it’s complicated on: May 29, 2021, 07:07:14 PM
Thank you for your response but that’s not what I was asking. I want to buy Bitcoin with my cash and then buy stuff with the Bitcoin. So you answered it backwards. I’m trying to turn usd into btc abs use my Bitcoin on the same day.

To buy bitcoin you need to transfer your usd from your bank account to an exchange e.g. coinbase.

You can only buy stuff from companies that accept bitcoin - that is few the USA.

So, you need to do what I wrote above.

google 'how to buy stuff with a crypto wallet'

Do this, look up companies that you want to buy stuff from and see if they take bitcoin.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is simple and for some reason I can’t figure it out and it’s complicated on: May 29, 2021, 06:31:34 PM
I need your help. This is what I’m having a problem with. I want to buy some BTC. Preferably with PayPal or moneygram and I would like to be able to do that with a Bitcoin wallet so I’d be finding the wallet through PayPal or moneygram with cash so the funds wouldn’t be tangled up for days. After I buy the Bitcoin I want to be able to buy things or transfer the Bitcoin to another business for services and I would like to do that as soon as I buy the Bitcoin even if the transaction took and hour. But everything I see is they want me to wait three to five days to be able to use the Bitcoin that I bought with cash;
Ie paypal, moneygram. That’s just not viable for me because it could be worth 20, 30 or 40% less in five days so if you know of a wallet that’s easy to fund and you can use your funds after you purchase crypto. Within an hour or two. Please let me know because there are probably thousands of people just like me that want l use Bitcoin but just can’t figure it out the way we need and in order for Bitcoin stock to rise, you can’t leave the simpler people in life behind. We have money amd we want to put it into Bitcoin

Steps.
1. buy bitcoin on an exchange
2. sell the amount of bitcoin you need to sell to fund what you want to buy in your local currency
3. move the local currency to your bank account or paypal
4. buy what you want with cash or credit card

Baron Rothschild, an 18th-century British nobleman and member of the Rothschild banking family, is credited with saying that "the time to buy is when there's blood in the streets." He should know. Rothschild made a fortune buying in the panic that followed the Battle of Waterloo against Napoleon.

Hard to do but, I'm doing it.  My crypto portfolio is down greatly.
39  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winter is here.... on: May 25, 2021, 02:43:42 AM
Starting in the mid 90s day trading became a big thing.  Many went broke, some killed themselves, some killed other and then killed themselves.
I really do not believe that to be that much true. I mean yeah there were some people who commit suicide, even during this fall there were a few that I heard, but people are forgetting the number versus the total number. There must be millions of people who lost money and under 10 people who killed themselves, that is not really a bad number if you ask me in a bad situation. Sure we would rather have that number to zero but crypto can't be considered the cause or even the problem here, there are millions that do not kill themselves maybe the people who did should be checked a bit more carefully.

One I heard was a real estate agent who sold a house of someone's, and instead of transferring the money he put it on leverage so he could make a quick buck before he transferred and got liquidated so he killed himself, does that really feel like a crypto problem? Or a greed problem instead?

40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is someone worried about the recent decline of BTC? on: May 23, 2021, 07:28:12 PM
After this, we will see bitcoin starts to recover again and will hit new ATH in the coming days.

Days? Or do you mean months to a year(s)?
