where can I buy instant BTC?

without a verified account, you're SOL.  Your only bet with banks closed is LocalBitcoins and be prepared to pay a hefty premium.  You can buy me a gift card on purse.io with a credit card, but again, you'll pay ~ 20-25% over spot.  You gotta plan ahead for these things.

Well, I mean technically you can buy instant BTC with coinbase.. but you have to link your credit card to your account, incase if the payments don't go through from your bank account, it will just automatically charge your credit card... Visa and mastercards are only accepted.

But anyways, I've never really looked at purse.io ... I know I should, but I'm lazy. What kind of gift cards are you looking for?

It takes days to set up a coinbase account. they send you 2 microdeposits to your bank account and you have to tell them how much it is so they are sure it's the right account. it's ACH (in the USA) so it takes 3-4 business days.  I can buy instantly there up to a limit by linking a credit card to my VERIFIED account.

To answer your question, I buy gamestop gift cards that I use to buy shell gift cards that I use to buy gas.

I just thought of something. You can buy instantly if you are near a BTM.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-atm-map/

Any market in Dick's Sporting Goods gift cards?  I know this isn't the marketplace subforum, but I got tired of trying sell it on there. If you'd like to buy it, send me a PM.

And man I wish there was a Bitcoin ATM near my place... that would be so convenient, but next place I move too it will be sort of within driving distance... so good I guess for convenience, bad for me that I won't be moving there till about 4 or 5 more months and the bull spike will probably simmer down by then.
942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price going up for no apparent reason? on: October 17, 2015, 04:10:25 AM
So, what's the general consensus for the increase in price? Gemini taking its toll on the market, China's recent influx of transactions, or just a combination of both?  It's easy to say both, but I would like to hear what everyone thinks is the major cause for the bulls to be let loose.

By the way, I don't understand much about dice, but what do you think about directbet dice? Since you can make parlays with it. Does it make it more profitable?
sometime I play dice in directbet
I think the chance of winning is quite high with great odds,
I tried to parlay, by combining the odds of 1.05 by 5 roll
and won, you can try it  Grin

Wow, that's pretty interesting... I never heard of a parlay dice site.  So how does it calculate what odds you have to get the parlay if you set the odds really high?
945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 16, 2015, 09:49:30 PM

Oh wait.. I thought the picture posted was an advertisement for a new iOS app for monero. My mistake.

I wish; that would be incredible.  An open-source iOS Monero wallet would be pretty fucking rad.... unfortunately I think we may still be a year or two away at least.

Why? Monerowallet runs fine on IOS; and der Monerowallet for android is using the Monerowallet code, just packed into a Cordova project. Itīs just javascript which runs on any device.
This runs as well on iOS - but so far the Apple appstore disallowed crpytocurrency apps that arenīt Bitcoin; at least they did when i tried the last time.

Why's that? I've never really heard of that rule before? I mean if they would allow Bitcoin apps for wallets to be ok in their eyes.. That doesn't really make sense to ban everything else?
946  Other / Politics & Society / Re: AMERICA PRESIDENT WHO YOU PREFER? on: October 16, 2015, 08:29:21 PM
I'd just like to add.. Since this forum is a forum about crypto currencies and all... Which president do you think will be more lenient on crypto currencies/a supporter of such things?
947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 16, 2015, 06:00:36 PM
I dont think we need to advertise and make it too commercial because if our selfish government comes into picture it will change the entire scenario of trading .They will ban all the websites trading bitcoins and we should pay bloody takes to government for transactions. This is just an example many such factors would emerge if btc's become more commercial .We do want a lot of users but only underground! Small and happy family .

In some cases, yeah I mean you're right.. But the reality is, is that we can't buy much stuff with bitcoins as it is right now. So even if the price/purchasing power sky rockets, in reality if we want to take advantage of that, we would have to sell our bitcoins to get fiat. And everyone knows that when people are selling out there coins, that means a downward price for bitcoins. But if we use bitcoins to purchase anything we want, and use them for day to day type stuff.. Then it would mean the economy of Bitcoin is getting stronger and bitcoins don't enter the exchange sites.

Haha, I love how on the poll question it's currently 35% >$320 and 37% "It's topped out now" ... That's what I love about people in bitcoin, a "all or nothing" kind of mentality. There's never no middle ground amongst speculators; it's either "to da moon" or "R.I.P", take it or leave it.
949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 16, 2015, 05:39:31 PM
make bitcoin startup( then promote bitcoin) to be main sponsor of the biggest football club that huge fans around the world like real madrid or barcelona or manchester United,
so ithink their fanbase will also try to know what bitcoin is?

That would take hundreds of million dollars to do, I would think... Plus, who would fund this?  There is no way there could be some sort of civil fund raiser amongst bitcoiners to raise this kind of loot.
950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 16, 2015, 05:03:52 PM
the best way to advertise bitcoin currency is to spread the word in your day by day, you know, friends, coworkers, family et etc...

another good way to advertise it is at the social networks, i do it everyday Tongue

but yes, i think that bitcoin should have more ways to advertise it.

I've already done this, and got heavily criticized by loved ones and friends... friends didn't really see how it could be accepted by big businesses and used globally like we all on here would like to see, and my family... well.. let's just say that they are very southern and very religious.  A new global currency to them means the "rapture" is coming and they think that if this succeeds and I'm a part of it, then something "bad"(?) is going to happen to me. Lol, so I'm done with trying to influence people face to face that cryptos are the way to go.
951  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: October 16, 2015, 04:54:38 PM
I wonder? Well in a 3rd world country like Philippines in which only a few percentage of the population knows what is "BTC".

But I'm pretty sure it will become a trend once bigger companies push bitcoin in PH. Some already adapted BTC as it payments.

This will take decades or so to be recognized as a "Currency" like paper money.

Well honestly, if you consider what the term "currency" actually is... it is indeed already recognized as a "currency".  If some businesses already accept bitcoins as a valid form of payment for a good or service (which this has already happened) then it's recognized as a currency.  The real question becomes can it become a currency in which main stream businesses like Apple, McDonalds, Walmart, etc. would start accepting bitcoins as a valid payment.. and my answer to that is no, for now.

Until bitcoins hit a point of stability at a certain price point, then they might consider to accept it.  But if bitcoins price just keeps sky rocketing and falling out of the sky, they wouldn't want to take a gamble on it.  Not to mention that Government's would have to find a way to be able tax it, because we all know that they wouldn't allow a new currency to be used by everyone without taking some of the cut on every purchase.
952  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Astronomers may have found alien megastructures orbiting star near the Milky Way on: October 16, 2015, 04:34:00 PM
How can anyone have a real idea of what an alien would build or what it would look like? A simple look around this planet tells us architecture can be hard to second-guess.
well in terms of the supposed dyson sphere, theres really only 1 efficient and sensible way to go about it; youre pretty much housing a star to utilize its resources, and theres only so many engineering approaches that make sense in implementing something like that. example, youre not going to build  a triangular prism around a star, it only makes sense that a spherical-shaped structure would be used.

just judging from 1 article: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/forget-water-on-mars-astronomers-may-have-just-found-giant-alien-megastructures-orbiting-a-star-near-a6693886.html

it seems the discovery is based off of unnatural, ie man/alien made patterns.

From what I understood from the article and didn't really understand about it, was how where they able to locate this sphere that completely surrounds a whole star?  Wouldn't that sphere just be "hidden" by the darkness of space, since within the inside would be the star?

Honestly I'm just amazed how they were able to locate this thing from earth...
953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price going up for no apparent reason? on: October 16, 2015, 04:28:39 PM
I guess Gemini and the sidechain have somewhat caused the upward movement. Whatever it is, I'm loving it. Smiley

I tend to think also that these positive things have started this rally! Some people here actually think that all of this is just a dead cat bounce or a manipulation of sort! Smiley

I hope they are not right! It's great to see Bitcoin in green!

I think it's a mixture of both Gemini's and China's market in bitcoin picking up... I read somewhere that yesterday there were like a million coins being moved around or something of the sort.  With those kind of transactions, it's always going to be a good day for bitcoin Smiley

Yes I forgot about China, even though they are people accusing them how they volume has sky rocketed yesterday and that they are surely faking their volumes. But maybe they really have started buying, who knows.

Also we had another bounce today. We have broken $260 on Bitfinex. More and more it looks that this is not a dead cat bounce, looks like a start of the rally!

Yeah, I'm not sure of what exchange sites people in China would typically use now and days.. but hopefully this isn't a Gox market increase all over again.  Maybe people are really wanting to stock up before the halving happens and it would be too late... Idk, whatever it is I'm liking it as of right now!
954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: cash remains the only option if there's an emergency on: October 16, 2015, 04:15:45 PM
My tight buns are all the currency I need when the world ends.

Everything other than that needed to defend or sustain life is an abstract irrelevance in a full on collapse. All those gold stackers will get just as much of rude awakening as the space cadets trying to trade their paper wallet for some antibiotics after their cock's gone green.

That's no joke. A tight ass and a closet full of antibiotics are all the money you'll need in a major catastrophe. I'm waiting for the big pandemic to come from Asia or Africa that can't be stopped. Something like a new and improved airborn Ebola or H1N1 with rapid onset and death. When martial law happens and the looting starts, I'm not taking food. I'm going straight to the antibiotic section of the closest pharmacy and wiping them out. I'll work out the exchange rate later. Maybe one 500mg keflex for a case of corn and an hour with your wife. lol

Haha, I literally lol'd at this.  The thing is with speculating about what's going to happen when an "apocalyptic" even occurs, is that there is no way to know what kind of threat you are going to be facing, so there's really no idea how to prepare for it.  You don't know whether it will be a massive flood, comet hitting earth, nuclear warfare, air borne virus, etc. etc. ... But if it gets to the point where people will riot, you need to be one of the first to act on it to get the most goods as possible.  And for me, I would probably not think any thing of the situation before its too late, so I just hope that nothing like that would happen.

And why would you need a tight ass and nice buns?? lol.
955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Start a Gambling Site on: October 16, 2015, 10:23:53 AM
Is it still profitable to start a gambling site? Or is the market already saturated?
What do you think is the most profitable gambling site to create?

Its not too late.. you can still start it/. but the main thing is you must have creative mind and must provide something extra in your site which others are providing,.. why would somebody leave their fav site and come to yours? there must be a reason.. and you must find that

It looks like this has been stated multiple times by people on this thread.. I think the main question that's being asked, mainly by Harpua, is that how would one act on that idea, with no coding capabilities.

Personally I'd think going to a legit online gambling site maker and asking them if they would want to go in on your idea would be the best bet imo.. I wouldn't try sneaking around laws.
956  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 16, 2015, 10:17:43 AM
Just check the bitcoin price chart, i haven't seen the bitcoin price like today for a long time.

The bitcoin price just hit ~$261, is is around 6 USD increase in the last 12 hours. To the moon..

RIP to all the "RIP Bitcoin" threads... I think since we have gotten some good solid exchanges for people who want to go in on a "legit" manner through Gemini, we are going to see $300+ after this month... Maybe Tongue
957  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 16, 2015, 10:00:58 AM
Welp... On the Bitcoin ticker I have, we have officially reached $260! High fives all around!
958  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 16, 2015, 09:08:09 AM
When the bitcoin price will reach to at least $500 ? I am just waiting for that day. So that I can get more fiat money exchanging my bitcoins.

Would you really consider cashing out at that price point? Honestly I see it going higher by the time next year comes around during spring time... If it jumps to that price and want to get rid of them, by all means.. Go ahead.. But I won't consider it until it goes to a 4 digit number... Until then I'll hold Smiley
959  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 16, 2015, 08:57:37 AM
Wait for the halving and you will see 2x/3x at least

I hope so.I cross my fingers for it to happen!!
Mid of next year and a price of $500-$700 would be awesome.

If it rises too much, it will drop a lot.

I'm not so sure about that.. When Bitcoin went to $1K from $100, it was a steady but rather quick jump to $1K... I'm not saying this is what this increase in price necessarily means.. But I don't think the price is going to drop all the sudden back to sub $200 levels again.
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 16, 2015, 08:51:05 AM

Why would you want Bernie Sanders to be at the forefront of Monero? Bernie isn't at all the poster child for this, because it would be against the Feds and private banks, which I would believe, that he is good with... Plus he's socialist, I thought the majority of XMR folks here were libertarians... spying and analysing your data is going to be his specialty.

Sorry, one last semi-off-topic political post since I just found this clip.  There was some discussion two pages ago about how Bernie would be bad for crypto (and Monero) and I disagreed.  I gave a link that showed he is staunchly against NSA spying, and I recently found this clip where he tears into Wall Street and the banks for abusing the money creation system:

https://youtu.be/WeZI3lhnOKg

I doubly stand by my statement that out of any possible candidate, Bernie would be *by far* the friendliest President for cryptocurrency.  Vote however you like, but it's important food for thought.  We will need the kind of people in power that can ease Monero's rise to dominance.

Well I mean since there are no other candidates on both sides of the table who are major contenders, from what I've seen, have yet to dive in on the privacy/NSA issue; then I guess he is out in the lead in that aspect. I just don't see how Rand says something about the dangers of NSA spending/dangers of private banks he is called a nut; but if Bernie says it he gets applauded. I haven't watched the video yet because I'm on the way to work.. But I assume the video says everything you said it did.
