41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 10% collateral BTC loan...real or scam? on: November 26, 2019, 06:29:55 AM
Whatever the collateral percentage is and whatever the yearly returns is, there's literally NO WAY I'm going to lend money to a telegram group. Imagine a scammer so bad at stealing money that they don't even bother to spend some money to rent a server and start a website.

Not only that! If indeed it turns out to be scam, then there is no way he can recover his funds because he is dealing with mostly anonymous individuals with no known office address, identities, etc., which in short, he is dealing with ghosts!

Maybe he can file a legal complaint but I'm sure he will just be naming his respondents as John Doe's and Jane Doe's!

I forgot to mention that they ask for KYC
Of course! They have to ask KYC to make it more legit as most real lenders would do to identify their borrowers! Smiley

Idk what to do, i am in quite in need of cash to do My startup, but not willing to risk or idk
Why not take a loan lets say to a friend, a family member or a person whom you personally knew! I guess this would be the best recourse than to trust unknown entities which put you to a greater risk. Imho.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Clipboard hacking restarted again on: November 25, 2019, 03:13:20 PM
Recently I read 2-3 articles about Clipboard hacking. Clipboard hacking works through some malware in your computer silently. It mainly works for wallets. While you copy any wallet to send funds and paste it to the recipient address bar, it will paste the pre wallet which was set by the hacker on your clipboard. You might be thinking certainly that you have copied and pasted the correct wallet. But later you see, the fund goes to the hacker wallet. So, be careful while you send funds, make sure you are pasting the desired wallet.

Perhaps all of these hacking incidents was mostly due to human error and negligence as what previous posts mentioned.

But of course! I guess all of this incidents could have been very well avoided if we have adequate and updated defense systems installed on our machines like a good Antivirus or Anti-malware. "Prevention is better than cure!".  Smiley
44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 10% collateral BTC loan...real or scam? on: November 25, 2019, 02:13:57 PM
~snip~

Stay away from it! Its a pure scam that offers attractive conditions to lure you to send your BTC! And beware, these bad actors could very well approved the loans of some people and use his/her testimonies to lure others into a trap!

If you really want to have a loan with more peace of mind, then you may try to visit other established crypto lending platforms but of course, evaluate first and act with extreme caution. Imho.

Disclaimer: Post above is not an advice. Necessary caution on these lending platforms is greatly encouraged!

Still I didn't see any update coming from the team! Ideally, they should give us some motivation to support this project and give us hope but I fear the opposite is happening!

Now I hope the team could give us some relevant information about the project so that we don't feel like we've been left behind.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IEO] LIVE! MOOZICORE - World's 1st music streaming service on blockchain! on: November 25, 2019, 11:48:43 AM
are u both thinking that bounty hunters is the one who's responsible for the fall of MZG price?
Dude, can u read my comment above?

The MZG Price is already fall before it's unlocked, means before Bounty Rewards distributed.

Please do not take the blame to bounty hunters because you are also part of them

If you can take a look at the chart https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/moozicore , then you can get the impression that most bounty hunters had a hand in MZG's current price as it fell sharply on November 14, 2019 which coincides the release of most bounty rewards.

As such I don't wanna blame any bounty hunter as I chose to hodl my MZG's, its a matter of personal decision. Smiley
47  Local / Pamilihan / Re: 🔥🔥Binance's Shanghai Office CLOSED! Kaya nga ba bumulusok si Bitcoin?🔥🔥 on: November 25, 2019, 09:48:28 AM

48  Other / Meta / Re: Use of TOR Browser for Bitcointalk on: November 24, 2019, 01:05:22 PM
Lots of misinformation in this thread.

If you really want to use TOR, then maybe you can initially opt to install Brave Browser and chose Private Window with Tor.
Brave browser, with or without Tor, is a very poor choice if you are worried about privacy.

If you are going to be using Tor, then it might be worthwhile bookmarking your captcha bypass login link that you can access here (https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php), as otherwise you'll be filling in captchas for 10 minutes every time you want to log in.

I agree, that is why I have also pointed out the possibility of using the Tor Browser itself if OP wants to have more privacy as stated in my previous post.
49  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency investments in Airbnb and other large companies on: November 24, 2019, 12:36:19 PM
~snip~

I see you're trying to convince us to invest with your company but I'm afraid you will get little interest from the community since most of them, in one way or another, had experienced different kinds of crypto frauds that you will find it very hard to convince them or believe in your ideas.

Moreover, your pitch will arouse suspicion since you didn't even include important information such as your company name, address, website, etc., and other important details about your company to prove that it isn't fictitious.

Now, if you really have a very good business model, then you may try to convince those traditional investors who are serious into investing because I feel you will get more likely to be disappointed pitching you ideas to the crypto-community.
50  Other / Meta / Re: Use of TOR Browser for Bitcointalk on: November 24, 2019, 11:30:25 AM
I am currently using Firefox but i want to use TOR browser to login Bitcointalk. Is it safe to use TOR browser as i heard it is a dark web browser where hackers can hack our credentials and information ?

If you really want to use TOR, then maybe you can initially opt to install Brave Browser and chose Private Window with Tor. But if you want full pledge security, then you can try the Tor Browser instead but it will have differences with browser capability as compared with Brave Browser which has more features bundled within.

After the news has been denied/debunked, why would anyone spread that? Is this an Uncle Sam operation to push down bitcoin? Hehe

CZ announced late Friday night (PST) that “we”—seemingly implying Binance as an entity—will be “suing them.”

52  Economy / Economics / Re: New bill would make Facebook’s cryptocurrency a security under the law on: November 23, 2019, 10:21:42 PM
If this proposed bill is a product of lawmakers, then there is high probability that their fellow lawmakers are as insane as the authors and sponsors of this particular bill and everything will be passed, at best with some minor amendments. Furthermore, please correct me if I am wrong but the overwhelming majority in that body despise Libra and Facebook, even cryptocurrency and Bitcoin.

Of course most of these lawmakers doesn't have any idea on any after effect if Libra becomes operational that is why they are speculating negatively including the idea that it could create a disruption upon the U.S. dollar and could have unintended consequences along the way.

Perhaps it would be fine to assume that these lawmakers are being lobbied constantly by most financial organizations that are anti crypto so we expect Libra will receive more pressure from lawmakers.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: New bill would make Facebook’s cryptocurrency a security under the law on: November 23, 2019, 02:27:39 AM
I have to say that this law is sheer stupidity. A stablecoin is a security? How in this effin world is that possible? The lawmakers in the US are mostly out of their damn sane minds. Facebook's cryptocurrency is a stablecoin. It is nothing but a mere cryptocurrency version of their very own effin fiat money that is as useless as the one that represents it. Libra is plainly a currency. What makes it a security then?

Well technically that proposed bill will not yet become a law until it passed the scrutiny and approval of lawmakers which could then be subjected to debates and discussions!

In fairness, I think filing that bill was very premature considering that Libra hasn't been officially launched yet in public. As such, I was wondering where did those lawmakers got the idea since I understand that Libra is technically not yet in existence and their decisions would be purely based on assumptions and imaginations!

Conversely, Facebook may have portrayed Libra as a stablecoin but such assertion is subject for debate since the initiators are mostly private business companies that the U.S. Government may classify it as a security. Interestingly, there is a framework by the Crypto Rating Council on classifying a digital asset if it is a security or not and would be glad to see whats their take on  this issue.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/21/new-bill-would-make-facebooks-cryptocurrency-a-security-under-the-law.html

Quote
A new bill called the “Managed Stablecoins are Securities Act of 2019” would make Facebook’s libra cryptocurrency a security under the law.

A bipartisan team of representatives introduced the bill on Thursday, which could bring greater regulation to Facebook’s libra if passed.

The legislation follows Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s October hearing in front of the House Financial Services committee. One of the representatives introducing the bill said she was “disappointed” with his answers during the testimony.

Two members of the House Financial Services Committee, Reps. Sylvia Garcia, D-Tex., and Lance Gooden, R-Tex., proposed the “Managed Stablecoins are Securities Act of 2019” on the day of a committee hearing on the role of big data in financial services. Garcia explicitly called out libra in a statement announcing the bill, saying that it and other managed stablecoins “are clearly securities under existing law.”

Once it is a security it is subject to all the regulations that govern securities.

Most importantly, it would be regulated by American authorities (not Swiss as Facebook wanted) if any American used Libra.

If that bill successfully becomes a law, I think it would most likely discourage the Libra Association from continuing the Libra project for fear of any possible issue or issues that may arise with regards to Libra's compliance on securities laws, which effectively puts the project in jeopardy since securities are tightly regulated which in effect could affect Libra operations in one way or the other.

I think its a brilliant move by the U.S. Government in an effort to try to have a certain control over the Libra project where the U.S. Government had doubts and fears on what could be perceived as a threat to its economic stability.

Smiley

MZG's price, though a bit too low as compared for its past 2 weeks price has been quite stable despite the recent market bloodbath where some cryptos have slided down as low as minus 12 percent based on Coinmarketcap's data!-

I guess this stability maybe attributed to the fact that MZG is paired only to USDT at Coinbene and not with BTC or other major crypto. Although it has also a BTC pairing on Sistemkoin exchange, it didn't affect much to MZG's current price instead, it went up more than 9 percent as per Coingeko's data. Had this not been the case, I'm afraid MZG will be further dragged down in today's crypto bloodbath if it was paired to BTC or ETH but fortunately it wasn't!

Looking forward to a fruitful staking program! Smiley
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with security! I learned my lesson. on: November 22, 2019, 03:00:08 PM
I actually removed my phone number from all my Google accounts, because it seems to be much more of a vulnerability than a security or safety measure these days. It's just ridiculous how easy it is to steal someone's phone number.
I think this is a good information to boost our security and now I have plans to do the same in the upcoming days since it makes sense that I think it could significantly lessen any attack vector that the attackers would use to do a security breach on our systems.

Instead of using Google's 2FA app, you might want to check Aegis authenticator instead though. I made a quick topic about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5192978
Thanks for this tip. I think this app is a great alternative to Google's Authenticator and Authy and I find it having a good balance between security and functionality. Will try this asap. Smiley

aba at meron palang ganitong features?salamat dito kabayan hindi ko nakita kung saan mo naipost ang thread na to but this really helps.going to activate mine no.
Nasa account settings dashboard at security tab, need lang i activate or update.
