481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: December 28, 2023, 09:43:39 PM
It is better to withdraw their winnings rather than use them to continue gambling because they cannot double their winnings. By withdrawing their winnings, they can enjoy them with friends or family. After getting their big win, they can return to gambling after taking a few days to de-escalate. And it is also a form of our responsibility towards ourselves to use the winning money to celebrate with the people closest to us. We must be able to be responsible gamblers to avoid selfishness and the desire to continue gambling because we want an even bigger win. It is wise to withdraw the winnings and rest for a while rather than lose all the money if we continue gambling.
I will often leave some pocket change for gambling after a big win, because otherwise i would just eventually have to deposit new money in. But i agree that one should definitely enjoy the winnings especially if it means you can afford to buy luxury. And if it's a life changing amount you are winning, (financial independence). Then it's doubly important to take most of it out.

I have seen that same thing so many time in crypto investing and gambling. And that is delusion that you can keep on going for ever. Keep on making profits and there's no end to that. It's really easy to say from outside that we should take profits out when in fact no one know where the top is and if there's going to be more profits. So many of us ride higher to get more pofits, but forget that it's not going o last. Eventually gravity (zero sum game) takes us down

I have been guilty of it too.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seems it's alt season... Any suggestions..? on: December 28, 2023, 08:35:51 PM
-cut-
Is there any particular one you would suggest for me to research on?
Do research on those that you listed and post results in here. As you just listed them. You didn't offer any links or explanations why are you chose them. Or better yet, edit the first post, where you add some detailed info on every token. Just basic facts would do, like the fact that $Snek is a cardano native asset. That would have added a lot. Now this is just going to be lazy thread where people list random tokens, as the bar is low already.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRC20 or BEP20? on: December 27, 2023, 10:18:28 PM
BEP20 should be cheaper, but TRC20 is more widely used. I'd go with the latter if the plan is to hold this for the long term, there's is no point in holding something that's only supported by one centralized exchange, and a couple of DEXes.
It has been most popular network for it, but every site i have used that has accepted TRC20 has also accept BEP20. They are both widely used compared to some new networks like arbitrum, which i would prefer for a long run. As in the future anything cheap and reliable will be adopted as the prices of tx fees will rise with the adoption.

But i really wouldn't mind using either one of the choises OP has. If the fee is under $1 it's nearly free in my book.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if DEXs are banned in the future? on: December 27, 2023, 10:08:21 PM
Governments seem to come up with something new to prevent crypto from achieving its full potential. From cracking down on mixers and enforcing KYC across centralized exchanges, they aim keep crypto under their control. The only things they can't manipulate or enforce the rule of law (aside from blockchain networks themselves) are decentralized exchanges.

But what if governments decide to hunt down the developers of DEXs? Or what if they estalish a law where developing a non-compliant DEX (no-KYC) can be subject to prosecution (jail time or fines)? If that happens, the industry will be doomed. With a US senator drafting the "Digital Currency Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2023", anything's possible.

What do you think will happen if DEXs are "banned" in the future? Will they die? Or will they still survive (despite the fact that most people will avoid them to prevent jail time or being fined)?

Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
It might go so far, as it seems most dexes are in core very centralized, but more plausible scenario is that they need to blacklist addresses to stay alive. Uniswap has done this and i am guessing other relevant DeXes are required to do this also.

I am guessing that some dexes will just get more automated and decentralized enough that they can't be shut down. This would leave most of the AML law responsibility to centralized financial services that are required to freeze money from blacklisted accounts or money from mixers etc.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google and X ads are the new weapon for crypto scammers on: December 27, 2023, 09:59:29 PM
Nothing new with this. Crypto scammers have always been using twitter and google ads. Just like any medium and chatter that crypto people are following.

This goes as far as i can remember. It just have become more profitable for scammers as more and more people are aware of cryptos in some way. Advertising them in google in 2015 didn't make as much sense as most of the people didn't even know how to buy them. Or how to interact with them.

486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why this Altcoin called Worldcoin could have a huge potential? on: December 27, 2023, 09:45:13 PM
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/microsoft-commends-minecraft-s-integration-with-worldcoin/ar-AA1lYYGC
"Worldcoin, predominantly known for its groundbreaking “Orb” device, utilizes retinal scans to generate a unique IrisCode. This code is then tracked on the project’s blockchain, creating a World ID that serves as a form of “proof of personhood.” Participants in the Worldcoin ecosystem also receive airdrops of WLD crypto tokens, a critical element that ties into the project’s broader objectives. The unexpected move involves Worldcoin’s app integration, utilizing the World ID credential for user verification."

This fomo has been quite misleading. Only source for this is from worldcoin:
Quote from: LuckPerms
With Worldcoin's Minecraft server mod, server admins can issue roles with existing permissions systems like LuckPerms to prevent players from performing certain actions until they verify with World ID.

Reason being: It's for a mod, and that means, maybe some worldcoin users want to try it out. I don't understand why they would, but i guess it's not my business. Rest of the people keep playing other mods and minecraft. Minecraft has over 100k mods, so i am guessing they will ignore this one.

In short: Anyone can make mods. Minecraft / mojave / microsoft are in no way part of this, and changes are that they end up banning worldcoin too, as they have with other web3 integrations.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Terra LUNA revival Imminent on: December 27, 2023, 07:05:54 PM
$AVAX pumped from $9 to $50
$SOL pumped from $8 to $120
$INJ pumped from $1.10 to $45
$FET pumped from $0.05c to $0.75c
$LINK pumped from $4.90 - $17.00
Bitcoin $BTC was dead at $15,500 now see🔥
Now they are saying $LUNC $LUNA is__

Expect the UNEXPECTED

Station V3 and massive launches coming in January 2024

Who is "they"? And there's a major difference between LUNA and these coins: None of the founders of the coins you listed have caused $40B+ crash or are in jail, except for Kwon Do-hyung. IMHO shilling luna is just irresponsible and immoral. Do we really need a reminder how did it played out? How arrogant Kwon was when i was pointed out to him that UST is not sustainable?

Tell me again why shouldn't we forget luna just like we should forget Kwon who triend to escape with falsified documents.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MATIC or DOT? on: December 27, 2023, 06:53:41 PM
Hello,
Is MATIC better or DOT? Which one has better potential?

Thank you.
I don't get why anyone would consider DOT when we know cross-blockchain bridges have been vulnerable for so many hacks out there. Also, what they are developing is not that interesting in the first place, While in comparison. Reddit has adopted MATIC for their NFT avatars, and it's huge for their growth. Dot is not in the same league imho, they are very different solution to very different problem. So they are not in comparable in any way. Even if we considered only price growth, i would go with matic. Although that is if i had to choose. If i wouldn't need to choose from those 2. I wouldn't pick either one.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have we overlooked the many potentials of altcoins? on: December 27, 2023, 06:47:42 PM
A lot of times we have been down so much away from the role altcoins play in the cryptocurrency industry,  because there is no doubt the fact that many times,  we have come face to face with issues and challenges that make us to look for an alternatives,  and which is the reason for altcoins creations already,  such as fees,  congestion and speeds.

These have been most of the challenges that we face in the cryptocurrency industry with majority of the time our preferred coin may face network issues and we need to look for alternatives,  this has made it very important for us to discuss the best possible means to make use of altcoins as alternatives when there be network crisis.

What are the best coins to use at a time when there is network congestion in the main meme pool?
If we ignore all their other issues and benefits, and use them purely for sending value, then Eth layer 2 like Polygon, Optimism and Arbitrum. And i am not talking about those tokens but usdt send via those networks. Then there are obviously BNB and i've been sending SOL lately as it's accepted widely. But i am guessing if they shut down their network once again, it will crash in value pretty hard. XRP and Litecoin used to be main answers to these and i guess to some they still are, as i know some people want o avoid L2 and stick with the decentralized choices with fair distribition like LTC.

But i am not sure who exactly is overlooking these, especially in altcoin discussion. I think they are more over hyped then ever.

490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 06:01:10 PM
I know for sure that if we take periodic account of how many times that we gamble, maybe weekly, monthly or yearly, we'll find out that the loses are far greater than the winnings, so I sometimes wonder how we can be indulging in something that we lose far more than we gain, in the name of having fun. I know that it's human nature to want to conquer, defeat, control and be the leader, yet we go into gambling knowing that the system doesn't give us a fair advantage of achieving these aims, yet we're happy to go back and likely be defeated again.

Perhaps deep down in our conscience, somewhere that we don't like to listen to, it still tells us the truth that the reason why we're going to gamble is to hopefully win money, not really to have fun.

I know that it's said that you should gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, but will you call it a true fun when you know that there's a higher probability of losing your bet?
It shouldn't become as surprise that we lose from time to time. If you are not having fun with gambling. Step out of it and ponder your reasons why you gamble. Because if you are gambling purely for steady profit, you might want to consider other means for it. Part of the fun is not knowing if you win or lose. And that winning big happens so rarely.

Even if my losses would be greater then winnings, that's not only reason i am gambling. It's a past time like any other. Most of the fun you do with your life is not profitable. In fact most of it costs a lot. At least with gambling you have a change to make that money back, and a small change to win big. But as a personal note, it sounds like you need to take a brake. As in your text you are talking about yourself, even though you distance yourself and use "we" instead. And looks like you are looking for people to agree with the advice to yourself..
491  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 26, 2023, 11:25:34 PM
On top of the basic customer experience, it would be interesting to see several reviewers around the world teaming up, trying to create different problematic scenarios and see how their customer service deals with different problems that happen problems like Testing how tedious process is getting your account back when you lose your access to 2fa. Or accidentally sending unsupported tokens with layer 2. And if customer service would bother to help to get them back even if that technically wouldn't be their responsibility.

Reason it would make sense to be a team as you would get better sample size then one reviewer making multiple accounts (which is against the rules), or making several problems with one account, which could just flag the person as an annoying problem user and we wouldn't get realistic responses.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ordinance (ORDI) a good altcoin to invest? on: December 26, 2023, 11:06:54 PM
Checking on binace, ORDI has been in the list of top gainers for long. The last time I saw it, the price was something like $32 but today the price is now $74 with %40 growth in coinmarketcap and it hasn't show any sign of giving up. So i started thinking that is ORDI a good project to invest this bull season?

What do you guys think about it?
Maybe for getting airdrops by holding them or something. While growth has been unbelievable, i don't understand why this token specifically would beat other coins and tokens during this bull run. I mean there's only so far to go and there are hundreds of others that haven't moon yet. And they seem to be ready for that. ORDI might do 3x depending where the other altcoin marketcaps are going to be, as average level of altcoin marketcaps with top 100 could rise radically. But i still don't understand why ordi would be best choice by any means.

494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 25, 2023, 02:18:17 PM
I played Roulette on a casino three days ago and it was obviously my first-time playing Roulette, I literally didn't understand my way out and I just knew I should select a number and click on spin. I did that obediently and time after time, I lost. I was really motivating myself with the next spin, and next and next, but all to no avail, I was lost in the ride until I drained my deposit for the day's gambling, that time It dawned on me that my Ignorance has contributed to my parallel losses for the day, I just logged out and ended that day's session disappointed.

Yesterday, I was discussing with my friend on my experience, and it was more obvious that my Ignorance played a major role in my bitter experience days before. It was after I was whipped badly that I went back and saw the demo option which I should've used to learn before I engaged. Also, I wish to advise all new gamblers to visit demo space in the casinos where you can learn before you start playing with real money cos I think it will help people master the games before engaging to have more fun, because not only did I lose money that day, but honestly, I didn't have any fun.

I would like to ask if some people here has experienced this too and what is the possibility that most people who experience repeated losses are Ignorant of the game play patterns.
In table games like roulette, most of your problems if you wouldn't understand how to play would come from situations where you are covering everything but zero like betting equally everything in red and black. That won't bring you any profit but you have a small change of losing everything.

It surely helps your gaming experience if you know how to play, but it's hard to bet "wrong" in roulette. Even if you play all on something where you have small changes to get, you would get higher reward if you won.

That being said, i don't play crabs or some other games, as i don't know the rules. Not because i would have higher changes to win if i knew the rules. But because i wouldn't enjoy the game.
But rules for the basic roulette are very easy, and you probably can even learn them by looking when people play for a while.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where TO Find Quality Air Drops on: December 25, 2023, 02:10:40 PM
Can I know where I can find quality airdrops? I started doing airdrops but No idea whether they are scams or not. And also I have a question regarding tweeter tasks of the airdrops, they say to like their twitter page and retweet. but There are two options when it comes to retweet, "Repost" and ''Quote"
what should I do? retweet or quote? please answer
Look at the past ones that actually paid a lot. Almost none of them were publicly announced before they made a snapshot. Any site offering constant high paying airdrops would be instantly flooded with bots and sweatshops that would get the lion share of any profitable airdrop, rendering shares to low value right away.

So, answer to your question You have to be lucky. Use new interesting projects before anyone else. They tend to reward that, or have rewarded in the past. Trick is that you have to have used them in a right way at the right time, so people who are trying their luck with multiple new projects would quickly ran out of money while trying every new project in every possible way all the time.

There are no airdrop sites where you jump trough the hoops would get you any significant money. You'll get way more money using your time mining coins or actual paid work.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Gambling Affiliate Program Problem on: December 25, 2023, 01:58:55 PM
Hi Everyone,  Smiley

I have an online gambling related question. I don't know if this is the right place to post such a question, so I'm sorry if I posted in the incorrect forum.

I'm a Gambling Affiliate and something is bothering for some time. In most of the casino affiliate programs that I registered to, I can make a little amount of money or nothing at all. Did anybody encountered a similar problem?

Thanks,
Idan
Describing this as a problem would indicate that you used to make money with it, or someone told you that you could make big bucks with it.

I don't know personally anyone who got paid big for it (then again big is subjective number here), or made a decent living with just it. You are getting a small fraction of the money inflow of people who you invited. It's going to be small pocket change or even less meant for rewarding you for new players. If you get lucky and invite whales, then it's another story i guess. But even with those, they would need to be playing and active. I am only using referral links for the casinos i am playing in anyhow. So everything is a bonus to my gambling budget.

Most of the times you probably won't make a penny as changes that people you manage to get high rollers registered that would play enough are pretty small.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 25, 2023, 01:49:14 PM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?
Casinos don't decide who is mentally unstable. That diagnosis happens by medical professionals. Even though mentally unstable is not a name of diagnosis, but a wide spectrum of disorders in layman terms.

And they can (depending where you live) appoint a guardian of interests, that controls patient's (or is ward or right word for it?) monthly / weekly / daily / allowance that they  can use how they please. Even to gambling. Money for rent, food, electricy bills however are the responsibilities of the apponted guardian.

But one could ask if someone who is just intoxicated enough could be responsible for their choices betting everything while drunk. Should they be protected from themselves as well? As i've seen "mentally unstable" people being more responsible with money.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Solana - Is it still good to buy or it's FOMO on: December 25, 2023, 01:21:25 PM
Solana has been in rally for a while as lot of speculations and news around it and new tokens on it's ecosystem has been credited for it's rally, shall we consider this as beginning and is it a good time to take entry? Someone new to crypto would say "Yes" but those who has been here for a while would be hesitant because we have seen SOL rising from $15 to $259 and then witnessed the downfall as well to less than $8.

I personally feel little bit confused because somewhere I feel if I enter now then I will be doing it in FOMO. Please share your opinion whether we can still take entry or should we wait if there would be any possible market correction and this is not for long term investment.

No one knows. But we can present theories on where we are. Most bullish scenario to me is that to me this looks like first leg that isn't even finished yet as there has been no retrace yet, and there will be 2 more (B & C) coming (if you believe in elliot wave principle that is). This one could go as high as ath imho. This scenario makes my skin growl as i was playing with sol nfts when it was $20 and less.

But that would mean we are heading towards altcoin season so big, we have not seen anything like it before. As classically wave 3 is the largest. But i am saying big in terms of in flowing money, not in necessarily terms of gains.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are airdrops allowed? on: December 25, 2023, 01:06:07 PM
I have a telegram channel where share information about airdrop and I was thinking if I could also share them in this platform, I was thinking of doing it in my country’s language place but I do not know if the master’s of the forum will allow it or not.
As long you are not asking for wallet addresses for them in here as that could be considered as "on-forum altcoin giveaway", or any giveaway in altcoin section because that's against the rules.

You can share a link for a them as long it doesn't include referral codes and you are not using url shorteners. And obviously it isn't a phishing / scamming site with a wallet drainer etc...

Just use common sense and use some time to make actual thread about and explain it as deeply as you wish if you want anyone to be interested.
500  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Neural implants on: December 25, 2023, 12:47:40 PM
What if it could give you unlimited access to knowledge and ability to speak multiple languages if you want to understand what I mean watch upgrade(2018) it's a sci-fi movie it shows the potential of such a tech.
This is science fiction and nothing to do with neural implants they are developing. But without any risk, most people would totally take them if they could afford it. If they ever existed that is.

If neural implants became fully legalized and available to the mass public would people use them?
That's a vague and broad question. For what?

I think that people would approve them if i had a terminal illness or degenerative disease? Most likely they would be up for any experimental treatment. But there are companies that are more shady then others and i would probably die in peace then have a product from a company with a CEO who desperately wants to ignore regulations.

And in the future, when these would be available, "fully legalized" could mean few different things depending on the future we are headed on, what regions is it approved in and what instance it is approved by.

But let's say they are approved by every regulatory section across the world the world. They most likely have relatively pretty high change to cause complications and some brains would be rejecting them. Then it would be up to the disability they would be installed for. I am guessing people with ADHD wouldn't want them, or some people with schizophrenia. But people with spinal cord injury, amputees wanting robot limbs would definitely consider them if they absolutely needed one. But i am guessing it's not going to be cyberpunk world rules, where people get them for better reaction time, better memory and augmented reality vision. Even though those would be cool. They would just not be not worth the risks.
