1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 Series Full and Mini Modded Efudd NO-DEV FEE 100% - Individual Clocking on: October 31, 2021, 07:56:13 PM
does this firmware allow a 4th hash board?  I was told this is possible with the mini.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 4th slot on Z9 Mini Control Board on: October 31, 2021, 05:08:22 PM
Can you use that 4th slot for another Hash board or is it designed to somehow chain them together?  Minergate sells a z9 mini with 2 cases, 4 boards and 1 controller.  Is that a custom firmware that allows that?

I have a few spare z9 mini hash boads and some working mini's to play with.

Thanks!

3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Block Erupter Ethernet Controller issue? For ASIC Tube setup on: February 09, 2015, 06:18:01 PM
I have 2 800 gh ASIC tubes connected to a Block Erupter Ethernet controller.  Today I was replacing power supplies (for more efficient ones) and when I turned everything back on my block erupter ethernet controller no longer responds.

I use the default 192.168.1.254:8000 for statistics and, sadly, can not get the device to respond to even a ping.

I know enough about them to set them up and jumper them, etc.  but how do I troubleshoot the controller?  Do these things just go bad?  Often?

Any ideas?

Will the controller respond (normally) with nothing but an ethernet cable connected it to it?  I've tried connected, disconnected, using the reset button, etc.  If you have a suggestion that may help me figure out what is wrong I would appreciate it.

Chris

Oh I wish it was that!  Sadly this is my only S3+.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 15, 2014, 10:14:15 PM
Well maybe it DID finish flashing, HOWEVER, upon restarting I can not access the gui at all.

The web browser never registered a response from the unit so the page showed "flashing" even after the unit had restarted itself (and stopped working).

Rare problems occurring seem to be what happens to me.  Wish there was a way to re set it.  Holding that reset button does nothing.
6  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 15, 2014, 09:25:18 PM
I don't like this at all.  How can any company continue to exist if they sell a product that they will not stand behind less than 30 days after receipt?

I did NOTHING more than flash to the latest firmware in an attempt to fix a problem.  This caused more problems so I attempted to flash back to an older firmware.  The flash never finished.  I have pressed the RESET button which is supposed to do a factory reset.  My network is 192.168.1.x.  The controller no longer responds and the answer on the official Antminer S3 Discussion and support thread is  "good luck getting a new one"??

There must be someone with an interest in Bitmain as a company that is able to offer a proper and helpful suggestion.  At the very least they should sell replacement parts.

Looks like I won't be buying Bitmain hardware again.  Was about to buy the new water cooled one but if they can't support their simpler units what hope do I have?

No wonder BTC keeps dropping  Between PBmining type scams and crappy mining hardware supported only other users who can only share in the pain.

OK thanks so how do you contact bitmain to get an RMA?  I received mine in mid November.  Can't find anything about how to start the process.
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 15, 2014, 08:17:38 PM
How do you know how long you have left on your warranty?  I didn't purchase from bitmain directly.  In any case, there must be a way to purchase the controller alone.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 15, 2014, 07:48:59 PM
So following the advice about re-starting cgminer the device came back online but only hashed at 40ghs average after several hours.  I restarted and had similar rates.  Thinking the only change I made was flashing the firmware to the latest version, I decided to try and go back to an earlier firmware.  It never stopped flashing.  Does this mean the controller is a goner?

Tried the re-set button.  Can't see the device on the network or communicate via direct cable.

How does one go about getting a replacement S3 controller?  Presuming I can't get an RMA, can they be purchased?

Any ideas to get it back to a working firmware?

Thanks again.

the fields are not blank.  I removed one pool, leaving 2.  I added back in a third to humor you.  Nothing different.

Yes it is dhcp, yes it is getting the address from dhcp.

I can even ping , nslookup and tracert from the diagnostics page.

Uptime: 0h 4m 28s
MAC-Address: 20:59:A0:CA:3B:B0
RX: 200.01 KB (1438 Pkts.)
TX: 239.70 KB (691 Pkts.)
IPv4: 192.168.1.99/24

How will resetting he network help?  I can connect fine.  Everything was working fine.

Yes it is brand new AND I believe was from batch 10.  I received it from a vendor who shipped mid November.  Was that 10?  Regardless it was new and using whatever firmware it shipped with.

ALL I did was remove a pool and save/apply.  Nothing more.

Please help.

My brand new S3+ (batch 10 I believe) was running great until an hour ago when I changed one of the pool settings.   Since that re-start neither of my boards show up.  Its on its own power supply (EVGA 650).

HELP!  Is it dead?  How?  What can I do?  I lowered the frequency, took off the cover and checked all the connections.  nothing.

Hey Bitmain!  Since most of the world isn't going to buy your S4 at that price, do you have any plans to offer more S1 upgrade kits?

Did you discontinue them or just sell out?  Can't seem to find out from anyone if you expect to have them available again.  Lots of S1's out there that we could upgrade in order to mine coins to buy your S4 (after you lower the price, of course!).  So you see, leaving us with S1's and the rolling batches of S3's that are bought more often to be re-sold than used only hurts your S4 sales.  Kit me and make me happy.

Listed as Up Coming now from bitmain direct.  Oddly, those I have saved in my shopping cart are still available to be ordered.  Would love to get a few more (have 2) since I still have some S1's staking up space.

20  Bitcoin / Mining support / ASIC Block Erupter Cube, not working, hardware problem? on: July 10, 2014, 08:51:29 PM
Hi,

I bought a block erupter cube second hand from a guy who said it worked great.  I have a spare 750W power supply but it has only 1 6 pin PCI-e so I bought an adapter to convert one of the sata connections to the PCI-e 6  pin.  Anyway, I plugged it all in, shorted the ps so it stays on full time, and....nothing.  One green light goes on then it looks like the other lights for a second and then the cube powers off, shorting my PS with it.

I can get it to not short the PS by plugging in no more than 3 boards.  Never does the ethernet port ever show a light (with or without a cable) and I honestly don't know enough about these things to figure out what may be wrong.

I was told the board has a lifetime warranty but how do I know if it is my cube or some other problem, perhaps with my power supply?

Tips or help are welcome.

Chris
