61  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Major Bank crash will be THE BEST time for bitcoins. on: August 20, 2014, 12:19:45 PM
awaiting another country to go under (cyprus all over again)

How high did bitcoin go up when Cypus went under?

Argentina going under doesn't seem to have any effect on coin price.

The leaked Mt.Gox data shows that practically no Cypriots had accounts on Gox (the dominant exchange at the time).

The Cyprus crisis was just an excuse for a rally and not necessarily the actual reason for it. The real reason for the Q1 2013 rally was due to ''fear of missing out'' by Western techies.

So, bitcoin is over hyped and it will not stop the world from sinking into a black hole of debt.
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maybe falllling is right? on: August 19, 2014, 07:12:15 AM
i am always right, bitcoin is going to nowhere but down!

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Nice photo to debunk the quote. People should stop using the phase over and over again.

Nice if they are able to get approval from Apple and iTune store.

Is this an exception or other developer can offer wallet service from the store?
64  Economy / Economics / Re: Transferring out of Bitcoin on: August 18, 2014, 08:20:11 AM
I'm trying to figure out what stage is set here.
There are a lot of companies accepting bitcoins in pretty nice volumes.
Are they transferring out to fiat as soon as they make a sale?
Are they waiting until a certain day of the month and dumping coins?

I read that overstock made a deal with coinbase to handle the transfers immediately to dollars, but I also read they were going to keep a certain number of coins too.

Are the markets too thin to absorb large dumps of coin back into dollars?
If these companies were more transparent about when they'd be dumping coins, would it offset these slides we've been seeing?

Since Dell can't pay its employees in Bitcoin or buy its advertising in Bitcoin, there is a need to get back into dollars.
But, until advertising agencies and employees accept it, the massive flow OUT of bitcoins is going to be pretty rough.

Just thinking outloud.

Dell probably have a merchant account with bitpay or coinbase where the payment processing companies will do either monthly or weekly settlement with them.

This place is such a cult like atmosphere, mocking people who want to get out after losing a substantial amount on their initial investment. cognitive dissonance at its finest. I'm worried what it will be like when price drops into the $300s... just don't drink the kool-aid, please.
He is being mocked for calling bitcoin an "investment". I have never invested in bitcoin. I use bitcoin and have never lost a penny. A real investment provides growth to it's investors by design. Bitcoin is nothing like that, was not designed to be that, does not function to provide growth.
If he had started by reading the white paper he could have saved himself a lot of money. Instead he takes no personal responsibility for his ignorant actions and says "You guys fucked me over". Give me a break.  Roll Eyes

The current mood for bitcoin community is trying to get rich holding bitcoin. Can't really blame someone trying to become wealthy.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am done with Bitcoin! on: August 17, 2014, 11:11:18 AM
It just goes down and down. I am out of 30% of my investment. This technology sucks.

You guys fucked me over big time, convinving me that this was real. It was a fad all along. Ponzi scheme at its best!

Sold all at 550-510 levels. I am out. Done. Bye.

(would a retard say)

The price is going back up again. Are you coming back?
67  Economy / Economics / Re: How profitable are exchanges? on: August 17, 2014, 11:08:44 AM
Very profitable.

Bter just paid a hacker 440 btc to return 42M NXT coin rather than just close down the business and declare bankruptcy.

68  Other / Off-topic / Re: BTC Balance of BitcoinTalk Members on: August 16, 2014, 07:48:58 AM
Most younger members here do not own more than 5 btc.

If you check the coin on wallet distribution, less than 10% of the wallet owned more than 10 btc.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 things you should know about Bitcoin's competitors #bitcoin #facts on: August 16, 2014, 07:46:35 AM
The technology change too fast in the altcoin world.

Based on observation, most of the new coins do not last more than 1 year before it slowly fade away.

Need to give them a medal of courage for publishing such garbage.
71  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: August 15, 2014, 07:15:30 AM
Wish I bought gold rather than bitcoin.

You wouldn't have made any profit with gold either, its price barely moved in the last six months.

Bitcoin price went down a lot for the last few months. Gold has been relatively stable.

Wish I bought gold rather than bitcoin.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ex-Credit Suisse manager turns to Bitcoin on: August 14, 2014, 01:06:29 PM
To be honest this chap sounds like a bit of a douchebag bandwagon jumper
Hope my impression is wrong!

Jumping in after the price is so high is risky also.

Looks like he made a mistake if he bought this week.

Cost is way higher than a traditional credit card.

Have a difficult time believing the teen acted this way. Even then, shooting him is still way out of line for the local police.
80  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anonymous - #OpFerguson on: August 12, 2014, 07:16:20 AM
The fuck?

That kid tried to wrestle the gun from the cop while kicking and wailing inside the cop car.

What, he wanted to take the gun because he was going to throw it away?

Why is it that not a single of the 'witnesses' for this kid have a video evidence in this day and age when even a cheap phone worth less than 50 dollars have one?

No more shuck and jive, bitch.

Where you get your information? Is it accurate to what really happen to the tragedy?
