1.Winning Life-Changing Prizes: For some individuals, a significant win in gambling can change their lives for the better. There are numerous stories of people winning large jackpots in lotteries or casinos, allowing them to
pay off debts, support their families, start businesses, or pursue lifelong dreams. These instances of financial windfalls can bring newfound stability, happiness, and opportunities into the lives of winners.

Do you know how many users lose to see a 1 user with a life-changing prize? The casinos are not the ones who pay those prizes, are the loser gamblers who pay for it. So each time you see someone winning a big amount it means tons of people have lost huge amounts. And with the right luck any one of us could get that crazy win, but we have the same odds to find a wallet full of money on the streets than hitting that crazy win.

145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have the potential to impact climate change? on: March 23, 2024, 06:27:44 PM
While Bitcoin itself doesn't directly influence climate change, there are concerns surrounding the energy consumption associated with Bitcoin mining. The process of mining Bitcoin requires substantial computational power, which in turn demands significant amounts of electricity. This electricity often comes from non-renewable sources, leading to greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to climate change. However, the extent of Bitcoin's environmental impact varies depending on factors such as the energy source used, mining hardware efficiency, and operational location. Efforts within the cryptocurrency community aim to address these concerns by promoting sustainability, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and improving mining hardware efficiency. Thus, while Bitcoin may not directly change climate change, its energy-intensive mining activities raise important environmental considerations.
Does Bitcoin have the potential to impact climate change?

The Energy consumed by miners is huge nowadays, and not only for bitcoin, remember there are a lot of coins that need hardware miners to validate their blocks. And this energy most of time comes from dirty sources... But if we power off all the miners, did you think the energy production will decrease?, i don't think so. Is like the dilemma of vegans, if you become vegan you think less cows and chickens will die? the answer is no.

And why are we worried about the climate change? what makes you think the climate is a constant? it has always been changing and is a natural process that we can't stop.

Thanks for your answers hosseinimr93 Yamane_Keto PX-Z Amphenomenon, especially to hosseinimr93, the information provided was priceless.

If we have to download/sync the full blockchain then it isn't cool at all, i was thinking for pruned nodes we only had to sync the last blocks, and that would be cool and fast. But i was wrong it would take the same time to have a full node as a pruned one.

And the resync on the new wallet is something that i don't like at all, it even sounds like a nightmare.

I will leave the thread open for those who have more questions about this kind of nodes.

We are selling a Crypto Gambling Software that operates without providers. With this software, you will have your own games, your own chat, and your own Bankroll/Deposits/Widrawals engine.

We offer 4 provably fair games: Plinko, Dice, Slots and Derby

Users can modify their Seed and verify each bet, and it's the user's decision if he wants to have a random user seed for each bet or make it constant.

We currently have 2 versions of the software, one for Clamcoin and another one for Litecoin, but the software can be migrated to any other coin. The clamcoin version has the staking feature, and that's cool because it makes a profit just by holding the bankroll.

Clamz

Litez

Right now we are working on the Bitcoin Version called Bitz, it should be ready in less than 1 month. After that, we will start working in "Tokenz", it will be the smart contract version.

148  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: BitMEX - Flash Crash -> BTC a 8900 $ (durante un par de minutos) on: March 22, 2024, 03:07:57 PM

149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Questions about pruned nodes. on: March 22, 2024, 02:04:43 PM
I was reading about pruned nodes, and want to use one for a personal project, but i have some questions, from what i understand a pruned node is the same software but we add the prune factor in the config file.

As a reference I'm using this guide: https://www.vpsbg.eu/docs/how-to-install-a-full-or-pruned-bitcoin-node

Quote
Firstly, navigate to the Bitcoin website and download the latest version:

wget https://bitcoin.org/bin/bitcoin-core-22.0/bitcoin-22.0-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

After downloading the file, you will need to extract its content:

tar xzf bitcoin-22.0-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

Next, execute the following command in order to begin the installation process:

cd bitcoin-22.0/bin && install -m 0755 -o root -g root -t /usr/local/bin *

Now comes the most integral part - choosing whether you want to run a full or a pruned Bitcoin node. To run the full version you can simply type the following command, which will begin synching with the blockchain:

bitcoind -daemon

Depending on your connection’s speed and the size of the database at the time of you downloading it, the process might take up to a number of days, given that the blockchain is constantly expanding.

If, however, you would like to run a pruned node, you will have to create a special configuration file, which you can do with this command:

touch /root/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf

Next, open the newly generated file in any text editor and insert the following line:

prune=550

Do not forget to save the file! After that you can again begin to sync with the blockchain using the same command as that for a full node:

bitcoind -daemon

Additionally, you can check and monitor how the syncing process is going with this command:

bitcoin-cli getblockchaininfo | grep verification

You will be presented with something that will look like so:

"verificationprogress": 0.7052169307479244

Remember that the ‘verificationprogress’ parameter does not need to reach 1.0000, as a value close to 0.9999 would indicate that the node is already synced.

That's it! You should now have a fully functional Bitcoin node!

And my questions are:

Why do we use prune=550? what does that 550 mean? Can we change that value?

How much space i need in my hard disk for the pruned node?

Ver:
https://www.elplural.com/sociedad/estructura-mafia-rubiales-criptomonedas-irregularidades-eurocopa_326878102

     seoincorporation :

I suspect you wanted to change the client seed during the rotation of the roulette .

      Smiley Cheesy Grin

       www.BitRoul.com

I didn't try that, but for sure if we do that the new seed goes for the next round while the current roll is using the old seed.

I never get the 0.01LTC back, i get a mail with the next text:

Quote
Only after they have been confirmed on the blockchain will you receive an email within 8 hours with a link to claim the refund.

But never got the mail about the refund. But not a problem at all, 0.01ltc doesn't hurt, but I just want to let you know, that maybe you should make a test on your site to understand how the refund process works.
152  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do I tell people about my crypto escrow services/server? on: March 21, 2024, 04:55:14 PM
This is obviously a small service so there is no possibility of "drop 5k on ads and see if it works" ahah
...
If I have missed any information that might be useful for you to give me your opinion, please lmk. Thanks!

You don't have to drop money on it to make marketing on social networks, if you use the right hashtags you can start making some noise about your service and that will attract new possible customers. Just use the most popular social networks and try to make daily posts about it. You will see how your total followers grow until you get to the point where new customers use your service day by day.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your worst nightmare in a casino? on: March 21, 2024, 04:14:34 PM
My biggest nightmare in a casino is to win big and don't be able to withdraw. And I have seen a lot of people with this problem. Usually when a gambler wins a big amount the casino request a Kick process but if the user fails in the process then he will not be able to withdraw, and that is a terrible experience for the user, because he is literally doxing himself for money.  And I'm not saying the KYC process is something wrong, but some times casinos make bad use of users' data, and that's a risk for everyone.
154  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Trezor – Cuenta de Twitter hackeada (resuelto) on: March 21, 2024, 02:42:01 PM

156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Quiz] Answer the Bitcoin question and earn merits! #2 on: March 20, 2024, 05:27:44 PM
It can be 0... That's a fact.
I just gave two recent examples. How can it have zero probability?

Sorry, it was a typo, I want to say "can't".

I have seen both scenarios in the past, the one that shows us 1 block in 1 hour, and the one that shows us 5 blocks in 10 minutes... And the first scenario feels terrible, waiting more than 1 hour for a confirmation is a nightmare.

Getting back to the main question, what's the probability? i would say 33%, because having 1 block in 10 minutes has a chance of 100%, having 2 is 50%, and 3 33%... But my logic is too basic, as i mentioned in the past post, a lot of facts are involved.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Quiz] Answer the Bitcoin question and earn merits! #2 on: March 20, 2024, 04:58:33 PM

Using this formula I got 0
Where :
Random number (K) = 3
Time interval (t)= 10
Parameter Rate(a) = 10
e = 2.71828

It can't be 0... That's a fact.

It's a tricky question because there are factors involved like Mining difficulty and the total hashing power on the network... The 10 minutes is a constant written on the Bitcoin code, but the ones who find the block are the miners, so, if the difficulty is high and the hashing power is low, the probability of finding 3 blocks in 10 minutes is lower than the case where the hashing power is high.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 19, 2024, 11:47:20 PM
Adin Ross is one of the most famous streamers in the world right now, with his content having hundreds of thousands of hours in watch time. Of course much of his content is direct promotion to slots games and such gambling. Perhaps Kick should add some limits to how "controversial" a streamer can be in their platform. People like Ross were banned from twitch after maaany violations.

What do you think about this? Do such people deserve a platform even on Kick?

The problem was on Discord and not on Kick, a fan on Discord committed suicide while Adin was watching...

We know how gambling can ruin lives, if someone loses his life savings for sure he will think for a time about ending his life, but is a stupid move. First of all, we know the basic rules of gambling, and you shouldn't gamble more than you can afford to lose.

This will only cause some drama around Adin, but nothing will change at all.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 19, 2024, 11:22:06 PM
Latest update guys Jake Paul has officially cancelled his match with Tyson one day ago, I'm yet to investigate the reasons, just quite funny tho, I feel he might be scared to lose to a oldster or maybe doesn't want to fight tyson, what do you guys think 😀,  I was really anticipating a good match from our legend but it turns out, matchs cancelled 😀.

When you said the fight was canceled, I immediately searched for information related to it both on social media and also goggle, but honestly I didn't find a single news related to the cancellation of the fight, I think when you said that it would be good for you to share the source of the information so that we don't get Confused by all the issues that are circulating right now,  Honestly, I personally wouldn't believe it if the fight went canceled without a reliable and credible source of information at this time.

Those are fake news, the fight is still on, Jake Paul hasn't posted anything on his social networks about canceling the fight, he even made a post 2 days ago on tiktok where he showed how he is getting the same tattoo that Mike Tyson has in his face:

https://www.tiktok.com/@jakepaul/video/7347112952387980586?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7305193676279924229

If he would cancel that fight that tattoo wouldn't be there.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~~~When did you first heard about bitcoin 2024 Halving edition~~ on: March 19, 2024, 06:15:06 PM

That's a fun video, but i don't like the part where it say "Bitcoin transactions are free", we know how crazy the transaction fees can be, and we all have paid for each transaction.

Getting back into the topic, i read about Bitcoin in 2013, and i fell in love from the start, that same day i got some btc in a casino that had a nice chat lotto, you only had to be active in the chat and from time to time it used to ask for the user address to send a "rain"... the bitcoin price was lot at that moment, something like $300/btc. Those were crazy times.
