If the Fed wants to bring Bitcoin investors to their knees, they could just announce a FBI auctioning of the remaining coins.

That could easily bring BTC to the 200's and lower.

BTC was a cult, and at the heart of it an evil demon.

Lady death has unfinished business with it.

when crypto traders begin flinging themselves out of windows from their parent's basement, that's capitulation.

Bitcoin is the only way to go

We will see! =D I keep my bet, HUGE ripple success and bitcoin going down slowly, not disappearing because it's useful to have something trustless.

You're in the wrong thread with your centralized premined Nipple currency with a supply of 8 billion.  If gold can fill up an Olympic pool due to scarcity, Nipple can fill the Pacific Ocean.  Go away!

Just bought 4.04981270 more at 493.85 this afternoon, went straight to 485 but now rebounding.   Grin

Bitfinex increases allowable margin from 2.5 to 3.33 on Monday.

That should decrease margin calls and may even spark a rally.

930  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase has sold out of bitcoins for the day. Bullish on: August 17, 2014, 02:35:38 PM
I got that message when I woke up. But just now Coinbase allowed me to make a purchase of 0.2 BTC. I wonder if they let me do it because it was a small purchase or because their day rolled over.
Me too.  Went to use the bathroom twice this morning at $510 and then $500 but got that error trying to buy.   Huh

When I finally woke up for good at $490's I could finally buy again.

Actually was a blessing in disguise. Grin

Oh by the way, I got the Coinbase brush off this morning...the message about exceeding limits. But I just now bought 0.2 BTC with no problem. Not sure if it means they resolved the issue or if the buy was just so small.

I think the Coinbase issue was causing no buy support at Bitstamp.  I tried to login several times at 510 then 500 but got that exceeded limits error (blessing in disguise).

Then, once it hit the 490's it started working again and I was finally able to purchase.  Grin

Wonder if this is some form of manipulation.

933  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bank account suspended for buying bitcoins? on: August 16, 2014, 11:39:56 PM
Same in the United States.  The Big Four banks are not happy seeing large ACH withdrawls to Coinbase.

· JPMorgan Chase
· Bank of America
· Citigroup
· Wells Fargo

Do you know which banks are good in the US to use for bitcoins? TD bank and HSBC should be good? Any suggestions?

Credit Unions are mentioned in this reddit thread.   I use a credit union for my ACH withdrawals to Coinbase, so far so good for the past 4 months.

936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just Sold $1k worth of Bitcoins to... a Black Guy (gasp) on: August 16, 2014, 02:14:02 PM
What bothers me more is the fact that OP sold bitcoins ... at this price... insane
Talk about a bad calls ..

Check the date of the OP and add a percentage to Bitstamp that would allow one to continue with a perceived risky situation and it turns out to be a good trade.

Bitstamp Aug 16 $496 (current)
Bitstamp Aug 03 $585

FWIW, bought 5 BTC yesterday.  Will buy more on continued weakness.
