we need some noob-guide mining on the OP to make MRO interesting!

i found about MRO in this thread a week ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=613072.0

I never mined before. I even beside, installing bit coin wallet a year ago and do some captcha solving to see is not worth doing it, know almost nothing of all of this.

That tutorial got me rolling quite fast. What I dont know I ask or just try and what is most important I learn.  Cool

When i trying transfer moneros on poloniex, there is an error: transfer is too big. 8 or 6 or 4 or 3 monero- it does not matter- always error. what i am doing wrong for this time?

Have you tried really small amounts? The transfer being too big is cause by many small inputs coming together. Like in effect, if someone sent you 3 moneros and then sent those same 3 to someone else, then the transfer would be relatively small in size (bytes). But, if someone sent you .01 moneros 300 times, to make 3 moneros then your transfer would be really big in size (bytes). It's just how the protocol works for now. There's usually nothing you're doing wrong. Have you tried sending extremely small transaction sizes? like .1 MRO? Also, are you trying to send to or from poloniex?

It was to poloniex. Ty a lot- 3 moneros too big, 2 moneros and less was send succesfully.  Smiley

But if transfer fee are always 0.05- it is not good, that monero use that fee  every time when i send 0.1 and 0.2 moneros because of wallet feature  Undecided

I think, well as i read, people use second wallet, they transfer in 1 or 2 Moneros batch there, from their mining wallet. That will allow you to transfer from that second wallet in higher numbers. But i might read it wrong, i am way from there yet.  Tongue

Hash Rate: 92.91 H/sec on simple changed to cpuminer 175.2 H/sec
Posted from Bitcointa.lk - #LmuwOSAVkOu0osyb

I'm thinking about mining this coin. How much can you hash at 175H/sec?

Is it worth it?

With 175 H/s you should get 1.19 MRO per Day

I thought Monero was a combination of the word "money" and "dinero" (Spanish for money).

But it turns out Monero is the Esperanto word for "coin".

Why not, Esperanto is mix of many languages, well basicly all languages are mix of other languages. Just Esperanto is recent ones. Tolstoy learned Esperanto in 6 hours.
9385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Going to start mining, but what? on: May 29, 2014, 09:56:26 PM
I have:
i5-2320  3.00GHz
8 GB Ram
GeForce GT 430

What mining i should take? CPU, GPU? Maybe there are more.
I started 3 days ago and i went on the one i first found well explained. CPU one. But just now remembered, that 2 years ago when i was buying comp, my CPU was not stronger part of it.

Works now Smiley

Hi, is there a problem with mining on monero.crypto-pool.fr ?
I startet with mining there some hours ago, now with 500 - 700 H/s (reportet under "Your Stats" with my wallet address), but I'm getting nothing, nada, zero...
Any idea?

BitWalker

i mine there from my mining start 3 days ago and i see we get paid at some time of day, not every hour. I guess that is how it is, like someone has to print stamp on transaction.

have win 64 and used new miner, and i get that: Stratum connection failed: Couldnt resolve host 'monero.crypto-pool.fr'

I used same batch command as with old miner, just changed path a bit:

C:\Monero\Wolf\minerd.exe -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://monero.crypto-pool.fr:6666 -u 47mqJC8hHQ65TmSiDnKN9scsqtKzTwQLLLroTboyKtHsR69m6BGYsA1ZkeTWguqzr59tbnJ3GrKjphS WUdQ8XW8kRf8bYmJ -p x -t 4

Limecoin sounds so refreshing. And i love Travian, well i used to love to start them, never stick on any server for long. Might get tempted to start new round.
9391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO][HOW TO] Install GUI wallet & mine Monero on Windows on: May 27, 2014, 08:51:38 PM
is it normal that "Total Paid: 0.218357406033 MRO" is at this figure for like a day? I started yesterday morning and got fast to 0.2 and had lower hash as now, then it just stopped adding. I know i am probably to pushy, but might have something set wrong.
9392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO][HOW TO] Install GUI wallet & mine Monero on Windows on: May 27, 2014, 04:20:08 PM
I can't figure out the right commands to use for cpumulti... I've been adding and removing all kinds of things and I can only get it go as far as binding the threads, attempting hashes, but then "failing to connect to stratum".

Opening a launch.bat immediately closes, so I've been using cmd.

Is anyone successfully using cpumulti on a win 64bit that can share their command line?

This is mine command line in batch file. I was also getting lots of "failing to conect to stratom" . Just now started working Smiley
C:\Monero\cpuminer\minerd.exe -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://monero.crypto-pool.fr:6666 -u 47mqJC8hHQ65TmSiDnKN9scsqtKzTwQLLLroTboyKtHsR69m6BGYsA1ZkeTWguqzr59tbnJ3GrKjphS WUdQ8XW8kRf8bYmJ -p x -t 4

So as i understand harsh rate is all that matters and on this page, http://monero.crypto-pool.fr/ ,  when you put your address you see it? Whatever change that boost hash rate there is good and that decrease it is bad? Or i should monitor it elsewhere?
If i log off when block is find, do i still get my part for the time while i was adding hashes to the pool or not?

https://github.com/LucasJones/cpuminer-multi/releases/download/v1.0.3/cpuminer-multi.zip

Should be cpuminer better then simpleminer? They say you can use stratum and is for 64bit win.
9394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO][HOW TO] Install GUI wallet & mine Monero on Windows on: May 26, 2014, 06:42:47 PM
So stratum protocol, can also work with simpleminer?

Batch file command line should be?:
C:\Monero\simpleminer.exe --pool-addr=stratum+tcp://monero.crypto-pool.fr:6666 --login=47mqJC8hHQ65TmSiDnKN9scsqtKzTwQLLLroTboyKtHsR69m6BGYsA1ZkeTWguqzr59tbnJ3GrKjphSWUdQ8XW8kRf8bYmJ --pass x

or i typed pool address wrong?

Another question is, about threads. I think my computer have 4 chores. i5-2320 @ 3.00GHz  So i should run batch file 4 times, for best performance, to have mining running in 4 cmd windows?
9395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO][HOW TO] Install GUI wallet & mine Monero on Windows on: May 26, 2014, 12:57:46 PM
when i open CryptoNoteWallet, i get in slider name of valet i created, when first opened it, and have to write password i selected. But yesterday had problems open more then one valet. it was so late i probably miss saw something. All Valets you make are in folder where you extracted ziped wallet. This morning i just delete all and unpacked fresh wallet there and then open .exe and make fresh wallet with pass. and now works.
Thinking about it now, maybe was reason wallet was not saved. read somewhere it save when you close it. But this is just a thought of a noob.
9396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO][HOW TO] Install GUI wallet & mine Monero on Windows on: May 26, 2014, 10:43:41 AM
OK, i found where was mistake. The first post should be edited with new pool-addr=monero.crypto-pool.fr:1111

Another question is inside vallet there is "solo mining" and "pool mining" with also this pool address, cant be this done from there? or why is that there?
Thx for your answers in advance, sure many are to come.
