181  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin difficulty may actually go down in ~12 days! on: July 02, 2014, 09:07:34 AM

I hope my math is wrong but 200k S3s would mean 100PH/s which is simply absurd. It would require 10-20M$ AT LEAST just to build them so your number is WAY out of line... Just like AM who was dreaming of selling 60PH worth of chips in 1-2 months.

20,000 units maybe, so ~10 PH.
182  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] DataTank Mining: 1.2MW 3M Novec Immersion Cooled 2PH Mining Container on: June 30, 2014, 10:00:46 AM

Of course the 3 months _initial_ build time is long, but the DataTank plan is long term. After that it only takes a few hours and everything is re-used. Again and again. And don't forget that after the initial phase, the production pipeline is setup and we can produce 1 or a hand full or even more per week.

Re: build time. My understanding is that DTMA will purchase chips at the time it is ready to deploy? Is this correct?

Yes that is correct.

Antirack is Alex Kampl, VP Engineering @ Allied Control & DataTank mining.

That's all folks Smiley

For those who are not from Iceland all company information can be found at under fyrirtaekjaskra (namf is search by name)

This will usually list the kennitala (public tax number of the company) as well as the legal and mailing address. For instance you can try searching for my company here in Iceland (Icetor ehf.) or the datacenter project manager of Moria Datacenter (Datacell ehf.).

Additionally some of you may remember Datacell a few years back, as the company who sued and won against a Visa payment processor who started refusing Wikileaks donations.

There are only two large datacenters in keflavik here in Iceland. Advania and Verne Global, so intil Moria DC is built your miners are ending up in one of those two locations. I'll be happy to answer any other questions about hosting here in Iceland, but remember Caveat Emptor! is a wholesale customer of Verne Global, just like CloudHashing and others.  Our corporate entity is headquartered within Australia.
