121  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin really save Greece? on: August 12, 2015, 09:13:28 PM
It would be nice imagination. When only 1% from the greece population of 11 million would start to using bitcoin, then bitcoin would be unstoppable. The volume would be explode with over 100.000 more users.

Its amazing how people hype over greece with bitcoin.

But if the greece people arent using it and they dont show they care for it.. its a shame cause they could move their money around.
122  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Account on: August 12, 2015, 09:09:10 PM
im broke and unemployed for 20 years no retirement for me lol

being broke is a choice man.

you just have to find something and work on it. To be more detailed, 20 years is a long time for not having work which means you could be launching projects. Esp theres resources like kickstarters out there and end up having your own business.
123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maximum price bitcoin 2015 on: August 12, 2015, 09:05:24 PM
Do you think the maximum price for 2015

I think it will be around $415

Here is my prediction chart & analysis :

really thought $415 seems a bit too optimisic..

The rates are at mid $200ish, but the thing is how would $200 jump happen. Unless theres some serious positive news that can swing that direction.
124  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 12, 2015, 09:00:49 PM
suppose you sign in many faucet websites, stay online for approximately 15 hours a day for a week. raping the faucet cashout and captcha solving MANUALLY. no bots involved.

how much will you earn at the end of the week?

i have been trying to understand faucets. how much you can make out of faucets a week. every person will have a different answer since there over a dozen if not more faucet websites that you can earn.

taking into consideration that we are spending 15hours on btc and ltc faucets altogether for 7 days in a row.

There is one faucet paying 1200 sat every 15 minutess = 4800 sat hour

There are a few like MoonBitcoin that pay on a timer, minimum 5 minutes between claims, say another 4800 sat hour.

Quite a few that pay between 800-1200/hour, say 1000 average on at least 10 someone reputable faucets = 10000 hour total

There are a bunch of shit ones paying less, but say you really were committed maybe pick up another 2400 hour

So we have 4800 + 4800 + 10000 + 2400 = 22000 satoshis/hr

22000 satoshis/hour * 15 hours = 330000 sat/day.

330000 satoshis/day * 7 = 2310000 sat/week.

2310000 satoshis (0.0231 BTC) * $270 (current BTC price) = $6.237 week

You could make a few extra dollars by playing other alt faucets in-between claims, but you would be working 15 * 7 (105) hours a week for less than $10/week, or $0.095 /hour. This also does not factor in electricity, internet, etc., so it really is not sustainable in any form whatsoever.

who gets excited for $6 a week lol.

I mean thats pretty much slavery in a new creative form. And thats what most faucets are.. I say stop with the madness and build a service around bitcoin or sell stuff instead.
125  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Account on: August 12, 2015, 08:55:05 PM
I wouldn't keep my savings as bitcoin because nobody knows if there will be any bitcoins in use 10 years later.

10 years later, we may remember bitcoin as a pump&dump scam, who knows?

It would be true similar to a dot com boom.

But things seem different and these VC`s put more of smart money into play based on building a sub community so they are actually building foundation.

Compared to back then when people throwing money for magical growth. Only way I see this still being alive is because its a money transmitter for money laundering and has vital purpose.
126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: im new here hope someone can help earning BTC on: August 11, 2015, 05:01:16 AM
There are signature campaigns that earn bitcoins for constructive posts on this site.  Here is a link to the signature campaign thread.  Look for the ones that newbies can join. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

even signature seems not so profitable anymore there are limit everywhere and they are all almost full, unless you're willing to farm many account and join the one that is not full with 4-5 account, and take the risk to be banned from it if they catch you

which is fairly easy because even other members are contorlling now and not only the manager

Yes, but not everybody are looking to earn 0.5 btc weekly. There are people that are more than happy to make 0.1 or 0.11 btc weekly and that is a great way to grow their bitcoin portfolio.

On the other hand, yes most of the signature campaigns are full now and it's not easy to get into one.

well you can make that amount, but you have to be super creative and do what most wont do.

like it can be a unique service you offer with a mixture of selling things you can get for cheap to trade in for btc.
127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn money in this forum? on: August 11, 2015, 05:00:07 AM
Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here. I was just curious how my friend gets income in this forum. I wanted to ask how can I earn money here? thank you Smiley

very small your income if playing a signature campaign with the rank newbie. better buy a minimum account full member, dont worry within 3 weeks of your money will be returned  Smiley

Or try faucets for a while. There are several faucets that are paying the same as a newbie post is worth to some campaigns and the use of a faucet won't get judged for quality, quantity, constructive contribution, etc. Check out Xapo or Freebitco.in, I have a link in my profile if you're interested.

Either way, whatever you decide, there are several solid options for earning some bitcoin on this Forum. And what starts as dust turns in to heaps and heaps of dirt...paydirt!

out of these options for faucet id go with freebitco.in and Id be more into their referral stuff.

since they added a huge thing with winning bitcoin lottery to encourage it.
128  Economy / Digital goods / Re: (FREE) Youtube Channel Art/Facebook Covers/Wallpapers/Logo!! on: August 11, 2015, 04:57:49 AM

its not a logo, but its just editing the content with words and stuff. also do you have any previous work?
129  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest personal bitcoin loss on: August 11, 2015, 04:56:18 AM
I sold a bunch of gold at the top in late 2013 (when btc was over 1k), and it got stuck in escrow while the price crashed.  That equaled probably a $2,000 loss

by any chance did you use the btc to buy the gold 1st? or was it gold that you already had?

that 2k loss is huge.. thats a ton of money like 2 months of rent money.. i feell for you.
130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will price start tanking? on: August 11, 2015, 04:53:50 AM
75% hashrate is required for the change so there will be no real fork.  In other words, we will have one clearly dominant chain.  It will be a non-event and we will just start seeing >1mb blocks after Jan 1 2016.  If there is any effect on price at all, it will probably rise.

But by then we would have a 2 mb increase right?

Someone mentioned this about on reddit and they had a whole debate about it and I think it was anderson or someone who brought it up to avoid the madness before its too late to fix.
131  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: August 11, 2015, 04:50:13 AM
Every time you spend money write it down. Easier to keep track of your expenses if you see them on paper.
Once you know that amount and what you're using it on, you can make informed decisions as to where you can reduce your spending in order to save that money instead.

yes, a budget that you put down on paper/spreadsheet will probably show you some expenses you never really thought of, and its a good idea to add EVERYTHING, even small monthly expenses like $8/month for netflix should be on there, if you dont account for that stuff you're only hurting yourself

You're right in the sense that all the small expenses result in a large expense each month indeed. In order to react on your example of Netflex, some accounts of Netflix allowed you to be shared (with 4 other persons, so in total 5). This makes Netflix really cheap, and much cheaper than a ordinary television contract. Besides that, also on this forum you can find very cheap life-time Netflex account, although I think those account are not legal (thus hacked or something). However, sharing a Netflix account will save you money thus. Especially if you quit your ordinary TV contract.

I mean you can only tally up the #`s so much on excel.

Eventually, you`ll have to cut the loss of whats not needed or lower it significantly. Esp, like internet being on the phone talking about how you can downgrade your service but still have basic internet. From $55 to $14 a month.

I think you bring up good details on how people can really compromise and save money.

But honestly, I know 90% are lazy so they wouldnt go through this process. Most will just try to find other places to earn more then to cut down or try to get overtime from work.
132  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks Suck on: August 11, 2015, 04:48:21 AM
Yup, banks sucks.
There are many formalities to be filled to get a new account opened.
Thanks to Bitcoin, with this we just need a software and can get unlimited number of accounts without filling any formalities.

Banks do suck, but we really have no option.

I mean I dont want to support them, but how would I cash my check and yeah theres the whole check cashing route, but they take fees each time i earn money.. so its not worth it to close my account.

134  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (Almost sure)brainwallet.org stole 22BTC from me on: August 11, 2015, 04:41:10 AM
I don't know why people are so confused about this question of security.
You need 128 bits (or greater) of entropy or randomness. that means 2^128.
assuming 26 letters lowercase , 26 uppercase and ten digits, that's 62.
so 20^62.  much bigger so you're good. simple math with a calculator.
why is this so difficult?

People confuse 20 random characters with simply 20 characters.  20 characters, if they're common words, is not safe.  That's a totally different discussion, and is not basic math.

I wouldnt do 20 id wouldnt be able to remember it.

I probably do a unique of 8 characters mix with 1 capital letter, and 1 # though thats similar to my ebay password login.

Not the best idea, but I find that these situations are rare.
135  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: August 11, 2015, 04:38:33 AM
im doing both buying and selling.. I mean theres a percent of me holding long term, but the rest of what I have I usually sell it.

of course, theres no real good time on when to sell but when i see price points that comfortable towards $300 thats when id sell.

depending on the amount of positive feedback id be open to your price point.

for starters whats the lowest you`ll go for? if theres no room for negotiations on price then ill pass.
138  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: August 11, 2015, 04:27:58 AM
Quit my job and started working full-time for 100% pay in bitcoin starting in 2014. Best decision ever.

how do you pay for bills?

or what do you do to make enough that equals to your full time job? do you sell stuff for btc? or do you other things like day trading?
139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NewBee - How to turn my real money into bitcoin so i can purchase things online on: August 11, 2015, 04:25:28 AM
You can buy Bitcoin through an exchange. from there you can send them to your wallet and start shopping.
You can try Bitquick, or circle. I believe it is the fastest and safest way to buy Bitcoin.

last time I checked all those service sites, like coinbase are horrible.

from like support, and verification process etc. the support for coinbase is just a email address and they dont even reply back sometimes lol.
