1  Other / Off-topic / Re: Buy your BFL bitcoins back from BitPay on: July 13, 2012, 09:29:44 PM
Just to clarify my understanding of BitPay, though, BFL is guaranteed the exchange rate that was in place at the time orders were placed, correct?   (regardless of what you ultimately receive for the BTC)

4  Economy / Goods / FOR SALE: 4 Complete Mining Rigs, incl 13 ATI Graphics Cards - NV/CA on: January 05, 2012, 10:07:15 AM
Hey everyone,

I hope it's ok to post this here.  I am offering for sale 4 COMPLETE mining rigs including cases, motherboard, RAM, CPU, power supply, and of course, tons of ATI graphics cards.

We built these mining rigs about 6 months ago and have enjoyed running them over the past several months.  We are currently moving to a new apartment and unfortunately will not be able to bring them with us due to space concerns.

The timing is kinda crappy for us -- as Bitcoin is back on a strong uptick in value -- but we literally can't take these with us, so we have to sell them.  If you've been waiting to get into mining, or if you're looking to expand your operation given the recent Bitcoin uptick in prices, this is perfect for you.

Here is everything that is included:

VIDEO CARDS
-----------

2x ATI 6970 (Sapphire) - 407-431Mhash/sec
2x ATI 6970 (XFX) - 407-431Mhash/sec
2x ATI 6950 (MSI Twin Frozr) - 428-454Mhash/sec
2x ATI 6950 (HIS IceQ) - 428-454Mhash/sec
2x ATI 6870 (XFX) - 314-340Mhash/sec
1x ATI 6870 (Diamond) - 314-340Mhash/sc
1x ATI 6850 (HIS) - 238-267Mhash/sec
1x ATI 6790 (Sapphire) - 220Mhash/sec

In total, that's 4740-4995Mhash/sec across the 13 video cards!

Since each of the 4 rigs can accommodate 3 GPUs, this allows you to install 12 of these and have 1 as a backup (or for your personal Computer).

Note: all Mhash/sec ranges referenced above are created by taking the range of the 5 highest values reported for that GPU Chipset on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison.  None of these Mhash/sec values are guaranteed.  You are responsible for setting and tweaking all overclocking settings.

CASES
-----
1x Antec 100
3x Thermaltake V9 case

All cases are Tower ATX cases with a number of built-in fans.

MOTHERBOARDS
------------
1x ASUS M5A78L-M
1x Gigabyte GA-880 / GA-880GA-UD3H
1x MSI 870-G45
1x MSI 870U-G55

All have:
 - 3 PCI Express slots to accomodate 3 GPU card
 - CPU already installed
 - On-board networking
 - RAM already installed

PCI-Express Extension Cables
---------------------------------
- All necessary PCI-Express Extension cables are included to install 3 GPUs per machine.  We hand-machined these (to cut a notch in the connector) so that they would work with the motherboards and GPUs.

RAM
---
4x 2GB Crucial stick of RAM

All RAM is installed into the motherboards.

CPU
---
4x AMD Sempron 140

All CPUs are installed into the respective motherboards with Cooler Master brand thermal paste.

POWER SUPPLIES
--------------
4x Cooler Master GX-Series 750w Power Supply

These power supplies served us great while we were mining.

We spent well over $6,000 purchasing all this equipment, not to mention the incredible amount of time researching and ensuring that everything would work together.  We are looking for $3,999 or best offer for all of the equipment.  The only payment method accepted is Bitcoin (convert using current MtGox exchange rate) at the time of delivery/pickup/shipping.

You may pick it the rigs for free from Las Vegas or Los Angeles, or we can deliver them (for a small cost) to Las Vegas or anywhere in Southern California.  We could also ship the rigs, but you would be responsible for the full shipping cost, which would probably be a couple hundred bucks.

We are also open to selling the GPUs only, or to selling a portion of the rigs, but we would really prefer to sell everything as a unit, even at a lower price.  Let us know in this thread or send us a PM.  All serious offers will be considered!

Thanks!

Just got home, I'm tired, and it's after midnight local time. Payouts tomorrow.

Still seeing problems here. Sad
Were you able to connect before?  Did you give credentials? Someone was hammering on the server earlier without providing an address or 'password'....

Anyone else still having problems?  There's 10+ connected and has been since my last post.  This is lower than before today's flakyness started, but is enough that I a hard time believing there's still a server problem still...

I'll PM you my address so you can have it.  About to try this again.

[mods: if this belongs in another forum, please action as appropriate]

Hey guys --

We just did a podcast on Bitcoin as part of our business internet radio show Gangster Profit.  Probably pretty elementary for everyone here, but I think we do a good job of enumerating the many advantages of Bitcoin that should always be brought up when introducing it to a skeptic.

Feedback would be really appreciated!

Is this just reselling another service but with BTC payment?

1.  Dark pools mean that there are more orders entered than visible.

2.  People can add/edit/remove orders at any time.  Trust me, there are a ton of people who will jump in at $10 if we see it get there.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: False bid wall. on: July 13, 2011, 09:34:54 AM
yes, the key in the future will be to see merchants ACCEPTING bitcoin.  That'll provide a real reason to buy BTC other than just speculation.

Isn't there still chargeback risk with a gift card?
