1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Belarus moves to establish legal framework for crypto banks: Report on: January 16, 2026, 12:43:49 PM
During my early days when I started reading about Bitcoin, Bitcoiners used to boast of how Bitcoin anables you be your own bank. Now, the government is trying hard to change that narrative and alot of people seem to be cool with it. Can the government make Bitcoin legal, or ever allow people use bitcoin without heavy regulations? Reading the news, I can see how the emphasis is on strict regulations and compliance.

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Weird Messages on Telegram? Read This on: January 13, 2026, 07:15:38 PM
...at least this one didn't come out straight to present an offer that will lure their victim to stay hooked and give out more information. Anyone who will interact with a total stranger in this kind of way is not only an ignorant person, but a fool. Most scammers don't rush in their style, they take things slowly until they build trust. People can interact with these strangers at their own risk.
4  Other / Meta / Re: How does the whole merit giving aspect work? on: January 13, 2026, 06:58:27 PM
Firstly, I want everyone to have an open mind towards merits. Op stated that he is surprised that people who put in so much efforts in their work don't get merits. We all should understand that merits is  not only reward for efforts made. People should put in efforts and consider it their contribution to the growth of the forum. As much as the you think the post deserves some merits, you should know that sense of judgement is different, and some persons who may find the post interesting may not have sMerits to give out. There is no general guidelines for giving out merits. But as a writer, do not chase merits, put in efforts as usual and you'll get the visibility you didn't chase after.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret behind animals predicting match outcomes? on: January 13, 2026, 06:34:01 PM
I watched this particular video in the op on tiktok, I didn't think they were actual animals, I just thought that's AI video where the dog is doing the predictions and it's getting it right just by chance. Reading the op now, I think op also has a point there. These content creators can do anything to get followers and attract views, likes, comments and shares. So, it might not entirely be a lie. But in real sense,  animals can't predict anything, all they do just happen by chance, they can't analyse anything
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My blood pressure is 180/190 is it good to play gamble in this situation? on: January 13, 2026, 06:17:18 PM
Stress and emotional tension is not good for high blood pressure. You don't need to be addicted before you go through these emotional stress. There is always that suspense, anxiety and pressure you feel while waiting for the results and even after the result is out, leaving you with reality.

I will not encourage anyone with health challenges to gamble, whether addicted or not. Avoid stress completely and prioritise your health more. There are other means to have fun or make money, gambling shouldn't be one of them.

Scam! Scam!! Scam!!!

No random person will find your bitcoins for you after how many years, how was she able to contact you? Why do they want you to create an account with a specific bank and make some deposits into that bank account before proceeding with recovering your bitcoins? This is another scam, do not fall for it. Block the person ASAP and don't be tempted to give it a try.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will Bitcoin be in 20 years from now? on: January 13, 2026, 05:44:37 PM
How do you see Bitcoin in 20 years?
-price?
-utility?
-Market cap
-government
-poeple

price: We have to he honest to ourselves, it is impossible to predict an actual price for bitcoin in the next 20 years. But what I can be certain of is that the price of bitcoin will appreciate greatly.

utility?: In terms of utility, bitcoin will keep being a very good store of value that it already is.  Then, we might witness more daily usage, judging from the poor performance of fiat and the possibility of bitcoin more stable by that time.

government: We can see already that the government is no longer strict as they used to be in the past. Bitcoin will get more acceptance from the government, however, they'll still try to force themselves in through regulations.

people:  More adoption, more sound knowledge about bitcoin; not the get rich quick mindset alot of persons have about bitcoin. The mindset about bitcoin in the next 20 years will change for good.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iranial Rial collapses, Buy Bitcoin! on: January 13, 2026, 04:45:51 PM
The situation in Iran is truly disheartening. Fiat will always be in trouble as long as there is political and economic instability in the country. Protests, tensions and pandemics will keep shaking the fiat. Those who would feel this tension more will be those who have all their savings and investments in fiat.

Comparing the Iranian currency to dollar is not enough because even the dollar is not safe from this mess. Because people, irrespective of the currency they use, are  losing their purchasing power by the day. People are now realising that bitcoin could be what they need in this situation. This is the reason why everyone should try to have bitcoin savings .
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do we bet small on slots but go big on sports? on: January 12, 2026, 05:32:41 PM
It is because of the psychology behind these two; slot and sports betting. You have no control over slot, but can control sports betting. It is normal for players of slots games to want to stake small as they play. Remember the results come immediately, so they can spin as much as they wants. It's quite different with sports betting.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: OF! What's you opinion about it? on: January 12, 2026, 05:16:39 PM
Are we all going to blame the creators of Onlyfans without looking at those who are encouraging these models to sell their bodies for money? Onlyfans is still existing till date because there is a great demand for it. Onlyfans creators are not the major problem, but those who pay to encourage Onlyfans creators to remain in business. If they care that much about the next generation, they should stop giving those models reasons to put their nudes out there for the world to see.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: African Football Discussion Thread Current Topic: 👉 AFCON 2025/2026 on: January 12, 2026, 04:21:24 PM
When I see things like this I just feel there is a selfish motive going on behind that I can't just wrap my mind about it. Initially we saw the Super Eagles play this game with the passion that they want to win the AFCON for glory now they have added money to the whole thing. Now if they ended up winning the trophy, glory will be allocated to this politician as the stimulator of there success.

Plus there is an upside, apart from the regular money they will win if they end of winning it, the players now have an additional bonus, especially the low league players who don't have the type of wages players like the Iwobi's and Osimhen have.
This what happens in national football sometimes not only in Nigeria but you're right but if they'll put more effort to win this AFCON because of this promise then it is fine, I don't think there's nothing wrong with that after all what Nigerians need is for them to win the trophy.
In as much as the end of this promise will result to success, I don't mind, at this point the super eagles need to be encouraged in whichever means, they have rarely played very well, they deserve everything, the Nigerian government need to come up with an offer too if they have not, this will help the players to play everything then know how to play in other to bring the trophy home.
At this point, most countries in Africa want to see Nigeria win this year's AFCON. There is nothing wrong in motivating the players with incentives. Infact, I think they need all the motivations they can get to win the trophy. I do not believe that the glory will go to one billionaire because he promised them some incentives, the glory will go to Nigeria. If these financial reward will lead to success, then it should have the support of everyone. There is nothing selfish about it. People can be very passionate about football and the teams they support that they can give their all to see their team win.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Truly Become a Global Currency? on: January 12, 2026, 03:29:51 PM
I am glad that this time around we are not talking about the possibility of bitcoin replacing fiat in the world of finance. Although it is not yet official, bitcoin is already serving that purpose as a global currency. People already use bitcoin everyday for payments, although not the manner we wish it should be because volatility tends to stand in the way, which has many prefer it more as a speculative asset. Apart from this little limitation, bitcoin is borderless and controlled by no government, it can be a saviour when fiat fails.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: “Anonymous casino” is a funny label, shouldn’t it be “anonymous gambler” instead on: January 12, 2026, 02:43:51 PM
I don't think that is an important thing to discuss. I mean we understand that most casinos have their own marketing tricks to attract gamblers to play on their platform, and usually casinos that don't require KYC will call themselves anonymous casinos, even though in reality they are not, but that is an advantage they want to highlight, which is fine, as long as they don't trick gamblers through terms and conditions that are deliberately hidden.

If a casino still asks for KYC, they shouldn’t be able to claim themselves as an anonymous casino. Even in any situation that raises suspicion, they shouldn’t request data from gamblers to perform verification. But as we can see, many gamblers don’t mind completing KYC at a casino that has a good reputation. And gamblers can play regularly at that casino.
The problem with casinos who claim to offer gamblers no KYC verifications is not the KYC itself, but their lack of honesty.  Casinos claim they are No-KYC casinos but will put in emergency KYC restrictions once large wins or withdrawals are involved. Most of these procedures keeps some gamblers stranded. Some will out of frustration forfeit their wins if they can't fight for their right.

I will prefer an honest KYC casino to a misleading no-KYC casino. Out of curiosity, are there really no KYC casinos? They are all liars tricking gamblers to gamble with them.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do your own research gone wrong on: January 11, 2026, 09:55:39 PM
On twitter you'll witness hypes
On twitter you'll see scams
On twitter you'll see biased information
On twitter you'll experience FUD

All of these makes twitter not to be a reliable place to conduct an important research like investment related researches. It makes newbies very vulnerable because it will be difficult filtering what is genuine from the numerous scams and spams.

There is one golden rule "do your own research from different sources ".
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin destroy the environment or is it just political propaganda? on: January 11, 2026, 09:15:57 PM
I don't think that bitcoin will destroy the environment or even responsible for destroying the environment. Bitcoin mining even used to heat water or even as heating a room while mining. I think it's clearly some kind of attack on bitcoin and they didn't even mention other matters that uses a lot of energy that can really destroy the environment. One more thing, some Bitcoin miners uses solar energy to provide electricity for the mining rig so some of the energy came from solar and also make profit from electric company if I am not mistaken.
They were only spreading the FUD in the early days of bitcoin. I read that there's a new water heater that can be used to mine bitcoin produced by Super heat called Super heat H1. There's a bitcoin mining rig and 50 gallon of water that the heat is used to heat the water.

https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/cryptomining/bitcoin-mining-water-heater-firm-says-its-usd2-000-product-can-rake-back-usd1-000-a-year-in-btc-and-claims-it-can-offset-up-to-80-percent-of-electricity-and-water-costs
Have you noticed that since some governments and public figures began showing some support for bitcoin, most of those exaggerated environmental criticisms have slowly lost their relevance. This is convincing enough that they were really targeted at bitcoin to destroy it and truthfully create FUD among the adopters of bitcoin. Technology is evolving and everything about bitcoin is evolving as well. The issue of Bitcoin polluting the environment is no longer a thing we should be bothered about, they were all one-sided propaganda.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any employers that pay salary in BTC? on: January 11, 2026, 08:31:45 PM
Boy do I hope I find one here in my country because I really don't like the current inflation rate of our country and it really sucks that what I have isn't good enough money to live comfortably with extra money. I think that I might find some employers that would be able to do that though, I have friends that work in crypto start ups that might be able to accommodate that, I think that in any country, that's where you will most likely find employers that would pay your salary in bitcoin.
Bitcoin can best defeat inflation in the long term. If you are going to depend on your Bitcoin earnings to live comfortably daily in the short-term, volatility will be a major barrier. Price swings can be both advantageous and disadvantageous. Imagine it happening at the worst time when you need to pay your bills or payoff a long over due debt. Even if you get an employer that pays in bitcoin, you should look for means to diversify your bitcoins to enable you save bitcoins and spend your fiat earnings on daily bills. You can't depend on bitcoin alone to help you escape inflation.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My first win of 2026 on: January 11, 2026, 07:30:47 PM
I love the fact that you approached this game with the right mindset. You were careful not to stake what you cannot afford to lose and also cautious to split your bets to reduce the weight of the risk for you. Many others will think otherwise about your choice but this is you and you understand yourself better. This shows that you are a responsible gambler that knows what you're doing. Congratulations to you on your win, 2026 started off well on a good note for you.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I wouldn't fall for any trap this year. on: January 11, 2026, 06:44:38 PM
I wounder why some people still want to continue their old gambling life style even in this new year,  this morning I was at home preparing for service when one of neighbor that is into betting stuff came to me trying to persuade me into playing a game that it is a sure banger and that if I will be bold enough to invest big in it I will find him and thank him later.
There are some friends who prefer to give suggestions to others rather than themselves. On the other hand, there are some who are too confident in themselves and do not have the courage to bet on themselves and try on others. As happened in your case. If someone is so confident, then of course he should bet for himself, but instead of doing that, he is giving suggestions to others. The main reason is that he does not have to lose if he loses. And I do not pay attention to such suggestions because I know that no one is sure to win in betting. If I get such a proposal, I ask him to do it for himself.
If I am not confident in myself on a particular gambling game, why should I think that it is best I give it out to someone else? Same game I am not confident in? Some people have audacity, or are they just scammers looking for foolish people to trick into investing in their fake games? If the gambler doesn't have money to try his game, he should let it go, than trying to transfer the risk on someone else.

I am just trying to picture in my mind what that kind of neighbour would look like; one of those irresponsible neighbours who will always look for one means or the other to get money from people around him because he doesn't have a reliable source of income. Who walks up to a person on a Sunday morning to discuss gambling? It is good op declined because I will do same too
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's Your Biggest Bottleneck When You Get a Trade Signal? on: January 10, 2026, 11:29:29 PM
When my trading pattern prints in the chart, my biggest challenge is pulling the trigger due to doubt that where I'm seeing as support and resistance  will not hold the price. As soon as this thought fill my hard, and I'll eventually enter too early or very late. I have worked on this psychological issue and I'm making serious improvements. It may appear like a simple problem but when you deposit real money and start trading, then you will know how tough it is to be a trader.
I am not much a trader but there were quite a lot I needed to deal with before I eventually gave up on trading. Fear, doubt and lack of confidence can be a very big challenge to a trader but people tend to ignore this obvious cause of most trading losses and focus on facts that may not be really neccessary. Many think that trading losses come from poor network, bad signals or wrong indicators,  but the truth is that wrong decisions from emotional pressure is what is secretly dealing with traders and making them miss opportunities.
