1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premiere League [EPL] Transfer & Speculation Discussion Thread on: Today at 08:15:45 AM
  • Guardiola leaving Man City, can they get replacement coach that equal with Guardiola?
  • Xabi Alonso become newcomer in EPL, can Alonso change Chelsea from slumped this season to become champion of season 2026/2027?
  • Will Arne Slot get fired or actually bring Liverpool back to win EPL 2026/2027?
  • Will Carrick bring MU back to champion 2026/2027 after success saving MU in season 2025/2026?
  • Can Arsenal defend their champion title in 2026/2027?
  • Will Tottenham succeed to fix their performance in 2026/2027 and take back Europe competition slot?
I expect Manchester City to struggle for a few years since Pep is no longer at the club. Some say Maresca is the perfect replacement because he plays similar to Pep, however, judging from his Chelsea run, I think the performance of City is going to drop next season.
Arne Slot has been fired already so yeah that’s been sorted. Their new manager, Iraola might just be able to revive the club. Lastly, I don’t see Tottenham making top 5 this season, if they are lucky then they are probably going to finish mid-table.

P.S. Meta is not going to like that there is another EPL thread. Expect a new thread about it in a couple of weeks.

3  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How to protecting your crypto wallet. on: June 15, 2026, 11:50:20 PM
Na better advice you talk OP. The only thing way I go add to your suggestions na the use of air gapped wallets, e go help you avoid casala from phishing attacks.
4  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If Bitcoin becomes daily payment in Naija, which wallet type dies first on: June 15, 2026, 05:59:23 PM
And it's also a lie about saying that sending Bitcoin through the Lighting network is the most cheapest, because sending it through the Binance Smart Chain is the most cheapest and fastest. But however, users will have to be using an exchange wallet to be able to send and receive through this method.

However, in the image below you could see the transfer fees from an exchange wallet (i.e Bitget Exchange), and you can see that even the fees here are even higher than using a non-custodial Bitcoin wallet which has a fee of 0.0000015 BTC.

The thing here be say these centralized exchanges dey add their own fees so the fees you dey see there na Bitget fees no be lightning fee. When person dey use lightning network to send bitcoins, na from wallet - wallet no be from cexs.
5  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: advise on what to do with USDT being received from an unknown address on: June 15, 2026, 05:46:11 PM
So my advice be say make u send di coins back to the address and drop a written note in the remark space if there is any. That one nai I go fit tok ooh. And dat one nai be di only thing you can do if you no want use am.
Like others have said on the thread, it’s best to confirm if it is a dust attack before sending the coins back to the sender address. Quick question - are there wallets that really have “remark space” for users to leave notes? I haven’t noticed this feature before, maybe it’s because it’s not something that would interest me.
6  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: African Proverbs in Pidgin on: June 15, 2026, 05:38:11 PM
If you lock preacher and Ashawo for inside room, one of them must change.
Meaning: Evil communication corrupt good manners.
What if the preacher end up changing the Ashawo, and she leaves the Ashawo work, is that still an evil communication?
That’s a good question. I guess the people who made the proverb were bias and didn’t really believe that a preacher could do that. In retrospect, I think the lesson here is that You are the sum of who you surround yourself with.
7  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can the Average User Truly Self-Custody Bitcoin? on: June 15, 2026, 05:33:35 PM
For most people their desire for convenience tend to  outweighed the benefits of selfcustody.
Self custody no be rocket science. When your money don loss for centralized exchange na that time you go know the meaning of “Not your keys, Not your coins”. Over the weeekend, I see person post for reputation about him coins way one exchange freeze, if he fit make a choice now, I dey sure say he go rather suffer the “inconvenience” of self custody than the so called convenience of centralized exchanges.

Ghana is a minus one, so is Cabo Verde and DR Congo. Morocco played a draw, but the question is against which team? Nobody believed that they would be able to defend against the Brazilians, let alone score the first goal of the game. This stage of the competition is tough, and whoever stands strong through it may not get to face tougher opponents as the game goes. Maybe we're just going to get eliminated as usual in the knockout stage. Don't get me wrong, it's not a wish--- infact, I hope to see something different this time.
lol why do you have to do Ghana like that? To be honest, if not for how Morocco conducted themselves in the AFCON final, many would have supported them in the World Cup. Don’t forget Morocco made it to the semi-finals at the 2022 World Cup, they have an even stronger team this year and may just outdo themselves again this year.
9  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How do you make Bitcoin simple for everyday people? on: June 15, 2026, 05:16:43 PM

E get how you go make the thing simple reach eh, you go end up Dey teach people concepts way go divert there attention commot for watin them suppose know.

Nothing really hard to explain with Bitcoin except when you don Dey enter all those transaction fee conversations, how cryptography Dey work, how blockchain Dey work and the plenty vocabs and principles way apply for that side.

If person don ready to learn, the small way you tell am, e go research to add en own or find undermines to understand the concepts way you don introduce. If them learn the vocab about the industry cef, e dey help person to understand better.
I agree. If you fit explain am for pidgin give person I no see wetin dey hard to understand there. When you dey talk to newbies about bitcoin, no go dey try to explain blockchain network or bitcoin mining just focus on the basics of bitcoin way go get the person interest. Na that interest go ginger them to do their own research later on.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: AI and the job market. on: June 15, 2026, 02:08:10 PM
Now it is important that how should people prepare from now?
When I was in school, in one of the technology classes. We discussed that the matter what, AI or computer can't take away the jobs of humanity from the earth and once that happens, that will be the end of the world. The most functional and useful AI machine or tool still need human beings to help them out. Okay. Example. In the agrarian era, human labour was excess but when the industrial revolution took place, machines took over, yet human labour can't be eradicated. So the something will still happens so I am not afraid for the future computing world.
The world is changing and AI is evolving rapidly, soon it will get to the point where it won’t need human training anymore. Many job roles will be replaced by AI, it’s already happening now. Many people now prefer AI images to pictures taken by professional photographers. They would rather pay for prompts than pay for studio session. Same with entertainment industry, people are now making music and movies using AI. In the next decade, many jobs will become obsolete due to AI so be prepared for it.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Underdeveloped countries on: June 15, 2026, 01:43:01 PM
This is the reality of my country. The politicians continue to rob the nation dry and take loans from other countries just to fill their pockets while the masses suffer. Every year, thousands of women and children die from malaria, WASH diseases, and hunger despite having outrageous national budgets for infrastructure, roads, and clean water.
12  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [CHARTS] Monthly Overview Of Nigeria Local Board📈 Monthly Merit Reward on: June 15, 2026, 01:16:53 PM
We hope to keep getting stronger and stronger as a local board united in one goal to be the face of this forum at large.
I’m not sure that is the goal of the local board. As far as I know, the goal is to help community members grow their crypto knowledge and develop themselves especially those that are more comfortable writing in pidgin.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: African Football Discussion Thread Current Topic: 👉 FIFA WorldCup 2026. on: June 15, 2026, 01:00:11 PM
They used to say that every disappointment is a blessing, now that he was rejected an entry to us but got another offer is a sign that truly there could be opportunity coming unexpectedly, all that is required is our integrity and competency that could lead to our recognition in whatsoever thing we do in life, that he was even nominated by FIFA has got him more recognition than ever before and is one of the talk of the town in football gist today.
True, we can say that there is a silver lining to the story but only Omar Artan knows how he is taking the whole situation. His name will be forever tied to this World Cup incident as the Somalian referee who was denied entry to the US. Omar Artan is now famous - something referees don’t usually get, however, I’m not so sure that it is something he wants to be remembered for.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2025/2026 on: June 15, 2026, 06:58:58 AM

This may be off-topic but my social media feed has been flooded with New Yorkers celebrating. Isn’t it amazing that Arsenal and the Knicks win their first trophy in the same year after it has eluded them for so many years. Can you imagine what’s it like being a fan of both teams? Mindblowing!!
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2026/27 Season on: June 15, 2026, 06:46:03 AM
Meanwhile, Arsenal has the best defense in Europe, having conceded fewer goals in the UCL. So in football, having a working strategy is important. A good coach will maximize the strength of his players while working on their weaknesses. Mikel Arteta ensured that his defense was strong as he tried to use set pieces to get goals. It worked for them this season has the won the EPL but lost the UEFA Champions League. But the ideal team is that which have both a good attack and defense.
Mikel Arteta has reinvented himself over the years, after coming second three times in a row against a dominant Manchester City side, he changed his playing style to one that won him the premier league. I’m pretty sure we will see a different Arsenal next season, how they perform will depend on the signings they make in this transfer window.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 15, 2026, 06:34:37 AM

I can't believe with my eyes. Romano is posting a tweet about Cucurela that's reached a verbal agreement to join Madrid in summer. So i feel this is a big transfer. I meant he has no release clause. So i think Madrid paid so much money for Chelsea for him.
Cucurela is obviusly an upgrade from fran garcia, which is good. This is such a bold move from Madrid. The last time i've heard Barcelona wanted him, but it's now Madrid who get his signature. Damn! what a surprise!
Why is Chelsea selling one of their best players? Does the new manager not want him or was this decision solely the sports director’s. I can picture Chelsea playing a 20 year old as left back. I’m not a fan of Cucurella but if Chelsea has any intention of competing for trophies next season, they need more experienced players in their team, imo selling a player with that quality atm is not the best idea.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: African Football Discussion Thread Current Topic: 👉 FIFA WorldCup 2026. on: June 15, 2026, 06:14:54 AM
for a world class referee that has officiated up to this standard, denying him the opportunity of officiating in the world cup with a promise of paying him his dues is a total nonsense and it would never replace whatever hurt he probably his facing as a result of that global embarrassment. FIFA has always shown their bias in cases like this and especially because we have the united states as the ones that it directly affects, it is no strange that they will keep mute through it all.

The world cup is supposed to be well organized to the point that whatever difference a country has with another should be kept aside at least for ones for the sake of all that the world cup represents. again, the united states have always shown that they are a people of their words and the more we bend to their stand, the more powerful they continue to see themselves.
FIFA is well aware that this doesn’t cover for what has happened, however, I think it’s good that the referee get his salary and bonuses that’s due to him. As for the World Cup not being well organised, I feel like this year’s World Cup is like Russia’s and Qatar’s, maybe even worse. Asides the immigration issues (banning of fans and players from entering the host country), the time zone difference is also a reason why this tournament feels off.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: African Football Discussion Thread Current Topic: 👉 FIFA WorldCup 2026. on: June 14, 2026, 11:59:19 PM

This is the news coming up this morning that FIFA would pay Omar Arthan his entitlement as a referee in the world cup tournament.  Although it is not his fault though that he was denied entry into the US but we expected that FIFA could have intervened in this matter but but it was captured in the news that he was interviewed for straight 11 hours and was still denied entry and from what I read online, the interview has to do with something related to a terrorist group affiliations which he said he doesn't have idea what they are talking about and I believe that was the reason behind his entry denial hence the possibility of FIFA not being able to interfer but to resolve in paying him his benefits as a referee for the tournament. We will keep our hands crossed and watch how it goes after the world cup tournament and see if FIFA would honour their promises as they have said in paying him his benefits.

Source
I'm very sure that FIFA will keep to their promise by paying him all the money he would have gotten in the world cup and this is a good one from them, I'm sure they will not also fail in their promise because it is a small thing for them to do, is not that big so they can actually fulfill their promise by paying him all the money that he would have gotten as a referee in this world cup tournament.

He deserves to get paid. I think he received money from wealthy people in his country, the salary from FIFA at this point is just compensation because I’m pretty sure Omar Artan wanted to officiate in the World Cup as it is a big career boost. So sad that he missed out on that opportunity.
19  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Don’t or blindly totally trust an expert in bitcoin or any other investment. on: June 14, 2026, 11:44:38 PM
Any “expert” or person way dey give you professional advice go always tell you to do your own research before you make your decision because they want make you understand say no be them dey control the market. This na to avoid problems later on incase your expectations no come true.

I was disappointed with Brazil’s performance last night. I was expecting a comfortable victory against Morocco, this Brazil team is a shadow of what they used to be in the past. The football quality has dropped drastically, not sure what happened to this team but I see even more reason why it’s important that Neymar be in this squad.
