3  Economy / Trading Discussion / CRYPTO TAXES in Belgium and Luxembourg on: July 26, 2018, 08:21:32 AM
Does anyone live in Belgium or Luxembourg and does know if there are any taxes on capital gains?

Can't find anything on Google about Luxembourg and only one website about Belgium says there is a new 33% tax for gains with cryptos.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ZPOOL.CA][BTC Multipool] The miners multipool on: April 17, 2016, 02:46:35 PM

zpool does not support the use of workername. Simply supply the BTC address you want to get paid in.

So, can I use just one BTC address for all (three) rigs?

Just to show it IS possible (nsfw): https://ottrbutt.com/tmp/nh-stolen-x11-linux.png

I've not gotten Hawaii working right yet - also doing speedups, but it's slow going in GCN assembly dumps.

Great news !!!!!

Any chance to get such sgminer version for linux users?

Nicehash's profitability calculator tells me R9 380 got 12mh/s.

Link?

I'm not sure if you are refering to this source code:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=946655.msg11319732#msg11319732

Is there any chance to get these high hash rates with linux as well?

It's possible, but not without changing the code.

Which code exactly? SGMiner itself or the darkcoin-mod.cl?

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / (Ubuntu/Linux) Change VDC for AMD R9 290 / HD 7950 and reduce temps? on: April 01, 2016, 10:02:06 AM
How can I change the VDC for my AMD R9 290 / HD 7950 on Ubuntu/Linux to reduce the temps?

The MSI R9 290 Gaming is currently at 92 C with p0 f100 e900 m1250. My first Sapphire 7950 with VDC 1.09 is at 67 C p20 f80 e1040 m1250 but my second 7950 with VDC 1.25 is at 81 C p20 f80 e1040 m1250.

"atitweak -s" shows 0 VDC for the R9 290. How can I get the info about the current VDC for the R9 290 in the first step and change it in the second step?

The (second) 7950 doesn't change the VDC even if I enter "atitweak --set-core-voltage=1.09 --adapter=1"

atitweak --set-core-voltage=1.09 --adapter=1
Setting performance level 0 on adapter 1: core voltage 1.09VDC
Setting performance level 1 on adapter 1: core voltage 1.09VDC

1. AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series  (:0.1)
engine clock 1040MHz, memory clock 1250MHz, core voltage 1.25VDC, performance level 3, utilization 99%
    fan speed 80% (3631 RPM) (user-defined)
    temperature 81 C
    powertune 20%

Is the "performance level 3" a problem because above it shows "Setting performance level 0 ..."?

P.S. If you have a STILT BIOS please leave a link Smiley

First of all THANKS for all your suggestions !!!!!!! The Edimax SP-1101W (wireless) solution looks nice Smiley

but have no clue how and if it works.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Remote Hard Reset for GPU Rigs? on: March 31, 2016, 12:32:02 PM
My GPU rig is much more stable than in 2014 but sometimes only a hard reset works because of GPU freezes or OS (Ubuntu) freezes and I can't access my rig by remote (internet) anymore.

So what kind of hardware do you use to hard reset your rigs by remote?

3495 RPM = 100%

VDC = 0.95

Flash that version that makes the PC boot. Or try Ubuntu, usually linux isn't picky about modified BIOSs and lets it boot.

The PC boots only with the default BIOS and I'm mining only with Ubuntu. I've downloaded Windows 10, GPU-Z and Furmark only because of this faulty GPU and at 100% load because of Furmark the engine clocks @501 and mem @1400. The GPU ignores every command through MSI Afterburner and aticonfig in Ubuntu above 501 MHz. I'll return the 7970 as soon as possible. In the meantime I'm mining @400 MHz with 10 MHs Cool

Did you reflash the stock bios from vbios database?

With both default BIOS versions (small lever to the right and to the left) the PC is booting fine but after flashing with techpowerup.com BIOS version 015.039 (ASUS 7970) and 015.041 (ASUS 280X) the PC didn't boot any longer.

Go ASIC or go home!

I've already ordered 2 Zeus Ether ASICs by KnC and they promised to ship between Q2/Q3 2017 Grin

Try flashing the bios, maybe he messed with it.

I had the same idea but both BIOS versions are the default one's (015.012). I've tried BIOS version 015.039 (ASUS 7970) and 015.041 (ASUS 280X) but with both versions the PC doesn't boot.

check with gpu-z to see who is limiting the gpu

How? I'm using Windows/GPU-Z for the first time since many years. Which values are important?

For example if I start Furmark the core clock stays at 300 MHz and can't be changed with MSI Afterburner.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (ethminer) ASUS 7970 Directcu II Top only 501 MHz @95 C @Fan 100% on: March 19, 2016, 11:25:29 PM
I've bought it used on Ebay but the GPU looks pretty unused/new. The seller says the card worked fine but with Windows 10 I get about 1 MH/s at 300 MHz and with Ubuntu I get about 10 MH/s at 501/1400 MHz and 95 C or 9 MH/s at 400/1250 and 90 C. The GPU ignores completely every input from MSI Afterburner and with Ubuntu everything above 501 MHz. Changing the mem clocks with Ubuntu works fine.

If I start Furmark I get about 11 FPS and GPU-Z says the core clock stays at 300 MHz. Tomorrow I will install and try the CoD 4 demo.

You should get like 19-20MH/s with those.

If the temperatures spike as soon as you start mining then its either bad cooling or blown VRM. If you never took it apart before to change the thermal paste then most likely you have a blown VRM.

The GPU mines at 10 MH/s @500MHz (95 C) and @400MHz (85-90 C) and if I start mining the temps go up within seconds from 40 to 85/90 C. Any idea how to unblow the VRM Grin Damn!
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (ethminer) ASUS 7970 Directcu II Top only 501 MHz @95 C @Fan 100% on: March 17, 2016, 08:41:15 PM

Your GPU is clocking its own speed down trying to keep itself cool. Grab HWMonitor and confirm the temperatures of that and the rest of your computers and work out a cooling solution

I'm mining with Ubuntu and atitweak and aticonfig tell the same.

I've flashed the gpu bios from version 015.012.000.004.000000 (113-AD44400-101) to 015.039.000.000.000000 (113-AD47700-100) but now the gpu doesn't boot with this bios version. Maybe the 280X bios works.

Does someone have a working link to Stilt bios versions?
