1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: May 19, 2021, 10:51:37 PM
Guys I have a small issue regarding coinbase settlement, my settlement benefit check was issued October 6, 2020 about a month later it came to me and I went to my local bank to get my money. Sadly, my check came bank after Tri Sate Bank said they do no process checks on collections. Coinbase settlement asked me to send the check back to them in the US and I did. On the 17th of Feb I received an email from them saying they got it and please allow us 60 days for the wire transfer to be processed. Last I heard from them was on the 23rd of march and I got this answer:

Thank you for your email.

The wires for the reissued payments have not gone out yet.  I did find your claim and it is now reissue ready.  I just took over the handling of this case and am trying to get a handle on where everything stands.

I hope the wire will go out by the end of the month but I am not yet certain.  As soon as I am aware of what wires have been sent, if any, and those still needing to be issued I plan to get in touch with all Class Members as soon as possible.  I can tell you that the reissue has been processed, that alone is great.

Should I be worried?

Thank you for reading

Yes, I would be worried. The English in this message is terrible, and this is supposed to be a law firm?  I don't know who you are communication with, but I suspect its not who you think it is. I don't know why your bank would refuse to honor a check for any reason.... that would be a great place to start.

ummm... you are referring to the address that the email reply to address is set to?
This is not a program to spoof anything, that would be someone types in that address in the client.

The reply to or from address of any email cannot be trusted ever.

Go in to your mail client, and change the address to trump@whitehouse.gov. Nothing will stop you. People dont need to change their email address... that would not fix anything anyway.

Just stating the EXACT reply i had from Bitmain, the scammers are STILL getting BTC, BCH, LTC now !!

One person on a FB group i am a member of sent enough for 30 units !!!!

Madness..

was that a reply to a message, or a random offer to sell you a product? Like, was your text in that message and they replied to it? That would make it different.
If this was just a random message that you got offering to sell you something if you just send BTC to a random address, sane people dont fall for that. No matter what the reply address is.

They were compromised a while back and all the account email addresses were stolen. I still get 10 spam messages a week for ICO and new great deals on crypto.
I have gotten 14 of these domains suspended for spamming, so I dont know why they are still trying, but if you used an address with bitmain, expect it to be filled with scam attempts and ripoff ICO garbage

More then the money I lost I care about BIG VERN .. I hope his Wife has been stripped of all her assets and Vern is being regularly Sodomized by the guy they now call BIG VERN in the prison hes in.

Any chance on some good news on that ?

Or he's still hiding his ass somewhere in the rice fields of China ?

His ex made 250k in the scam, why would she be unhappy?
He got away with all the money he could scam, and his new whore shares in the wealth in a country that wont send him back to the us.

They all won. Case closed.
6  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Class action against bittrex, stop loss failed on: April 02, 2018, 06:07:44 PM
Hi everybody,

I'm very upset about all these scams on big exchanges with no justice.
I saw that lot of people lost their money on Bittrex because the stop loss / Sell limit did not work.
I've lost near 0,35 BTC after the ZCL fork because the stop loss / sell limit failed despite the fact that I set a wide spread, in order to counterbalance volatility.
After opening a ticket, they said that they can't do anything for me.
Bittrex are just hiding themselves behind the "market volatility" excuse, but the truth is that their platform software doesn't work, and they are responsible for that.
I want to gather people that were in the same case, with proofs (like screenshots) to raise a class action against Bittrex' scammers.
We live in free countries and have rights, we don't live in North Korea !
If we gather our forces we can succeed to have our rights respected.

The problem you will find is the arbitration clause. It means you agreed to not sue them in court and that you cannot take part in a class action against them.

If the courts view this agreement as a browsewrap agreement is up to a court, but seeing how they almost never do will not bode well.

All the power to you however... good luck
7  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: February 08, 2018, 02:47:01 PM

I'm thrilled for everyone who squeezed some justice out of craptsy.

Take advantage of the BTC dip!

but you didnt really did you?

I mean you got something, and thats good... but it didnt come from Vern or cryptsy, it came at the expense of the other users.
The money they are handing out was money stolen from the users, not out of Verns wallet. Even the money from the sale of the house car and ring came from his ex wife, and
I dont know if she knew or not, but she still walked away with a large chunk of the users money, so even she came out a winner.

The money trickling in now for the users of cryptsy is a small fraction of their own money... The bad guys still won this day, and there is no justice for anyone.

Just saying...

upload picture, proof
you can't just accuse them like that

Ummm...What?

First, lets look at who we are talking about. If you don't believe that Yobit might have a wallet in maintenance making withdrawals impossible, you have never used yobit.
They have a horrible history of putting wallets in maintenance and leaving them that way... forever... or at least it will feel like forever, and not replying to tickets about the issue.

Second, for proof, look at the spacecoin wallet on yobit, and it says: Wallet status: Maintenance

As for this being a scam, the jury is out. Just cause they wont fix the wallet doesnt mean they are stealing anything... I assume the OP can sell the coins (assuming there are buyers) and cash them out as something else.
When a community suddenly revives a coin, anyone should be looking over the new code with a fine tooth comb before just running it.. so for yobit who takes forever to do almost anything it will take 10 times as long.

So, proof is not required that this wallet is in maintenance mode as its very common thing there... but if you need it, go to yobit space wallet and select withdraw. you will see it yourself.
I dont believe its a scam per se, but you may never be able to withdraw them from yobit, forcing you to sell them and withdraw some other coin.

It happened to me too, with a different coin... im sure there are lots of people who will say the same thing happened to them too...

i myself have stuck aby coins for so long
it happened to all of us, this guy must stay with the protocol to prove his statement
anyone can open a topic and say whatever he wants

Ok, but what he is saying is 100% believable and true, at least as far as the wallet is concerned.
The wallet is in Maint mode... You can assume by the fact he mentioned it at all that he prolly does indeed have that type of coin stuck there.

If he posted a screenshot of the wallet status would that somehow prove what we already know to be true? Im all for a proper report, and again im not sure its a scam as far as the real sense of the word, but at the end of the day his real beef is the wallet is stuck and he cant withdraw.

Yesss finally received my settlement payment by post
About 65 dollars for each bitcoin taken by cryptsy  🤣

Well that's it i guess...

I have learned my lesson; never trust or use a centralized cryptocoin exchange ever again!

I also received my settlement payment today $769,91 for

6.19 btc
535 cloak
21185 cann
114 ppc
485 xpm
13069 xst
10690 wdc
and many more small coins for the long hold

The date was 4 nov 2015, btc was at that time $393  (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin)

How can they pay me only 769,91 pff 6.19 btc x $393 = $2432,67

I also don't understand, they indicated in their FAQ that for the settlement payment would use the price at 01 nov 2015. The price was at that day $250
You should have received at least 6x $250 = $1500.
Not sure how it works with the taxes?

No you would expect a percent back based on the price as of 11/2015.

The only ones who made out at all was the lawyers...
they are the only ones that ever make out in these things.

well, since I dont have an account on law.com i cant see the article... but if this is about Vern, its worthless.

1) The court cannot force vern to do anything, as he has fled the jurisdiction of the court, and to a country that wont extradite him.
2) The court cannot order something to magically happen. The coins are locked in a wallet, and there is no way to get them out without the keys.

So while the judge says ok they must be returned, there is absolutely no way to enforce the order... therefore, it was a waste of paper to print the order.

That was fun... thanks for playing

Maybe if we ask nicely?

Vern, if you'd be so kind as to return my 1.5BTC to 19UystiZqP5JK8x7r99y7t1AvXwtkuQGQd I'd be very grateful.

cheers, Harrierx.

I'll keep you posted  Smiley

Meh, Vern has always been a stand up guy... im sure you will have it inside the hour...

If you dont see it within the next few hours, just wait longer. :-)

13  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paypal Scam - Law suit against paypal - Paypal Mafia - Ebay trading on: February 01, 2018, 05:27:31 PM
https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/About-Settings/Selling-Bitcoin-is-Against-PayPal-Policy/td-p/1215793

^so apparently performing any sort of currency exchange is actually against the paypal's terms and conditions and using bitcoin is no exception. Paypal has never been bitcoin friendly in the past, anyways. This plus the fact that they seem to limit every account that touches the slightest of their terms and conditions, makes them one of the worst choices for crypto exchanges.

You could try filing a lawsuit, but it'll be costly and probably way more than $1k since you're battling a big company. Plus there has been plenty of cases in the past involving locked funds and suspended accounts, and paypal is still up and running. Doubt you'll do any damage tbh. Plus, they'll just claim that you violated their T&Cs. What would you say in that case?

I'm not saying that you're in the wrong, i hate paypal just as much as the next guy, but hey, you just gotta accept some things.

and seeing how Paypal has an arbitration clause, you cant file a class action lawsuit against them.

When you signed up for the account, you had to agree to that clause. Your only recourse against them is to go to arbitration... and there you will loose because currency exchange is against the rules on paypal, again that you agreed to follow.

I really am sorry they screwed you, but there is almost nothing you can do about it.

First Quarter 2018 will be the disbursements, as per the documents for those that could claim.

In Canada, Loblaws is giving everyone who files, $25 re a bread fixing scandal.

Bets on what we get?
can we still file??

No, you missed that boat by like a year.
15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FBI, Bittrex Class Action Law Suit. Join to take down these scammers on: January 07, 2018, 09:18:19 PM
The FBI will not go after this company for locking people out of accounts. There has been -0- evidence that the funds have been removed from customer wallets, just that customers have not been allowed to access them in some cases. If you are not from the US, you are going to have a REALLY hard time getting those funds back without hiring an attorney from the US, getting them to sue for it, then sharing with that lawyer. Its the same thing that happens when a US citizen looses money on a non US exchange. They have no recourse either. If the FEDS also ordered Bittrex to stop doing business with certain countries, there is absolutely nothing you can do even with a lawyer.

Long story short, If you are from a country that the US has blocked business dealing with, you are out of luck till that policy changes.

Im not saying its right or good, but this is not going to get resolved by petition.
16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I got scammed on LocalBitcoins on: December 27, 2017, 02:07:54 PM
Hi, some days ago I sold 1400 USD in Bitcoins, the payment method was PayPal.
I got the money but today I saw some emails on my inbox from Paypal saying that my money is missing.
The person that gave me the money maked a ChargeBack.
I called personally to PayPal and they said that the seller accused me for thiefing so they refunded the money to him.

Now I need help, because I can't do nothing in my PayPal account but I think I can get my BTCs back if I report this to LocalBitcoins. How can I do that? Opening a ticket?

Thanks.

Paypal and bitcoin dont mix well.

There is more than likely nothing you can do, and your money is lost.

However that being said, try to track the persons pay pal account and see if they were the one you worked with...

Did you communicate with them via the same email address as the pay pal account?

If so, contact police and file a complaint for grand larceny and see what you have to do to follow it up
17  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: December 27, 2017, 05:01:52 AM
Why doesn't Paul make a deal with the American law, if it was him I would go to the court asking how many got accepted to the settlement "it is probably way lower than 11300 BTC" go to jail for a year after giving like 9000 BTC's back and after one year he goes out with 2300 BTC's and he can actually walk free around he's own country meeting he's own family? That's of course if it was him + he has the wallet.

Why on earth would he do that?

Right now, he gets to live out his life in another country without spending a year in jail, and if he still has the keys to the stolen bitcoins he could spend them all, any time he wants.

Is there any way, by using our log in information, to get our Cryptsy trade history?
Thx in advance.

No, Paul wiped the servers on the way out the door, so there is nothing to get.
Your username / password trade history, balances, everything gone.

not sure spamming users with your new idea is the best way to go. I know I would NEVER use anything that is the product of spam, and will therefore not even look at it.

I know others feel the same
