1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Upneko - Create an Altcoin without any code needed on: December 17, 2021, 01:25:28 PM
Upneko, Are you new to the forum?

Or have just joined the Bitcointalk forum from an Ethereum background?

Congratulations on launching your service. I have not looked at it because here at the forum, people prefer going through such stuff if they can verify some sort of trust circle. If you are a dev, it would be useful if you share a Github.

It is always a good idea to build trust when you share your work. It will help you to get better feedback.

I have an Ethereum background, but I also wanted to learn more about Bitcoin.

Yes, I'm a dev! Unfortunately I can't share all my service code because it would be very easy to steal and deploy somewhere else, but I can provide the contract source code on-demand before you deploy, so you can check that the bytecode on the deploy transaction is the same and I'm not scamming you.

It won't be possible to create those d-apps, such as tokenization, on Bitcoin, because it's not turing-complete. It uses Script which is a stack-based turing-incomplete language, served for only locking and unlocking outputs. Take a look on learnmeabitcoin.com/technical/script.

It shouldn't be imagined that it now competes Ethereum or any other.

Ohhh I see, thank you. I didn't know that it wasn't Turing-complete. So I don't get why are they trying to add Smart Contracts, what are they trying to achieve?
Like you said it's impossible to build d-apps, Script doesn't even have loops, so how could they be used?

The Taproot upgrade consists of three separate upgrade proposals. However, at its core, the upgrade introduces a new digital signature scheme called "Schnorr" that will help bitcoin transactions become more efficient and more private. Schnorr can also be leveraged to let bitcoin users execute more complex smart contracts.

What do you think about the latest update? For me, Smart Contracts are extremely important in the long run: it will be possible to create d-apps on Bitcoin blockchain for which it will be necessary to use Bitcoins to interact, leading more people to buy Bitcoins.

If you want to make an altcoin without writing any code Upneko could be useful to you (https://upneko.com)
You can choose a name, symbol, supply type/quantity, and additional features like minting/burning.

It uses Ethereum blockchain and there is a free tier on Mainnet, but if you want to try all features you can try it on test networks like Ropsten completely for free.
You just need a MetaMask wallet to interact with the application.

Full disclaimer: I'm the founder of Upneko

I'm the founder of Upneko, a service that gives the opportunity to users to build their own cryptocurrency on the Ethereum blockchain without the need to write any code.
Available here: https://upneko.com

It's a web3 application that generates and deploys crypto Tokens/Altcoins that are compliant with the ERC20 standard: you are able to add and choose additional features to create a custom Token.
There is a free tier (minus gas fees) that you can try on Mainnet. You can also try it using all possible features on test networks like Ropsten completely for free.

I'm an engineer and I noticed that it's very hard for non-tech people to make a token, that's why I decided to build this application.
I would love to see if anyone could be interested in this type of service.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum on: December 10, 2021, 08:42:43 PM
bitcoin is fully decentralized unlike ethereum

Why? At the moment Bitcoin has 15.000 nodes deployed around the globe (source: https://bitnodes.io/) while Ethereum has 6.000 nodes (source: https://www.ethernodes.org/) so this makes them both fully decentralized.

I was wondering, why (or why not) do you think that Bitcoin is better than Ethereum?

Ethereum seems to provide everything that Bitcoin offers but it has a huge advantage: smart contracts.
Smart contracts are small "programs" that live on the blockchain, so you can use them to build actual services and applications, while Bitcoin is useful only as a digital currency.

So why do you prefer Bitcoin if Ethereum seems superior?
Or maybe I'm missing something that makes Bitcoin actually better than Ethereum in some way?
