4  Bitcoin / Mining support / Avalon Miner part help on: June 18, 2014, 04:57:17 AM
Hello,

I am new to the forum and mining bitcoin (have 2 S1's and the hulky beast avalon thee 200 gh one). My question though is this my Avalon miner was working perfectly with it overclocked at 1400 freq hashing at +- 10% 220 gh/s. it recently dropped to a stagnant 160-70 gh/s. so being pretty decent a figuring things out I investigated the situation. First I moved it to a new location to see if the wifi was being disrupted. But, I got the same result after leaving it there for a few hours. then I stopped it and looked to see if maybe some wiring got loose but, that was also not the case. After looking around at the wires for a bit I did find that one of the capacitors had come off and was laying in the encasement. So I knew this was part of the problem. Upon looking at the board it turns out that I am missing maybe 3 or 4 more capacitors. Back to my question though, I know how to solder so I  was wondering if some of you kind folk could direct me to a place I can buy some spare capacitors so I can solder them back on the board.

the ones I am looking for are the ones in the bottom left of this link. The C1's. can't buy them directly from them and can't find them anywhere

Thx

not sure if this will help for feature dealings. But, I use Multipool, Cryptsy, and  Cex.io. On MP and Cex I use the two step verification with my phone. so on MP I have it so I can click a button and it just uploads all my wallets into the site. With that you have a pin you need every time in order to change any information. could try that. At least it gives you some more layers of security but, with anything else it's not 100% safe but I would say it is at least 95% safe.

I myself use a Dell PSU @ 750w and it easily can handle 2 overclocked antminers.

you can buy them for 60 bucks @ http://minersource.net/products/dell-750w-psu-slash-adapter   (sorry if links not aloud for new users. it's not a referral link).

hope this helps
