61  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price after 1 August - Down 50% on: June 30, 2017, 02:34:31 AM
If that happens, I do not think it will stay in any way for long,ie  such low price, there might be some volatility maybe a week before and one after, but if there is no setback that is most likely to happen, then there would be much more confidence in the market.
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will be back in $1,000 ? on: June 26, 2017, 11:27:04 PM
That is Bitcoin's volatility for you. The ups and downs on Bitcoin's price is very normal in this type of environment. Considering the bear market we are in, it is not so surprising that we will see some drops from time to time, increase will be there as well. Reaching $1000 per Bitcoin, however, is difficult since Bitcoin has already established a good foundation and with its current demand, going underneath $2000 has a little probability.
Definitely, that is a reason why stores or peoples who accept it as a means of payment they have to be careful not to suffer great losses for selling  goods, They must first know this type of market behavior to avoid surprises like this.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: June 26, 2017, 11:16:19 PM
Aslong as investing in ETH is profitable, there is no problem why not. People are eyeing altcoin/s not just ETH where they can gain and profit for their investment. Many users, means profit and good investment.
to me although i will always prefer to bitcoin, but if i have some more money to invest except bitcoin then i will like to purchase Etherium, because its look like that people are also interested in Etherium to purchase and hold it for long time, when its price will cross the present value of bitcoin. and its every possible in future.
Hardly the value of BTC can be surpassed even when talking about ETH, there is much talk about the limitations that BTC currently has but just wait a little time and you will see how the same or other limitations appear in ETH, It's only a matter of time.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: August 1 needs to be today... on: June 26, 2017, 11:00:37 PM
It's not good, it seems some people are switching to Litecoin for retail payments,

People will start pricing in LTCs drop when bitcoin gets segwit. LTC is just a test coin for what we can put on bitcoin, it works well for this.  Also great for moving money quick from exchanges.
Also LTC is great as a backup plan, if something were to happen to bitcoin we have litecoin as a backup for that day so someone wanting to destroy bitcoin not only has to destroy bitcoin but litecoin as well and it needs to do it very fast or the devs could take action to protect LTC from whatever destroys bitcoin.
Well, I do not think it's quite the way you put it, we are going to assume a hypothetical case that the  BTC price drops too then LTC will fall the same way because both are connected, besides it is not the same to make changes in a network that has hundreds of thousands of transactions daily that one that has only thousands.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: June 26, 2017, 10:43:54 PM
The only thing I can think that some people will say is transaction times. It's not so fast they think but a bank transfer takes longer. People want to swipe to pay. Can Bitcoin be used like a debit card for doing that is the question ? Also you can say right now you can't soent it everywhere. That is clear to us all for now. In the future more places will accept bitcoins.
Well I would not say it's the only one, another for example is that it is not currently suitable for microtransactions  for example in some services you have to reach a minimum amount to be able to withdraw funds and that could sound like an important limitation also, but I do believe that there are still several.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC is the only coin to survive on: June 26, 2017, 10:18:38 PM
It seems it was just a matter of time, because it plundged today of about 18%. Anyway, I am feeling like this is just some big panic that made all the altcoins fall.
Maybe, or it's just somebody manipulating the market, or it could be both, well the fact is that I do not believe what subject says i.e I do not think ETC can be the only one to survive.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin getting huge in South Korea on: June 18, 2017, 09:25:47 PM
...

HOW do we learn more about BTC in Korea?  I have not found a decent link that gives Korea & BTC info.

I offered to pay $130 to one of our Korean bearing suppliers for samples & catalogs by BTC (yes they charged me for samples).  NO, only a wire transfer.  $40 for that $130 when I was down there in Peru.  So not even the ONE  commercial guy who I have mentioned BTC to was interested.

Seems to me also that we haven't heard any news from South Korea but from the last time I checked trading volumes, South Koreans has huge volumes. I'm also not aware that bitcoin has been legal or been embrace by the government. So find it interesting again why South Koreans are pouring money into the market.

Well it's like Korea is inclined with technology. Samsung, Hyundai, KIA and some of technology's top brands came from Korea. Right now they're producing the top volumes on many coins especially ETH and ETC.

That could explain what has been happening and the high interest that BTC has generated in those places, and if they are taking interest directly is because they see something interesting on it, in such a way  that they are buying above the market price, also  somebody mentioned the India that the price was also above.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes the bitcoin price stronger in the market? on: June 18, 2017, 08:59:23 PM
I think the bitcoin rise has many factors ... one of which is due to rise in the dollar in the present ... and the unstable global market that makes bitcoin growth ... ... thanks

Not necessarily. The dollar price does not really affect the BTC price. Charts are completely different. The popularity of BTC has a big impact on the price.

That's because the dollar is very stable too, and what does BTC strong in the market  are a combination of things for example the demand it has in the last days as well as the security it has, and the number of pairs in the markets it has, just to mention some.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Bitcoin Classic on: June 18, 2017, 07:38:11 PM
Most people think that they will have a real choice in the matter. You will obviously support the coin that are widely supported by merchants and also the

exchanges you normally use. The BitMainCoin will not get a lot of support, but it will have a lot of hashing power backing it. I will go with the flow and

use the coin that are supported by the majority of the services. No use supporting a coin that are not accepted for payment everywhere.  Roll Eyes

The BitMainCoin will not get a lot of support, but it will have a lot of hashing power backing it.

how much hashing power does Bitmain have?
i can't find "Bitmain" on the pools: https://blockchain.info/pools
but google tells me they control AntPool with ~17% hashrate, am i correct? or is there more?

The BitMainCoin is the thing that least worries for that date, finally is another centralized altcoin and an attempt by the company to sell more mining equipment only and probably to get instamine it.

70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain announces plan to create altcoin if BIP148 succeeds on: June 18, 2017, 07:07:56 PM
Good information in this thread, what that company is trying to do is to create a new altcoin to sell a lot of mining equipment for another six or seven years, it's not hard to imagine, but people will not accept that because is an completely centralized thing.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy LTC now to avoid missing out on: June 18, 2017, 06:42:47 PM
Litecoin has been around for a long time but I don't remember it being more than $40 even back in 2013. Its kinda interesting that it didn't pump more during the bitcoin rally this year while ETH skyrockets without ever having a real correction. I think it has a good use case in terms of usability like micro payments while bitcoin is more a store of value like a digital gold. $400 or even $100 dollars is overly optimistic but who knows...it does have Segwit.
IMHO, the managers of that currency waited too long to make some changes, it looks like things are going to change from now, in that case, it can go back to second place but for how long?
72  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: June 18, 2017, 06:21:35 PM
I don't think that paper money is facing any competetion for Bitcoin because Bitcoin transactions charge very high fees which make Bitcoin useless for small transactions. We might shift our dependence on Bitcoin but total replacement is not possible.
Even if the transaction charges are low bitcoin wont face any challenge to the fiat currency simply because they are controlled by a government and there might be a time when they change everything to digital payment in the future, but it will take a long time.
And hopefully not, about  change everything to digital payment in the future, it would be very risky, a failure in the system whole and would paralyze everything, besides that would be completely unfair for many reasons, in that sense, the paper money also must always co-exist.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: June 18, 2017, 06:04:32 PM
I don't think that cashless has that of a positive connotation today. It stands for POS transactions, something that's controlled by banking institutions and easily tracked and regulated by governments. I wouldn't want a cashless society to function this way. There'd still be demand for an alternative to cash for untraceable transactions.
Agree, and as almost all the economy is based on that: cash, there's no point in raising that about cashless,
so cash could exist by legacy, it is useful, maybe from your comment I would only differ a little bit about untraceable transactions, I mean nobody needs to do an untraceable transactions for example to buy food or drink and even so would have demand too.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin improve the economy of a country? on: June 18, 2017, 05:46:46 PM
This is so irrelevant. Why shall bitcoin improve the economic conditions of a region?

I don't see your point in asking this. Bitcoin is only a financial tool.
Of course bitcoin can improve the economy condition because it give people chance to get second resource.  It also can move the wealth inside the country
Of course bitcoin can provide a change in one's economy. Because it can be a profitable job for you. If the user is a successful gain of course it will change their economy?

Yes right and I am agree with you that bitcoin can change or improve the economy of a country in that way that bitcoin can give a profitable job opportunity in which you can earn easily , you can earn money from bitcoin in this way that invest some money in bitcoin and trading or joining signature campaign these ways are very easy, for joining signature campaign just you can make account and joining campaign and start earning these all ways have provide job opportunity and will make improve the economy of a country.

It is still too early to measure the effects on the economy of a country and it is difficult to answer, but who improves the economy of a country are their governments and their people only, BTC certainly brings opportunities for some peoples to generate income based on their efforts and that is something that must be considered.
75  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is a roller coaster on: June 18, 2017, 05:25:22 PM
Bitcoin is a volatile asset and it always has been. It will frequently go up and down. This is how bitcoin works. There is nothing to be tensed about. In long run bitcoin has always been profitable. If you have invested in bicoin. Just relax and wait till the end of the year. You will make a decent profit. You shouldn't care about these frequent and short termed pump and dump.

As price wise bitcoin is volatile always but in potential wise bitcoin is better than any digital currency. Check the price in 2013 it will say that long term holding in bitcoin will work on it. As segwit and BU activated bitcoin price is bumped to peak value and now again fluctuating in the chart.
That seems very wise, with that activation BTC will  double its capabilities, and increase the confidence of the people involved and will surely remove a lot of selling pressure on the market.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we ever see bitcoin lower than 1000$? on: June 18, 2017, 05:16:40 PM
I don't think that we will ever see but pin lower than 1000$ because the rate with which Bitcoin is growing is very high and a fall in price from 2600$ to 1000$ is not realistic.
Even that was price crashed few days ago price is recovering till know and may surpass the peak later and going to $3000. Bitcoin to $1000 is highly impossible to reach unless some big news happened.

Ya it is true that seeing the latest trend we think that $1000 is not possible but one thing everyone should know that nothing is impossible.
Right, I could not have said it better, however does not appear to be the case, I mean,  fall down  more than 1000 because many people  can be waiting for such an opportunity.
77  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is so volatile right now! Why should I even hold? on: June 18, 2017, 05:07:56 PM
Long term is the best way to earn in bitcoin so don't sell with small pumps only because expects that after few months or years the price of it will pump again there will be few dumps but expect after that there will be a pump so I think holding it for a long time is the best way to multiply your money.
That seems to make sense more than ever and more because it's not just about of which occupies the position number one in the list but that main competitor has not been able to get close enough, that's something that draws attention.
78  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: June 18, 2017, 04:59:56 PM
This is very hard for all government to use one currency for the whole countries, technically it is impossible so that I think there is no need to make any comment about this from my point of view, there is big difference among their economy some countries are poorest.
I think your words are true, this is not possible can happen because of the many differences between the advantages and disadvantages of the currency of the country respectively. We cannot conclude on the use of a single currency. If this is the case then the whole country will be chaotic just because one economy that is the issue of currency. discussion of this topic will make it difficult for all Governments since small differences in currency values in every State.
Not only for governments but also for the same technique behind each currency, all his abilities would soon be exceeded, None system would support such a huge transaction load at that scale so that question can not be answered because it is not feasible to perform.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible to mine any coin right now with laptop/computer ? on: June 18, 2017, 04:47:38 PM
Hmmm okay thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Here no one talked about monero,i heard monero is possible to mine with cpu with some profit as well.
Fine but could you recommend good system configuration for mining Monero. I mean desktop or laptop. Assume that i have good internet and electricity for Free Then can i able to make profit by just investing for good configuration computer or laptop Huh
Nope, It would be a waste of time use your laptop to do this, instead of that better read, learn, participate giving opinions or things like that, it's the best thing you can do with with your laptop.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - the scam is being pumped hard now don't fall for the trap on: June 18, 2017, 04:36:16 PM
I have never heard about this coin before and suddenly it appears on the top 10 coin which makes me very very currious. I attend to learn more about this coin before making some statement here. Well, if it is a scam coin, there is no way for it to appear on the top 10 with a big volume and high price like that.
Is because it has been in development supposedly for a long time as I understand, was the first to introduce the idea of  Tangle as  a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) that try solves some problems of the blockchain and call it “Obsolete” cryptography, that's why it has caused a lot of turmoil, everyone should investigate a little more before taking a decision.
