ps ....Ledger X tomorrow ?  Huh Shocked

That's a very good point I'd forgotten about this. I thought it was Oct 5th? I've heard nothing about this since August/ early Sept.

What's going on with it?

It's 9.30am here and when I woke up this morning at 6am I was a little disappointed we hadn't hit another ATH overnight.

We will never be at 32k this month at this rate.

Yeah but slow and steady wins the race, I would rather we consolidate for a little bit after each jump than get too bubbly too fast...this could be the longest bull run of all time  Cool Cool

we have a decent two year bull run so far, from October 2015 - from $250-ish.   Is it really possible to get 1 or more additional years out of this particular bull run.. .Perhaps?  That would be a long bull run, if it were to happen... I have my doubts... I do agree that we are not done with the current bullrun, and another 6 months is reasonable.. I cannot really see going beyond 6 months more, unless perhaps there are several significant corrections along the way without blowing off too much steam, and then perhaps we would be going to the $30k to $50k territory in the next 12 to 18 months... that would be a lot, though... so I find it to be quite the stretch and maybe less than 15% chance of such.  But what do I know, except making up numbers?   Cry

That last line made me laugh.

224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Cash's price during a Segwit2X fork on: October 09, 2017, 11:32:17 AM
Well I'm not sure what you mean by BCH as a safe haven as I have seen no evidence of that over the past few months.

Anyway, btc price will pump between now and 25th Oct due to people wanting their free 2x coin. I believe most to sell their 2x coin after November 1st once 2x trading becomes available.

I'd leave Alts alone. Get btc, get free 2x, sell 2x for btc and then do what you want. Worked well for me during BCH fork.

Also, most people aren't worried about the fork as we've seen it before and look at the price after the BCH fork. Look at the charts.

Well BCH won't experience a fork so there will be no giant uncertainties about it compared to Bitcoin. It's price, whether small or big, might be stable during Bitcoin.

You are talking about Bitcoin Gold fork on 25th Oct, not 2x. 2x fork is happening around 20th November.

It is true that people will be more confident, since they seen a hardfork before, but also this one might not have replay protection and majority of mining power and big companies has signed an S2X agreement, compared to BCH fork that got a minority of hashpower, companies and devs on their side. This one perhaps is devs and users vs mining pools and companies.

Yes my mistake bgold 25th (don't expect much here) and 2x November. I'd stick with btc and forget all the forks. Just claim your coins and trade for btc.

Always control your private keys obviously! I am not a trader, I just hodl btc. It's worked out well in the long run.

BCH may pump later (much later) but I wouldn't want to hold that coin personally.
225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Cash's price during a Segwit2X fork on: October 09, 2017, 10:57:04 AM
What do you speculate will happen during a Segwit2X fork?

Will people go to BCH as a safe haven until they see will the fork happen and which blockchain will win.
There is a lot of uncertainty about the fork, like will the signatories keep their promise and if they will implement a last minute replay protection like they did in BCH?

On the other hand I heard that altcoin prices dropped during a BCH hardfork, so will it be similar? Will the market treat BCH as an altcoin, or will it treat it like a safe haven as an Bitcoin alternative, since it is the forth crypto by market cap right now (even tho I wouldn't count ripple as a crypto).

Well I'm not sure what you mean by BCH as a safe haven as I have seen no evidence of that over the past few months.

Are you ready for $5000 by the end of this week?

I've been ready for over 4 years

Hey you guys, lay off jbreher.  I disagree with him, but he is polite and well reasoned...if wrong.

This thread does not have to be a total echo chamber.

Besides, he's probably kinda sad right now.
[...] He has bad ideas [...]

One should welcome opposing views. One of the very few reasons I don't have certain loud mouthed posters on ignore.

Don't get me wrong.  I am not objecting to opposing views, but I am asserting my position that there seems to be no real good reason to be respecting the contributions of folks who seem to be engaging in strategies to denigrate and attack bitcoin - and these folks could be  a threat to bitcoin if they were to be successful with their nonsense.  Accordingly, it is my right to express loud opposition to them, even while they might appear to be down and out, and sure they can come back and assert that they have good motives and related whatever (actions speak louder than words)..

Accordingly, I have no problem strenuously expressing opposition to some of the big blocker nut jobs who seem to be supporting the baloney propaganda and disruptive behaviors of folks such as Ver, Ji Han, Craig Wright, Jeff Garzik, and some of the other folks who are engaged in both destructive rhetoric and destructive actions, too.. and come into the thread spreading nonsense and FUD.

JJG I don't take any notice of your posts unless there is a % theory involved.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 06, 2017, 10:49:29 AM
on bitfinex BTC/BT2 is currently trading for 0.4. I wish I could already sell my 2xshitcoin to get my +40% btc

0.4?? WTF?
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 06, 2017, 08:45:24 AM
Is it good time to sell or to buy bitcoin?

No one knows and if they say they do it's bullshit. I'd suggest doing your own research and making your own mind up. Me personally I'm here for the long term so price movements now are meaningless
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price BTC after SegWit2x? on: October 05, 2017, 08:42:35 AM
i think segwit2x will be just the same as BCC fork, when the fork complete, the price will moving up slowly and then recover, and we will get a decent airdrop bitcoin gold. not a bad thing,i hope .

We're talking about two different things here. The BitGold airdrop is slated to happen in late October. That should be a non-event..... I'd be very surprised if that fork were offered on major Bitcoin exchanges. Maybe Poloniex, Bittrex, Cryptopia and other altcoin exchanges, though.

The Segwit2x fork is different, because it's backed by major services, exchanges and miners. I'm not sure what's going to happen. A split seems likely if the BTC1/NYA crowd moves forward with the fork, which would be bad for the price.

What is BitGold ?
Is BitGold = Bitcoin gold ?

How can get BitGold? it's like BCC?

no BitGold is another altcoin which has nothing to do with any of this! https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitgold/#markets

bitcoin gold is a new fork planning to make bitcoin GPU mine-able. http://btcgpu.org/
that is why it is also called BTCGPU. so far the website has nothing on it except the date and the links at the bottom. but the information that was gathered it has a huge premine.

good.

If I have Bitcoin cash (BCC) can I get BTCGPU after segwit2x ?
or need hold BTC only?

I'm pretty sure it's the main chain so btc only
231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 04, 2017, 02:51:03 PM
next stop $3400 ?

I believe this is impossible. We have to pass 4100,4000,3900,3800,3700,3600,3500 for this to happen. It's not witch craft
232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 04, 2017, 02:36:42 PM
What happend  Shocked

Any bad news again?  Roll Eyes

€3598 kraken price

Same shit, different day. It'll all be back within 2 weeks.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 04, 2017, 06:10:22 AM
All I know is it will mean more free btc for me.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 02, 2017, 05:40:27 AM
So the hard fork for bitcoin gold "BTG" will happen on 25th of October and the split will be available on Nov.1st.
Looks like BTC will be the only coin credited.  But really, are the devs that locked in oppositions that every new feature or change needs a hard fork?
I think BTC is on its way up past 5k real soon in anticipation of another air drop.

I guess BTG will be peanuts out the gate. But if SX2 happens, that's corporate money. I'll be primed and ready for that split.

I've just come on here to type the same message! Beat me to it.

Not expecting a lot from bitcoin gold. The website I saw was so shit it was almost childlike. Copy and paste rubbish.
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 30, 2017, 04:23:30 PM
Is this rise purely down to hodling btc before OCT 1st due to the bitcoin gold fork?
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 30, 2017, 04:21:16 PM
Strange things goes through your mind when you drive the dark open highways in your truck/lorry in the middle of the night.

Often when I am out and about I wonder to myself who else have i met or passed today is also a hodler like myself. I have yet to meet anyone who also has bitcoin.
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 30, 2017, 06:17:50 AM
I'm bullish but in the back of my mind I have the same thoughts as BMB. Also the same thoughts on whether I'm a forever hodler and will die hodling.

Surely some? I can not imagine a situation where I have 0 BTC

Exactly this.

Now we are in a thread where we can be a little off topic I thought I would mention I have come home from work

if you're still working you've been failing as a legendary imo. and that vomit thing is not gentleman even. You should have a platoon of wet nannies serving yourself and the kids now.
Because being breastfed is better than a cigar.

I registered here four hours before rj. He's such a noob.

Ha ha, I am still a noob even now. I will fully admit this.

I have no argument with your statement.

I am not sure if the above is a good proclamation....

Sure it is good to attempt to lower your cost per BTC, but it seems like a mind block, and even a form of inactivity to NOT continue to acquire BTC (on dips, for example).. especially if you have an ongoing cashflow, a certain percentage of your cashflow could go to bitcoin, no?

Even 1% might be sufficient, no?

The amount could even be less than 1%, and still be good... depending on tailoring the amount to your own situation.

I am aware this is a good idea but all my "spare cash" has gone on a building project we have nearly completed. I have had no spare fiat. I had a goal regarding the minimum amount of btc I'd like to hodl from the start and this has been increased by bcash coming along so I am pretty content with what I have. Always nice to have more but as I said, I've had other projects in the go and I have to inject money there.
