521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: January 31, 2018, 08:42:55 PM
Is there anywhere $BAY can be acquired that doesnt have a terrible reputation?

bittrex. dont knwo what you see wrong there. tt works

Bittrex is a good exchange, but it is closed for new registrations. You have to be a corporate or have a special invite before you can register. That puts Bitbay out of the reach of most newbies in the crypto world.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 31, 2018, 08:33:00 PM
A superb performance from Bangladeshi batsman. They played extra-ordinary today.Mominul scored 175 and still on the crease.Unfortunately, rahim got out after scoring 92.Day 1 stumps,Bangladesh got 374 on the scoreboard with 6 wickets in hand.A really memorable day for Bangladesh, tomorrow they will start again.SL needs some quick wickets to be back on the match.

Day 1 belong sot Bangladesh and after winning the toss they took the good decision of batting . Rahim would feel disappointed that he missed his century by 8 runs. Tomorrow it would be interesting to watch if Haque can reach double ton as he is just short of 25 runs. They would like to to make 500+ in first innings and put SL under pressure.

Bangladesh is in an extremely strong position at 374/4 at the end of day 1. I do not think they will look at specific targets like 500, but would look to bat out day 2. If they manage to do that, Sri Lanka would be under pressure right from the start of the innings and would find it tough to avoid the follow on. They may have won the ODI tri-series but have looked far from convincing in Bangladesh
523  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-31]Sberbank to Bypass Russian Regulations and Trade Cryptocurrencies... on: January 31, 2018, 07:29:36 AM
They might decide to allow trading outside Russia, where domestic rules and regulations do not apply, but that cannot change the fact that they are based out of Russia. The government has ways of ensuring that companies fall in line, even in conduct outside the country. With Russia, you can be very sure that they will employ all the tools available at their disposal to ensure companies toe the official line.
524  Economy / Services / Re: What is the future of Facebook campaigns? on: January 31, 2018, 06:22:48 AM
The current scenario cryptocurrency and Bitcoin should not promote in Facebook.Yesterday I saw the news in official website in Facebook. So what is future possibilities in Facebook campaign! Will it work or not!

Guys please share your views.

Since paid ads on cryptocurrencies have been shown the way out by Facebook campaigns, I think that advertisers might focus more on facebook campaigns. This is the only way that they can target Facebook users now. So it should be a big positive for users who are in Facebook campaigns.
525  Economy / Economics / Re: If you achieve your target in crypto field then what you are going to do next? on: January 30, 2018, 07:00:33 AM
in my opinion is it will convert to half of money and another half again reinvest. what is your opinion and let rock together with my topic.?

I would do something similar. I would convert half of it to fiat, I would invest it in a house and some stable sources of income. The remaining half would continue to remain in crypto and if it rises further I would take advantage of any upside.
Then I think I will be able to retire and relax.  Smiley
526  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018/01/30] Lawyers Moving Into the Bitcoin Space on: January 30, 2018, 06:37:40 AM
Many law firms are accepting Bitcoin as payment because customers request it. Others are accepting Bitcoin because they fear missing out on the opportunities that the new business environment promises.

https://bitcoinist.com/lawyers-moving-into-the-bitcoin-space/

Lawyers accepting Bitcoin is nothing new. It is money and when lawyers can easily convert it to fiat, customers want to use it, it is natural that lawyers will accept it.
Lawyers will find a lot more cases related to cryptocurrencies coming their way. It is not just about big companies experiencing hacks - there could be cases involving taxation, contracts using cryptocurrencies, etc. I am sure that will increase going forward.
527  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-29] Bitcoin Won’t Do a Lehman Collapse: Singapore Central Bank FinTech on: January 29, 2018, 09:14:07 PM
The view that cryptocurrencies are too small to matter seems to be opposite to the ones taken by organizations like the ECB.  Easy money has resulted in inflated prices across all asset classes, not just cryptocurrencies.
If a crash does occur (and this will be worse than Lehman), some people might be tempted to pin the blame on cryptocurrencies. They would be ignoring the root causes of the problem.
528  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-26] More Crackdown?China Warn Against Risks of Offshore ICOs And Virtua on: January 29, 2018, 06:43:32 AM
While China has shut down Bitcoin exchanges, trading of bitcoin through P2P platforms is still legal. When people have access to buy bitcoins, there is little the government can do to stop them from investing in overseas exchanges or ICOs. The virtual world knows no boundaries.
If the Chinese government is really worried, you can expect a direct crackdown on all aspects of Bitcoin (P2P exchanges, mining, etc) in the near future.
529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think that Bitcoin's price will still drop nearly below $9000? on: January 29, 2018, 05:20:46 AM
Many of those people who predict the price of bitcoin will come down again like he raced to show the technical predictions he made.

if it is true can you give an accurate reason not just speculation and not just a fake streak of technical predictions?

and why the decline in Bitcoin prices is quite prolonged?

Apart from technical analysis, there are no parameters you can use to value Bitcoin. At least in equity valuations, you have earnings, cash flows, price multiples. etc. People trying to use similar parameters to value Bitcoin end up with ridiculous numbers.
That said, I think it is probable that Bitcoin will go below $9,000. That is more to do with Bitcoin's volatility and where it is trading now, rather than any deep technical analysis.
530  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-28] CryptoMining Malware Epidemic: 55% of Businesses Affected Worldwide on: January 29, 2018, 05:09:05 AM
Firefox often gives a warning if a particular script on a webpage is slowing down your system. I think it will be a good red flag to use to find out if a webpage is infected. Of course if you are comfortable browsing with no-script, then nothing like it. Most news websites these days implement some kind of check to find out if any plugin like ad-block is being used.

The 55% (businesses infected by malware) quoted in the article seems to be an extremely high number to me. The number of businesses infected would be significantly lower than individuals infected, given that businesses are much more worried about security and have dedicated IT and security teams. They restrict the users of their systems from installing software
531  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL or SODL? on: January 28, 2018, 10:10:08 PM
What is your trading strategy right now?

If you have purchased your coins sufficiently early, you can think of a slow liquidation starting now. Sell little by little every month. It doesn't matter that the price now is significantly down from its peak levels, if you sell only little amounts every month.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 28, 2018, 09:44:17 PM
5th ODI between Australia and England, having won the toss Australia elected to bowl first and they are right on their money Picked up 8 wickets for 248 runs still 4 overs left. England already won the series so it's not of importance, but both teams are playing for pride it would be consolation win for Australia if they win the game.

England has scored only 259 runs and all out in 47.4 overs. Australia already scored 87 runs in just 14 overs and lost only two wickets now Australia require another 173 runs in 36 overs and they still have 8 wickets. Australia bowled very good to restrict England batsman just for 259 runs and not batsman turn to chase this total and reduce series to 3-2 instead of 4-1.

England's total was not great, but great bowling resulted in them winning the match and taking the ODI series 4-1. Tom Curran took 5 wickets for 46 runs and his superb spell of reverse swing bowling essentially won the match for England. Australia seemed to be cruising with the score at 119/2 at one stage, before they collapsed to lose all their wickets.
533  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-27] Ethereum is Now “Just” $80 Billion Away From Overtaking Bitcoin on: January 28, 2018, 09:50:00 AM
There is enough space for both coins to grow in value. It doesn't matter whether Bitcoin has a higher market capitalization or Ethereum has a higher market capitalization, as long as both continue to grow. Even if the 'flippening' does happen, I don't think it signifies anything. In the last couple of months, both Bitcoin Cash and Ripple have overtaken Ethereum, only for it to bounce back.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the ICO trend giving (Eastern) Europe chance to catch up w. Silicon Valley? on: January 27, 2018, 09:08:16 PM
The US seems to dominate tech innovation because of its many advantages, of which fund raising is just one. The US is the world's largest economy and Silicon Valley benefits from access to it. The use of English is also an advantage, which say Eastern European countries may not have.
As far as ICOs are concerned, they tend to bridge the funding aspect but other disadvantages remain. That said, the Scandinvian countries are considered a hotbed of innovation, in spite of the above mentioned disadvantages.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 27, 2018, 03:37:07 PM
South Africa now require another 224 runs to win this match and they still got nine wickets. SA lost the first wicket quite early in the second innings and If Indian bowler continues like this today as well then they can win this match. India should take wickets regularly without fail to put more pressure on SA batsman. On this kind of pitch, Indian batsman posted decent runs in second innings and they may try very hard to win this match today.
South Africa playing with ease on difficult pitch and looking to win the match, yesterday match was called off by calling pitch as doctored and unplayable pitch but today pitch is eased out to bat, don't know what in the over night. Just 117 runs required to seal the series by 3-0 and they will do it.

India have won the test match by 63 runs. South Africa looked strong when Edgar and Amla were playing, but once Amla got out India kept chipping away. A whirlwind second session when South Africa lost seven wickets sealed the victory for India. The pitch was bad for test cricket and I am sure the match referee will penalize the ground.
536  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-27] George Soros: Bitcoin is Propped Up by Dictators on: January 27, 2018, 03:04:47 PM
Dictators would be the ones who are mostly against Bitcoin. It is something they cannot control by force, even in their own countries. Look at all the countries which are anti-Bitcoin - Venezuela, China, Russia... they aren't exactly proponents of free speech and free thought.
As far as his comments on Bitcoin's volatility hindering its use as a currency - they may very well be true. Bitcoin could evolve to be something akin to digital gold.
537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Downward trend after 1/26/18 CME expiration? on: January 27, 2018, 02:07:06 PM
And what are CME prices for February or March?

FEB 2018  10875
MAR 2018   10885
http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/equity-index/us-index/bitcoin.html

Hmm... This implies the market isn't really enthused about the prospects of Bitcoin right now. Less than a month back, we had people buying call options at $50,000 with expiry in 1 year. Now, the futures are trading real flat. Those who wrote those call options a month back will be very satisfied with themselves.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 27, 2018, 06:08:44 AM
Daaamn this thread is getting busier and busier Cheesy

just some news exposure for BB:)

https://themerkle.com/railblocks-skyrocketed-and-now-its-byteballs-turn/

This is a sponsored article, yet again. The only press that Byteball seems to be getting is sponsored stuff these days.

This indeed is one of the most silly things I have ever seen and makes me wonder bout the sanity of all these so called investors who wander around the crypto space. This is the lever of the population of cryptoland. They don't think. The react at prices without even looking at supply and/or what the hell they are buying. A quite scary environment for any serious investor...
The question is if Byteball should cynically exploit that and switching to Megabytes on exchanges and CMC or just not caring at all, thus selecting an user base of better quality.

Tony has made his views very clear on this. He is not going to try and switch the unit, just because a lot of newbie investors might start investing in Byteball. There may be a lot of gullible investors in the crypto world, but we shouldn't be taking advantage of them.
539  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-27] ICE Exploiting Blockchain to Expose Crypto Use in Drug Trafficking on: January 27, 2018, 05:38:37 AM
It is good that criminals are getting exposed based on their blockchain trail, whether it is done by the ICE or a company like Chainalysis. What is bad is that basic privacy practices are not being followed by people using Bitcoin. It is only a matter of time before anonymity-focussed cryptocurrencies are used for such purposes.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 26, 2018, 01:05:36 PM
India looks in strong position to win this match unless it's abandoned, the Indian captain has decided against it and now I feel team India will look to steal maximum runs. However this is the most dangerous pitch to be battling on, if India crosses 250 its team India winning it right away, otherwise the clamour for Kohli to be sacked will grow but he's done nothing wrong actually.

India have done well to reach 199/6 at tea on the third day. In all probability, this match will finish on the fourth day itself. If India can score another 30-40 runs, they will be firmly in the driver's seat, considering how this pitch has behaved.
As far as Kohli is concerned, he has performed well but his team hasn't. The reasons could be related to his leadership. As Ramachandra Guha said, maybe there should be somebody who can stand up to Kohli.
