981  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Speculative Idea on: December 04, 2013, 10:05:23 PM
I am going to give you all a hint "stabilization"

If it is any kind of investment platform, good luck climbing the wall of trust.

what do you mean?

Bitcoiners demand a lot more from their investment platforms now than in the beginning.  Many scams have been pulled, security breaches (of a technical and social nature), incorrect calculations involving money, regulatory issues (including countless seized accounts), etc.

Everything you do will be scrutinized, from your code, to your jurisdiction of registration, to your legal compliance, etc.

Finally, even after you dot your t's and cross your i's you have to get people to trust you enough to hand over money to you.  And if you are hoping to stabilize bitcoin, you are talking a lot of money.

It's not impossible, but good luck.  You will need a fair share to make it.  But, as they say, the harder you work, the luckier you get.

983  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN IS NOW LEGAL TENDER IN GERMANY !!! GO BITCOIN GO !!! on: December 04, 2013, 09:29:27 PM
Did you even pay attention to what I just wrote?

oh dear.  Undecided

I did..did U ??  LOL  ... it's good news   for Bitcoin Smiley

Legal tender would mean you can pay your taxes with it and anybody you owe a debt to would be forced to allow you to settle in bitcoin.

Legal to use is far less of an accomplishment.
984  Economy / Speculation / Re: If current growth rate continues, $2000 by Dec 16 on: December 04, 2013, 09:21:04 PM
Only thing we know is that right now it needs 4.5 millions dollars of new money every day to stay at this price...

That's not true, only if you assume all newly mined coins are also liquidated each day.

Yes, more or less.

If they are not then the number of ""speculators"" increases wich makes the situation worse later.

Most miners are in it for the radically new capabilities this technology offers, not so they can cash out for fiat when the price is high enough.
985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: nmc mined with btc on: December 04, 2013, 08:24:41 PM
It is called merged mining and it is already implemented.

Well, the chance is that if in a SHTF scenario you will get many more Cypruses around the world. The big problem is really that the banks are insolvent, and several countries are talking about "bail-ins" as a solution. If the fear in the populace is mostly targeted at bank stability and people feel their bank accounts are at risk, then that would be VERY bullish for Bitcoin.

Lets be honest , if right now banks collapse , bitcoin is going with them. But thats a FUD scenarios
As much as we hate banks 90% of us use banks to buy and sell bitcoins.

Correct, if at THIS point banks collapse, BTC would not be strong enough yet to survive.
And I don't hate banks per se, only the illicit moneygrubbing attitude they have, and the way they weasel out of their responsabilities when their scheming backfires.

If banks collapse, people will lose funds.  This will help them see the value in being their own bank (bitcoin).

The banking infrastructure crashing now will be like cutting bitcoin arms and legs.
Imagine the top exchanges  not accepting wires anymore.
Hmm , credit cards will be gone too , so will paypal , lots of alternatives will be also doomed because they do rely on banks okpay, paysafe,wu , they all rely on banks.
Even Bitpay will be dead.
That's a worst scenario possible.
Buying bitcoins via localbitcoins with cash , common , it's a joke right now!!!

If all that shit goes down, how will people transact?

Bitcoin will be the only option..... not that the scenario we are discussing would ever happen.

Hihihi , it's A a FUD scenario , told ya this before.
And in FUD scenario , thing don't go the way they used to be. transactions? 2 sheeps for a camel.

What if I don't want a camel and I want a goat.  And the goat guy doesn't want sheep?

It won't be widespread if this were to happen tomorrow, but so long as the internet is still running, some people will be using bitcoin to satisfy their transaction needs.

991  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin may now level off... on: December 04, 2013, 03:37:01 PM
Well, I´m in Computers for over 20 years now but I really dont get it how to safely bring your Bitcoins on paper.

  • Buy a cheap netbook. Never connect it to Internet (disabling wi-fi in BIOS or device manager is best)
  • Install Armory and run it in Offline mode
  • Create a new wallet and print a paper backup of it
  • Never worry about change addresses again!

There you go.

Sounds easy. For sure. But not for, lets say, Frank from the pet shop who uses his computer only to write letters to his big love in France. Frank does not know how to create an own E-Mail adress or how to use his computer as an Internet Kiddie, born in the 2000s.

You guys know what I mean but dont accept it Cheesy

It is too complicated. Not as easy as using simple FIAT Cash to buy something.

How do I use this email thing?  I've got your address, but what are all these fields?  CC, BCC, subject, body.  I just want to send a note.  Fuck it, I'm going to the post office.

In other words, give it 5 years.

I'm curious how drone delivery will work in big cities where people don't got anything resembling a landing pad in their apartments...

In any case, i expect there will be increased demand for window blinds and curtains...

I think the landing pad is the least of the problems for drones flying over our heads. Btw how the drones are going to defend themselves from kids that whould want to take them down for fun?

The same way windows do.... they call the police.
993  Economy / Speculation / Re: Snoop Dogg Endorses BitCoin ! on: December 03, 2013, 09:20:53 PM
I dabble in drones, and can say the tech to do this is EASILY here now and it's not even hard to do. I could build one that could land your pizza in your front yard or sidewalk from 20 miles away no problem. Building one that can analyse the surrounding area and not land on top the family cat is a bit harder, but still easily do-able, tho not with my primitive skills. I could build one that uses a 4G link to steam view and request confirmation to land from an operator though, thus manually avoiding chopping fluffy. If I can do that with no engineering experience, imagine what a team of skilled people could put together in no time.

Anyway, the problem is FAA regulation. They've been saying for several years they're going to introduce new regulation supporting drone use. They need to get on this, as it's the future. Hell Iceland has a dedicated drone airport. Japan uses them for ag mainstream, even places in Africa have a drone framework. We're stuck in the stone age because of a government basically says "anything we don't specifically say is legal is thus automatically illegal." (USSA anyone?) Then drags their feet to do anything at all.

I've spent several months this year in Japan and I can't say that I've seen any drones in the skies... but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. It's a cool idea, but surely there would be many accidents, no? Aside from kids and pets being chopped up by the propellers, won't they have mechanical issues or collisions midair with birds and such and occasionally fall to the ground? It probably would suck to have a 200 pound drone fall on you while mowing the lawn.

"A dog has been killed today from an amazon drone" and voila. The technology is over. The problem is that since they want to use them for home delivery they can't use lets say specific air corridors for example.

Sure you can.  They could follow roads for example.

On my phone so I won't address everything but 2.5 leverage means you can trade 2.5 times your margin(the amount on deposit).  Bitfinex.com allows margin trading.

Do your own research into the fundamentals of bitcoin.

You might have to search a long time Grin
Fundamentals of bitcoin  is something like philosopher's stone...

So what happens if we break below $1200?
998  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2nd biggest ponzi scheme in history on: December 02, 2013, 04:08:04 PM

Rubbish, if it was a ponzi scheme you wouldn't have Millions of dollars worth of investments pouring into infrastructure projects. If it was a ponzi scheme it wouldn't been over already with the few ultra rich cashing out their hundreds of millions and Bitcoin dies..Bitcoin is here to stay.

Here is just the thing: What kind of money is really needed for Bitcoin infrastructure? BitPay for instance, they run the website, so a handful of webdevs, and then some journalists for PR, and then that's it. (Besides server and office costs that's it).
So what might happen with the VC money in the end? I'll tell you, most of it is sent to the exchange to buy Bitcoins.

Then you are all ignoring the most important argument: Bitcoins are no money because they do not have a "predictable" exchange rate. In practical terms that means nobody prices things in Bitcoins.
Everybody prices things in USD, EUR in the end, even when they produce the product.

Darpa and the NSA started bitcoin so no need to worry about it failing. Its the NSA's wet dream to track all that money floating around and since they invented the crypto for it, dont you think they know how to break it. So bring on the waves of ups and downs and get this S-curve moving up. And someone on here Please give Revans some f$cking bitcoin so he will shut the f$ck up.

He would just sell.
999  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would you put all your savings money into BTC? on: December 02, 2013, 04:06:59 PM
I currently work on a military base in Afghanistan. My food and housing is provided and I have no expenses other than a $99 storage fee back home.

For most of the year I have been transferring my full paycheck directly to Dwolla which I then moved right to CampBx which I then converted to Bitcoin.

Though when Dwolla stopped working with CampBx I have been stuck with these Federal Reserve Notes accumulating in my bank account. I do not like my fiat just sitting there in a bank losing value. Plus I am vulnerable to the bank freezing my account or doing whatever they want with my money as any third party site is able to do.

I enjoy having my funds safely locked in cold storage where nobody can get to my funds without my consent.

I am currently at around 10:1 BTC:fiat and hope to remedy that with around 500:1 (enough for my storage unit and little stuff) BTC:fiat when I am able to get my funds into Bitcoin.

Coinbase is pretty good as long as you don't buy when price is moving 30% in an hour.  There are reports that they have cancelled buys and refunded the dollars in that situation, but I've never had a problem
1000  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tuesday Price Prediction on: December 02, 2013, 04:02:30 PM
It will recover and go beyond $1200

Everybody now is aware of "weekend crashes" and finds it as just a good opportunity to buy.
Demand is still strong as more and more people get verified and have their money deposited.

The Hopium is strong with this one.

He had his fiat seized in Cyprus.  Can you really blame him for being a bitcoin fanboy?
