1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the White House's National Security Memorandum 10 affect Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2022, 04:42:33 AM

If you have an in-depth understanding of cryptography and the layout of post-quantum cryptography by governments around the world, especially the White House in the United States, you will find that the underlying logic of cryptocurrency is starting a revolution.

the government wants to regulate. and they'll do that with crypto. no big deal. in case you hadn't noticed, they don't allow us citizens at alot of crypto exchanges these days. if the government wanted to, they could probably outlaw bitcoin here in the usa. not by doing anything other than scaring companies away from wanting to have anything to do with its citizens...
The first U.S. White House is already calling for a massive upgrade of quantum-resistant algorithms that includes cryptocurrencies. The second nist will announce the algorithm standard in the near future, among which the rainbow signature will exist as the most suitable algorithm standard for cryptocurrencies. Third Ethereum and Bitcoin are already undergoing upgrades. Sadly they chose hashing, which is going to be a huge problem for the next three years. So it is very necessary to deploy some rainbow-signed cryptocurrencies now.

Encryption comparisons that resist quantum computer cracking will become absolutely mainstream from 2022! By around 2030, all of today's trillions of dollars in crypto will be quantum-resistant.

Because on May 4, 2022, the White House issued National Security Memorandum No. 10. It requires "whole-of-government participation" and "whole-of-society participation" across the United States, covering all government departments in the United States, and striving for the greatest possible and maximum amount of work within ten years after the release of the quantum-resistant standard algorithm in 2024, that is, before 2034. Implement quantum-resistant algorithms across the United States.

The memorandum sets out requirements for all federal agencies in the United States to upgrade to quantum-resistant algorithms, with a time-limited, yearly update schedule, milestones, schedules, responses, and requirements.

In short, the United States has launched everything from May 4, 2022, to at least 2034, to upgrade to quantum-resistant algorithms as much as possible. It's bound to drive all crypto-comparisons to quantum-resistant algorithms soon.

In the next 20 years at least, there is only one algorithm that can meet the four conditions of long-term security, long-term stability, long-term efficiency, and the possibility of the world's largest consensus in all the various usage scenarios of encrypted currency comparison: multivariate digital signature.

Around 2030, all cryptographic comparisons will be based on multivariate digital signatures. Just as almost all cryptographic comparisons today are based on an algorithm, elliptic curve signatures.

Multivariate is gold! go! Let's dig for gold together!
Starting from the release of the No. 10 National Security Memorandum on May 4, 2022, and 12 to 3 years until 2035, the United States will begin to mobilize "all-government participation and all-society participation" to fully and to the greatest extent possible Almost all algorithms in the United States have been upgraded and migrated to algorithms that are resistant to quantum computer cracking.

According to this "National Security Memorandum", almost all US departments will start from 2024 and update an annual report every year. These reports involve which algorithms should be completely abandoned and continue to be used from which year. . Several reports are published every year, and several times a year, all cryptographic goods must be upgraded and migrated to quantum-resistant computer cracking.

In short, by the end of 2024 at the latest, global crypto entrepreneurs will see that the elliptic curve signature adopted by BitBee will be completely abandoned by 2035 at the latest, and there is a high probability that it will be earlier! Because the elliptic curve signature used by Bits is one of the most easily cracked algorithms by quantum computers.

This will surely lead to the adoption of quantum computer-resistant algorithms from now on in all cryptocurrencies!

talk is cheap especially when your biggest one to date is only 127 qbits. lets wait and see.

For a company, whatever activities will be done through a quantum computer, will be recorded and I am sure a lot of governments will want to see those records periodically considering the risk it poses for national security.
and if its that big of a problem, government could just outlaw quantum computers completely. problem solved. surely if the gov said not to use a quantum computer, no one would right?

nah. that's not happening that soon not for bitcoin. maybe in 50 years. but not in 8.
What if quantum computers made rapid progress? As far as I know, there are companies in the United States that will get 2,000 qubits next year, which is amazing. Perhaps the programmers of Bitcoin are already preparing for this.

I don't believe quantum computers will be around anytime soon.

Anyway, cryptographic will evolve as much as needed, according to the evolution of processing power. It is just silly to think otherwise.

I'm sure the bitcoin protocol will evolve to the needs and best practices of cryptography, now and in the future.

If quantum computers would destroy cryptography, bitcoin would be the smaller of world's problem. All the banking system would just collapse, as everyone do everything in smartphones using cryptography, for example.
Quantum computers may not be around anytime soon but this thing is there. Do you know what the sword of Damocles is? In addition, you can look at the development plans of various important countries in the world. Quantum computers and new cryptographic foundations are the core.

It looks more like an effort to address all the recent breaches in National Security, Department of Defense and other top secret intelligence that has been hacked over the past couple of years which are only increasing in number and frequency. Possibly the 2 guys they caught recently who had infiltrated Department of Homeland Security for years without a problem was the last straw LOL
I don't see any relationship with bitcoin or cryptocurrencies though.
The new nsm10 is more detailed and more important. The world has officially entered the quantum-resistant era, including the entire cryptocurrency.

Recently, BTC and Ether are ready to change their algorithms, and basically adopt hash function signature. When there is something wrong with the management of all employees, multivariable is the only life-saving straw for cryptocurrency. https://www.quintessencelabs. com/blog/breaking-rsa-encryption-update-state-art/
Bitcoin is not changing anything in any of the cryptography algorithms it is using and there is no proposals.
Ethereum is also not changing the cryptography, it is centralizing itself more by changing its mining algorithm to something that would cost nothing but gives profit to the owners of the 72 million premined ether namely Vitalik et al.
I'm also not clicking that link but it is saying "RSA encryption" which is not used in either bitcoin or ethereum!
The development of quantum computers is a threat and a fact, which can be proved by NSM8. The elliptic curve signatures used by the first generation of cryptocurrencies represented by Bitcoin are facing the threat of being cracked by quantum, both logically and practically.  So it must be changed and upgraded to a quantum computer-resistant algorithm signature.

Maybe you should understand what an elliptic curve signature is.

The hash signature cannot be used in the pow mechanism for a long time, it can only be used in the POS mechanism, so the multivariate algorithm can completely take over all the computing power after chanting for "anti-quantum". Therefore, there will be very big problems in the future of Ethereum to pos. In the long run, only multivariable algorithms can be used to resist quantum computer cracking and pow.

So we may be back in 2009, when Bitcoin considered whether to use RSA2048 digital signatures or elliptic curve signatures. Back then, Nakamoto chose elliptic curve signatures, just as many people are now faced with a choice: Do you want to resist quantum? You can't resist, you have to resist quantum, right? hash? Or multivariate?

Very important!
Regarding why there will be problems in the future when Ethereum transfers to pos:
In 2020, NIST, the National Institute of Technology and Standards in the United States, answered some questions about the use of "all-original hash function signatures" in blockchain and cryptocurrency scenarios. This NIST article on "Total original management of hash function signatures, problems in cryptocurrencies, and NIST's attitude against quantum computer cracking algorithms applied to cryptocurrencies" will be very important in the next few years. Our attitude and Nist is the same or more detailed, and sent to everyone for reference.

Why can Rainbow Signature achieve long-term efficiency and long-term stability? This is because the shortest signature length of the rainbow signature is second only to the length of the signature elliptic curve signature currently used by Bitcoin. But elliptic curves are not immune to quantum computer cracking while rainbow signatures are.
Sorry I won't insert a picture There is a picture dedicated to various post-quantum cryptography algorithms signature lengths and public key lengths.

nothing to do with cryptocurrency or bitcoin.

its purely "ok spy guys, its time we updated our top secret network to the next level of encryption, now discuss what system we should use within the next couple months"

possible impact is that they now see quantum as a threat to old security so trying to get ahead of that. which could mean that quantum is getting near to a point of being a risk. (how near is another story of how long is a piece of string)
Hello Frankie, carefully browse NSM8, the important information is that quantum technology is indeed reaching a critical point, it can crack the signature algorithm of elliptic curves in an instant one day in the future, imagine if the crack is yours How do you feel about a bitcoin wallet? Of course, as far as I know Bitcoin has undergone some technical upgrades but it is very likely that it will be in terms of hash functions. There will be some problems in the future.

In 2022, in the NSM No. 8 document, the White House of the United States put forward clear requirements to fight against quantum algorithms. Encrypted goods will surely enter the era of anti-quantum computer cracking algorithms from 2022.

The anti-quantum signature algorithm used in encryption should meet four conditions at the same time: the first is long-term security, the second is long-term stability, the third is long-term efficiency, and the fourth is the world's largest consensus.

But there are only three types of quantum-resistant signature algorithms in the next two decades.

The first type of lattice signature algorithm, because it is supported by relevant U.S. departments and attacked by Asuri, cannot be long-term safe and stable, and it is impossible to have the greatest consensus.

The second type of hash function signature is very secure in mathematical theory, but in practical applications, there will be problems with the original state management in the decentralized scenario, even if the PIOES mechanism is used.

The third type of multi-variable signature, its public key length is too large, and if the public key is too large, it cannot be used in encryption for a long time. So, is there any way to deal with the problem that the public key of the multivariate signature is too large?

If there are so many variables, it will be the only algorithm that can meet the above four requirements and be used in encrypted goods!

The only thing that can be both pow and quantum resistant can only be rainbow signatures, and only rainbow signatures can be used efficiently in the cryptocurrency scene for a long time.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Regarding pow and pos, I think the final game is still pow as the final choice. on: May 03, 2022, 01:10:51 AM
pow is mainly about ideals, philosophical disputes, not market disputes. The quantum resistance of hash function signatures cannot be designed to mine for thirty or fifty years in pow mining, mainly because the signature length of the hash signature is too large. Therefore, the hash function signature should follow the pos technical route for full original management.

I didn't read the article, I'm not an economist, much less a market analyst, but even I know that the US dollar will always exist, so I respect the opinion of this guy who wrote this, but I disagree with him, the US dollar will always exist , bitcoin did not come to replace fiat, governments will not leave their fiat that contains the history and sovereignty of their country to use only bitcoin, this will not happen, bitcoin will be used together with fiat even if it is 50 or 100 years from now. so
bBitcoin or other cryptocurrencies will coexist with the legal currencies of various countries for a long time.

ABC is an incentivized blockchain
It is a blockchain resistant to quantum computer cracking!
Notice:
It's not like BTC
Deciphering the hash function SHA256 mining
Instead, it solves a system of quadratic equations in a finite field
this is ever
The first blockchain to solve multivariate mining
If we believe in mathematics, then the future of blockchain will soon be brought about by the rapid development of quantum computers, by the anti-quantum computing cryptography, and the future of the next generation of anti-quantum computer cracking algorithms.

The blockchain is rapidly undergoing a paradigm shift, that is, the second-generation public key cryptography algorithm, the elliptic curve signature algorithm ECC, which is never resistant to quantum computer cracking, is the basis of the entire blockchain. Multivariate migration of the multivariate digital signature algorithm.
This is not only the anti-quantum computing cryptography involved in basic mathematics, and the huge social and human technological progress of quantum computers involved in basic physics, but also a wealth transfer that lasted nearly ten years and involved nearly two trillion US dollars of digital assets. Perhaps the greatest opportunity in our lives.

This opportunity is not only brought about by quantum computers, but also may belong to young people who have not seized the opportunity of Bitcoin.

In February 2022, U.S. President Biden signed National Security Memorandum No. 8, "On Improving Cybersecurity of National Security, Department of Defense, and Intelligence Systems," which included post-quantum cryptography (PQC) for the first time.

This will have a huge impact on quantum technology and quantum security in the United States and the world.

The document is the first by the U.S. National Security Agency to specifically mention post-quantum cryptography (PQC) in the current federal cybersecurity program.

This is a huge victory for the Quantum Alliance initiative, which has been pushing the issue of quantum safety for four years, and for quantum information science in general.
