IBM Corporation, has disclosed, talk is cheap especially when your biggest one to date is only 127 qbits. lets wait and see. For a company, whatever activities will be done through a quantum computer, will be recorded and I am sure a lot of governments will want to see those records periodically considering the risk it poses for national security.
and if its that big of a problem, government could just outlaw quantum computers completely. problem solved. surely if the gov said not to use a quantum computer, no one would right? I don't believe quantum computers will be around anytime soon. Anyway, cryptographic will evolve as much as needed, according to the evolution of processing power. If quantum computers would destroy cryptography, bitcoin would be the smaller of world's problem. It looks more like an effort to address all the recent breaches in National Security, Department of Defense and other top secret intelligence that has been hacked over the past couple of years which are only increasing in number and frequency. Possibly the 2 guys they caught recently who had infiltrated Department of Homeland Security for years without a problem was the last straw LOL
I don't see any relationship with bitcoin or cryptocurrencies though.
