I like this forum the way it is.
Same...

My only complaint is, sometimes it takes two tries to make a damn post.

I believe you are talking about session timing out? I think it is to prevent unauthorized activity from your account but I'm not sure why the session times out.

@DooMAD I do agree with you regarding the shitposting part but these stats are for the past 6 months only, this is well after the merit system was introduced. An 8% drop is still pretty insignificant if you ask me. Despite all the banning which has been going on and ranking up has gone to virtually 0. The traffic is still there. Bitcointalk has only seen an 8% drop. This again just shows Bitcointalk's success isn't linked with monetary benefits, if it was the case we would have seen massive drops over the course of a mere few months but the stats show otherwise.

@delaluna I couldn't find the compiled version of it but if you are running Linux, here is the link to the original source: https://github.com/verement/cellminer The compiling instructions seem pretty straight forward. I'm curious why do want it tho? 22 Mh/s won't even cover its cost. Are you doing this for fun?

For the most part, I connect this fact that users are switching to much more modern, convenient and mobile platforms for communication and the Bitcointalk site needs urgent updating.

What makes you think its the "unresponsive" design of the forum rather than what @ThePharmasict mentioned? How are you connecting the dots? Do you have the data to back up your claim? Total impressions aren't a great way to connect the dots iyam. We haven't seen any other "Modern" Forum getting any traction for the mere reason of being "Responsive". There were several forums made to compete with Bitcointalk but none saw the success which Bitcointalk has experienced. Anyway, I have data which can prove otherwise...

I will be comparing forum.bitcoin.com[1] with Bitcointalk.org [2]. One is "mobile" friendly while other is not. I will use SimilarWeb for comparison. Despite being "Unresponsive" and not being "Mobile Friendly". The Average Visit Duration time for Bitcointalk is almost 3 times more than forum.bitcoin.com This alone is enough to prove that being "Unresponsive" Design is not the reason for the decline in Traffic. Other metrics like Pages per visit only further confirm my position. These stats only further confirm what @ThePharmasict mentioned.

225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now YouTube is flagging Bitcoin and crypto-related videos? on: December 26, 2019, 08:46:53 PM
"YouTube admits bitcoin ban was a mistake" - Decrypt, 4 hours ago

The Internet giant says it cancelled everyone's crypto sites by accident last week and that all of them are back online. But checking YouTube says otherwise.

I'm not even Surprised! What I find funny is this stuff actually makes headlines... This has happened countless times with other channels on different niches... The story usually goes something like this > Youtube's AI messes up, lots of Channels get "striked"/get their videos removed for no reason. This is followed by twitter rants and wannabes journalists jump on these stories making all those Clickbaity articles for some "Ad money". Then after a week, everything gets resolved and we see the same outlets reporting stories like these... Oops it was a mistake, Oops it was a rogue bot. Oops that. We get it! We have seen it happening over and over again... Report on something useful! We know the damn routine! smdh...

Looks like Humans are saving the day again... give it a couple of days and the sun will be out again.

Please don't take my feedback as criticism but God! The UI looks terrible, It looks like something out of a basic Bootstrap template. If you guys are serious about your business you should hire a Graphic designer to workout your UX and UI because currently its a mess. Here are some of my suggestions/things i noticed.

- As @shield132 suggested remove that Forced Signup. It doesn't add to a pleasant User Experience.
- I couldn't find a FAQ page anywhere. Nor could I find any information regarding How the "Server Seed" is "Provably Fair". Here is an explanation[1] of how "Provably fair" actually works.
- I couldn't find a TOS agreement.
- You guys are literally advertising another "Gambling" website right on your Signup page. This to me is a shocker! How can you guys advertise something which will take business away from your website? I do see the referral links but I don't think it's worth it in the long run. It doesn't add any confidence to users who would want to use your website.
- As for the domain and Game ideas, Maybe hire someone on Fiverr who will actually do the creative work for you guys? There are plenty of creative people out there.

If I were to rate your website right now. It would hardly get a 1 out of 10. Try something unique as suggested. This looks like an alpha product instead of something which is production-ready.

228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to send bitcoins to such address in message ? on: December 25, 2019, 03:48:58 PM
but I need a proof that this payment belongs to my user account !!

If you have already sent a payment, Then you can sign the original BTC address you sent the payment from as a way for proving that you were the one who actually sent the payment. You can read this article[1] it has a bunch of guides explaining how to sign a BTC address with different wallets. You can basically say in your signature that this address belongs user XYZ that way the person who received the BTCs can verify that it was indeed you who sent these BTCs. Also, Which wallet are you using? If you are using something like Electrum then you can simply paste the URL in electrum and it will automatically detect all the details just like @khaled0111 mentioned.

So I have a suggestion: if a forum member didn't get any merit in the last, for instance, 90 or 120 days, then such user will not be able to change the signature.

+1. Although many signature campaigns do have this requirement I feel like this should be something set as default. Not All signature Campaign managers have this rule and some new ones don't give a F@@k about spam.

I agree.  Just wanted to point out - AIs will not make any errors - they will act as programmed, and if they do something wrong, it's because we made an error programming it.

What I meant by "errors" is that the AI at the end of the day relies on the Operating system, Sensors, etc. These can often fail but the failure of these is often placed upon failure of the AI itself. Besides that, the whole concept of AI is that they have incomparable experience in different situations which may arise. I do agree with you that if AI was trained on "bad" inputs/variables it will fail because of Human failure but not the failure of itself. E.g Never training a Driving AI on Icy roads and then expecting it to nail the driving is a bit of stretch.

Quote from: Vod
This is why manual drive cars will be gone before 2050.  If a car makes a mistake, a programming fix will make sure it never happens again.  Humans make the same mistakes over and over no matter what they learn.

Tesla's are the future its just a matter of time before the transition is made.

Quote from: Vod
How long until AIs can solve modern captchas anyway?  A year?  Two?

You know what's funny. The captchas we are solving today are actually being used to train the AIs, So these do exist already if technically speaking but they are few in number and not for public use just yet...

If you don't have an issue with KYC then I will recommend Skrill. This is something I have used personally in the past. You can read more about their Debit Card here: https://www.skrill.com/skrill-prepaid-mastercard/
You can pretty much shop for free in shops, restaurants, and online no fees on that. They do have a 10 Euro annual fee and a shitty 1.75% per ATM transaction. You can also exchange your FIAT to BTC on the Go. So that's that. You can use Skrill to accept Online payments so that should cover you there, I feel like Skrill will do the job for you as it checks all of your required boxes.

As long as the prizes with this amount, the amount of $ 600,000 is a ake promises, which makes us doubt everything related to this application.

Where did you get this $600,000 from? 50 BTC which is stated on their English Website? I couldn't find this $600k figure. Anyway, I was investigating them, they claim on their English(International) website that they 1st launched in 2016 in Japan but the appbrain[1] data suggests otherwise. AppBrain shows that the app was first launched on Jan 2, 2018, instead of 2016. The only explanation i can think of is that their previous App got deleted and they re-uploaded it on Jan 2, 2018, but that's just my assumption. I don't think we will get an explanation from them tho.

@stompix I think its a bad translation. I believe they give out 0.1 BTC after 7 consecutive correct predictions which is way better than SparkProfit's payouts.

Care to name its missing features [if there are any]?

From the 5th image from their original app[1] on play store suggests, Coin news, Coin hack and Coin Post seem to be missing from the international version that could be one of the reasons for the size difference.

The only solution is to choose/create a game that doesn't have any AI that plays it better than humans.

AI will always come in the lead for the mere fact that they are trained on/for a dataset that will be beyond human experience/capability. Dota 2, for example, has no "moves" to it. Everything is "Dynamic" yet OpenAI which was trained for a few weeks came forward and beat the world's best[1]. Here is a quote from OpenAI blog[2] regarding the timeframe the bot spent on learning.

Quote from: OpenAI
In total, the current version of OpenAI Five has consumed 800 petaflop/s-days and experienced about 45,000 years of Dota self-play over 10 realtime months (up from about 10,000 years over 1.5 realtime months as of The International), for an average of 250 years of simulated experience per day. The Finals version of OpenAI Five has a 99.9% winrate versus the TI version.

Same happened with "Go", this game was thought to be something which AI's can never be good at, But then came "AlphaGo" and beat the best of us. Currently, AlphaGo has the lead. AIs given enough training time will always come in the lead as they are less prone to making errors and have tons of experience on their back. I believe there will be no game in which humans will come out top. AIs will always take the lead.

As for OP, I believe there is still a chance for his project. He could make this project for friends who want to play against each other. People who trust each other enough that they won't screw each other via cheating could use a service like OPs but then again the People who OP will target will be very small in numbers. Another way to use his project could be, OP could make this a faucet of sorts. Teaching people how to Play checkers and at the same time get rewarded... But if there isn't a way to sustain this project then it's better to kill/sell[3] it than operate it at a loss.

Just wondering how much does the user gets per correct prediction? It looks like a good alternative to SparkProfit. Also, why does the Play store shows it has only 100+ Install while the website claims it has given out 50 BTC. I couldn't find the Japanese version of this app on the PlayStore. Could you link the original app URL as well? Because the current Play store URL only shows 1 review, I doubt any app that has given out 50 BTC will only have 1 public Review which too was posted only a few days ago...

Edit: Never mind found the original app...

Is charging back not the big problem with PP? or is it a case of putting faith in trusted members on here that they would not do a CB? I deal with chargebacks already with my work it sucks! but still people said earlier 3-5% is expected fee with forum trades? Makes it not worth it for me.

It is and its the part of the game. Usually "trusted" members won't put their reputation on the line for a couple of hundred dollars but yeah you are basically putting the ball in their court if they want to screw you or not. 2-5% usually is in the form of "shitty" exchange rate basically. Yeah, If I were you I would be using something like Skrill for converting BTC to Fiat and call it a day. They charge 1% on BTC to FIAT and Flat 6.5$ per withdrawal. Up to $10K per day I believe.

An exchange site with a cheap website?

I would hardly call their design "Cheap" in any way. Looks quite professional and that's coming from a UI designer. Anyway, I did some quick digging. The domain was updated on 2019-07-02. Updating doesn't mean the website came up from the dead. It just means they went probably live with their betas/testing during that time. Also, it's registered via escrow.com so most likely they have spent some dough on this domain to acquire it. Their CEO (Dustin Walper) has been fairly active on twitter from the past few days, other than that his activity looks pretty normal. I feel like they have gone into their promotional phase now, hence why we are seeing this post. I couldn't find any reviews of their exchange except from one tweet from a guy named "Jack Dani". His profile looks legit as well. Anyway, I feel like they should have designed a professional thread for Bitcointalk. This thread adds no confidence to new users.

Oh yes of course there is the swallowing the centralization pill and just verifying ID at one of the big exchanges but that kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it?

You have to swallow either one of the pills. You decide which one it will be. @OmegaStarScream has given you the best alternative I can think of. Run your own Server. There are 1 click deployment[1] solutions out there, so you don't even need to know the technical side of things and exchange your BTCs on this subboard... The downside is you will end up paying 2%-5% while exchanging with users here. Also, there are many trusted escrows around here you can involve them while doing your exchanges which again will add up in your exchange cost. The ball is in your court, decide what it will be. Good luck!

That is something for the "second generation quantum computers".

Even if you say these will be "The  Second generation of Quantum Computers" the fact remains that these will be only a few in numbers at first, It took decades for "Personal Computers" to roll out after the invention of first few generations. It will be same with the Quantum Computers I believe, Just like its mentioned in this thread currently a Below 0 degree temperature is required to run today's "Quantum Computers". So when these 2nd, 3rd or 4th whatever generation it may be, become a reality. Everybody won't have these in their basements... Only a select few will have the opportunity to work with them. What will happen to the "Decentralized" nature of the CryptoCurriences?

I mean if you look at companies like Bitmain, they use their Asics first and mine the S**t out of them, driving up the hash rate, Once they are done they sell their stuff to the public. All I am saying is will we be able to "save" the decentralized nature of Cryptocurrencies. Once these "Super Machines" become a reality?
