(Australia) BPAY recall: How to show igot.com the respect they deserve.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1041548.0

Contact your bank, in person if possible, and explain that there's a problem with a bpay payment made from your account.  Don't expect that the teller will immediately know what to suggest but, if they don't, tell them you'd like to do a 'bpay recall'.  Be prepared to wait for a more experienced teller to assist.

I did this at a Bendigo branch but I think this is more to do with the bpay system rather than individual banks - there are a number of set justifications for making this request, one of which is 'incorrect reference number'.  This is what I chose - which I'll explain below.

I was told to expect a 7 to 10 day wait before my money (not igot's money) would be back in my account.  Again, due to the bpay system, there is a $20 fee for a bpay recall - which I accepted as the cost of taking a chance with a shitty bitcoin exchange and not researching customer feedback prior to risking my money.

Roughly seven days later, my money, minus $20, has been returned to my bank account.

As for choice of justification...  If a biller gives you a bpay reference number and you make a payment that subsequently doesn't get credited to your account, any number of things could have happened.  The least suspicious of which is that you made a mistake entering the reference number.  Choosing this particular justification gives the biller the benefit of the doubt.  But, on the topic of doubt, the biller could be an abusive arsehole that treats their customers with contempt and makes bullshit excuses about fraud in the bpay system that necessitates Orwellian identification measures that are unheard of with any other biller I've ever encountered - all the while holding your money in limbo.  Or, the biller could just be a fucking thief.

In summary, fuck you, igot.  Fuck You Very Much.  Do not trust these fucking arseholes with your money.
3  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying bitcoin for $AUD bank deposit or face-to-face in Brisbane, Australia on: July 16, 2014, 08:23:25 AM
I'm still interested in buying bitcoin - I can pay via cash or precious metals in person.  Fair, market rate trade offered.  It may take a little while for me to respond but I will respond.  PM me for specifics.
4  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: LARGE VOLUME BUY BITCOIN SERVICE - AUSTRALIA'S BIGGEST on: July 04, 2014, 10:08:02 PM
I'm interested...  Just had a look at the site.  In one place, it says the minimum order is BTC5, in another (on the order page) the minimum purchase $AUD300.

What I'd like to see is some feedback (trust rating etc) here or elsewhere.  Searching...

[Edit] Not great...  http://bittrust.org/bitxoin

This is a bump with a bit extra.  There was also something scheduled for the 12th of July at 2pm that I wanted to go to...  But there are some other dates listed as well -

6  Other / Meta / Split Currency exchange into Buying Bitcoin and Selling Bitcoin on: July 03, 2014, 12:53:33 AM
At this point in time, I'm only interested in buying bitcoin so I'd find it useful if there was a dedicated area for posts re: Selling Bitcoin.

Currently, I have to pick my way through Currency exchange, mentally blocking all the posts from people like myself who are also trying to buy bitcoin.

In no way at all does it inspire confidence - the language is highly reminiscent of email scams.

Who has bitcoin to sell in Australia?  I am willing to transact first to your bank account or, if anyone can exchange in person in or near the Brisbane CBD, that suits me as well.

In person, I'd like to buy up to BTC1 to begin with.
Otherwise, I'd prefer to make some smaller exchanges until trust is established.

I will do my best to respond to anyone that's interested even if it takes a while.  Let's do some business!
