1  Other / MultiBit / Using PHP to interact with MultiBit on: April 14, 2015, 05:34:36 PM
Hello

I got a PHP app and I wish to use MultiBit as a bitcoin backend. Is there any way I can interact with MultiBit?

Thanks

I don't fear someone taking it as I would first grab the domain and then post Smiley
Thank you everyone for your comments!

I'm wondering what do you think about the name Bitazio as a company name for a upcoming Bitcoin startup, a Bitcoin Exchange?
If you comment please also write why you find this good or bad. I find it important to receive constructive feedback from a large community that is involved with BTC. I also have the .COM with this name, which is a plus I think.

Thanks!  Smiley

It would be better if it were bit + an english word, since it is easier to remember, and it's more catchy.
What sort of a Bitcoin Exchange are you planning to open? The market is quite saturated right now.
It's hard to find those now days with .COM running out, even long ones.

Thank you for your great replies! The company I want to start is a Bitcoin Exchange.

You could indeed incorporate in Tunesia, but in a lot of countries it is illegal to participate in gaming outside the country. To offer service eg. in UK you need a licence in UK and an office AFAIK.

I think this clears all my questions out, thank you everybody for giving me the advice!
8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Account-feature stable? on: April 10, 2015, 05:04:37 PM
I know how it works and found a way to make it work with my application, but my question is what would be better in terms of performance and stability. How do others do it when developing wallet functionality? I found a few code examples but seem to be using the account feature instead.

Are there any better alternatives to the bitcoin core wallet to do this?

AFAIK almost all people use Bitcoin core for these things including exchanges. I don't know of any other wallets which have or is good for RPC.
I was looking and couldn't find any others indeed. Would these exchanges use their own DB or rely on the accounting feature in the core client?

Use your own database.

The account feature in the Bitcoin Core wallet doesn't work the way most people seem to assume it works.

Is the account feature in the bitcoind client stable to manage 1,000's of accounts for a wallet service or is it better to manage balances/transactions using it's own database?

11  Bitcoin / Project Development / Suitable backend for exchange on: April 07, 2015, 09:57:30 PM
I'm looking for a good backend I could use for my exchange software I'm planning to make. The software is written in PHP and currently interacts with bitcoind using JSON-RPC. Are there any (better) alternatives to the bitcoind daemon? Is there backend wallet software that supports "HD" wallets or has multisig support?

Why do you only offer a email which interacts with the API? If your mobile app is released and is communicating with your appserver, getting the IP is easy..
If your server IP is only interacting with the API and the bitcoin network, its not like people will find your server, without guessing.

Also, why would you use email? If its not going to be used anyway in the future...

So confusing, just like the thread and the site content.
