An OG collector, don't see many of you around these days. There is certainly still a market for higher valued coins though it is fading as the price of bitcoin rises. Delivering the coin is best done in person, so you may have to hop on a flight for the sale (or have someone trusted do it for you). I think a lot of these are being peeled due to the complexity of a sale. If you do peel, try and leave the hologram intact as much as possible, it greatly increases it's value. You might expect to get $200-500 , which always varies greatly depending on a number of factors. That is if you even want to sell it. I'm not sure what the last one sold for but I'm sure MinerJones will chime in and share that info. Cheers.
Last I remember was Anduck having a few of the errors sold/auctioned here on the forum.... but think they were ICG slabs, not ANACS. As it stands, I have seen some raw coins go for in the 1.2 range, showing that premiums are slowing picking up. I would think that now that they (ANACS) no longer grade crypto, this may lend itself to getting a higher premium. And any exposure on a secondary platform can also increase this, as we have seen on places like Scarce City and Ebay. Thanks for the info MJ. I had never heard of Scarce City before, so I went to take a look and saw a coin I sold on here in 2017. Glad to see it hasn't been peeled and is still in circulation.

Thanks for the information. I think I'll hold on to this one. As people I gave/sold coins to back in the day come back to me for peeling, I have generated a somewhat large supply of peeled coins. All still have their holograms intact, so I'm pleased to see they have a market as well.

Economy / Collectibles / Is there any interest in peeled Casascius anymore?

Long ago, I gave out Casascius 1 and 0.5 BTC coins as gifts for various occasions. Due to the high prices, most of these people have come back to me with requests to get their money out, so I've reluctantly peeled.
Is there any market for the peeled coins anymore?

Why don't you post the address man? Even if there was a potential buyer, I'm pretty sure not publishing the public address raises a red flag and he might just skip the thread alltogether.
Some idiot added extra bitcoins on it. I'd rather not have it done again. It was a problem in the past but these days no one is going to spend their money on transaction fees just to push dust onto your coin.
