3302  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 21, 2016, 09:59:46 PM
I'm selling two S9s if some EU guys are interested.
3303  Economy / Computer hardware / (sold!!) [WTS] [EU] 2x Antminer S9, 11.85 Th/s and 12 Th/s on: December 21, 2016, 09:56:48 PM
edit2: both of the miners are now sold!

edit: one sold and the second one is at the moment reserved for a potential buyer.

(sold!)The first one is stock 11.85 Th/s (550 Mhz) , non-autotune freq firmware model.

(sold!)The second one is stock 12.93 Th/s model (non-autotune freq firmware model) underclocked to ~12 Th/s (562.50 Mhz) , because one board has trouble getting to the nominal hashrate at stock 600 Mhz frequency setting.

I'm asking the same price from both of these miners.

Price: 1.5BTC per unit +shipping costs.
PSU is not included.

Miners are in good shape and working nicely with reasonable temps.

Location: Finland (EU area)

Escrow is ok for me, at buyer's expense.

3304  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 21, 2016, 07:32:19 PM
I bought two batch 4 8.7Th/s R4's and I'm replacing 2x S9 with them.
It means less howlin' noise for my home mine.
I will keep two S9's in the soundproof cabinet.

3306  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: December 19, 2016, 10:05:07 PM
With the compartively low power density of these boards (compared to S7/S9/Avalon6 etc) they could be made pretty quiet. 6 boards in a 4U would run a bit hotter than an S2 at stock, but since it's adjustable that wouldn't have to be the case.

I think that's the main issue with the latest hardware, trying to cram so much into a small box
bitmain could of released single or dual board boxes, or spread the chips a bit more and had the same efficiency, in a more affordable box, with less noise.

But they aren't in it for the little fella.
Well they came up with the R4, it's better than S9 in that kind of sense.

Bitcoin: yes.

As for the server rack solution, same kind of solution could be done like with the S1 boards.

My message in the canada group buy thread:
I wonder if these boards will be able to be installed into a 4U server case etc.. I realize you would need to source heat sinks, but nothing else would really be needed would it?
You could come up with this kind of solution https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=650462.20

I now just tried with the PICkit3 to:
1. Read a good PIC firmware from a good hash board
2. Write a good PIC firmware to a dead hash board

No effect. The dead hash board is still dead.
So it is probably not just "soft bricked".
So I wait for the answer from BitmainWarranty (www.bitmainwarranty.com).

I have previous experience with the PICkit3.

Do you have the image file from the good hash board? I'd like to have a look at it if you could send it to me.

In what way is your board dead? Mine died immediately AFTER a firmware update, it never hashed on the new firmware, so I'm pretty sure it's software related, unless the bad software caused something to overheat.

Bitmain thinks it's an incompatible firmware, which is weird because they said it was for "all" but we'll see if they can help me. They responded to my first e-mail and I gave them more information, now I'm waiting to hear back. Thankfully I only flashed one of my S9's, the rest will probably never get a firmware update, it's too risky.

Here is the HEX-file PIC16F1704_firmware_good_condition_board_S9_11.85ths_model_non-autotune.hex :
https://mega.nz/#!4l8HzB7A!R_Fomh8O5uSk8VVqmRseGduxSbvl_ajDNcATl3z22hA

Make sure that you know what you are doing. I take no responsibility on this.

My board went dead just suddenly without any warning.

3313  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: December 18, 2016, 10:14:31 AM
Silly question maybe but I have 3 A6's can I string them in with an A7?

Probably not backwards comparable but why couldn't it be?

Thanks everyone
If you have the newest software version installed in the Raspberry Pi, both A6 and A7s should work.

Kano, do you see any possibility to upgrade to the newest version of the cgminer with these S9's ?
I guess it is much harder than it was with for example with the S1 and S2?

Any update Phil?
Did you get your unit, is it running already??

...Putin to start the delivery of the chip.
Not so cool way to mock the only guy that is helping to provide 16nm chips.
Also as a Finnish fellow (as mr. Punin is too) I highly dislike this comment.

edit: Ok then, sorry
3317  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 16, 2016, 07:27:54 PM
Got damn it, I now have 1x dead hash board with my S9 11.85Ths non-autotune model.
I contacted BitmainWarranty.
Does someone from the EU area have some experience with them?
I know that the closest service point near me is Russia.
Let's see if they could fix it there.

Nice, this is like a major gear shift now and the project is running full speed  Smiley
Thanks for the efforts for the home mining Sidehack and Punin!
3319  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Alternate Antminer Controllers on: December 15, 2016, 07:54:00 PM
I think you're don't understanding how the controller is built.
Or are you dreaming about replacing the BB board (Beaglebone Black) with a raspberry pi?
What is a Beaglebone Black: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeagleBoard#BeagleBone_Black

You can only replace the Beaglebone Black on the S7 controller with a Beaglebone Black.
I would suggest to find out if the Beaglebone Black is dead or if the I/O board is dead.

It doesn't look like I've received payment for block# 443121. Is it just me?
That payment will be confirmed by the next block that we will find.
