Could we update the thread title to use the word masternodes somehow? People won't initially know what a throne is when they see the word. We'd need to update the OP too.
I reckon people don't realise that we're putting together a decentralised application platform with incentivised nodes.
I agree with that! We have loads of tech and no PR We've had help from legendary Dev's such as domob to implement time stamping, name stamping and merge mining. Chaositec (and others) for Throne's (masternodes), but we haven't had time to promote it all Can we work on a big update once we iron out the guide? An update would be good but we need some other ideas. Once a few people take notice of what we're doing I think things will grow from there. How about a giveaway or competition? I'd be happy to give away a few throne's worth of coins. Any ideas? How about a giveaway AND a competition? We could have a competition for the best Guide to setting up a Throne. Conditions - Ease of use - Visually descriptive - Easy to update Payout - 1st 25k 2nd 15k 3rd 10k The giveaway could be for ideas. Specific ideas on what decentralised apps could be implemented to the second tier network (Thrones) Conditions - Must be viable - Different to other ideas Payout - 1000 CRW per idea, max 15 ideas. Just a silly idea, maybe you can mix it up

DETERMISTIC recognise that word?
Means you can verify by compiling yourself that a given executable was compiled from the same source will give same end result.
You are trying to clutch at minute details while ignoring to address the major issue, which I have to repeat again. No matter if someone is able to produce the same executable, this in no case prevents you from changing the code next time... Thereby, it can't be a proof the way you want it to look And that is why I'm trying to tell you that the only way to make proof is by having source compiled by 2 different people... and I didn't say only once... you seem so determined to proof me wrong and argue about details you clearly have no real grasp of, it is quite simple I provide a service use it if you need this service.. if you want get someone else also do a compile verify the sources are the same... all your points are basically moot and therefore you only try to show yourself as right no matter the facts... ergo troll As I've explained earlier, you would more often than not get different binaries even if they are actually compiled from the same source, for a multitude of reasons, some of which I have mentioned. To sum it up, you claim innocence in a world where the assumption of innocence usually doesn't end very well... And surely is not the way to go You raise issue's that are well known in the world. Trust. Trust is needed to conduct business, no trust no business. Banks lend large amounts of money to people for over 30 years. There's a huge amount of trust needed here, but banks take precautions, they vet the person, check his credit history. You as a customer to chaositec can hire someone to vet his code (If you're not able to yourself). Fundamental business operation is based on trust, it's that simple. If you can't trust people, good luck. If you don't trust chaos, don't use his service, but for everyone else, i can recommend chaositec.

I personally don't intend to make excuses.
We are we we are. The best I can do right now is to take steps to stop anybody updating without knowledge of throne payments and offer a refund to any miners who feel they were misinformed.
At the moment, I believe that the majority if not all groups using the new version were aware. I don't think it is right or fair to accuse of us of deliberately stealing.
Updates will follow today.
@stonehedge, Thank you for looking at the problems from a miner/pool ops perspective & finally addressing my/their concerns. Yes, stealing is a strong word & one I don't like to use any more than you like to hear it - but it is what it is. When something is taken from someone else without their knowledge or consent, it is stealing - weather intentional or not, the word is the same. I think it is also worth mentioning that the amounts taken are not so much the issue, it is the percentage - 40%, which is a large amount, that was the bigger issue. The rollout of thrones has been pretty shambolic from beginning to this point in time tbh, but I am happy that someone on the crowncoin team has finally decided to address the issues instead of trying to make excuses or posting abusive comments - & for that I commend you. Hopefully others on your team will follow suit. I look forward to seeing the thread OP, the website & gitrepo updated with clear information about the state of play regarding thrones so that everyone who wishes to get involved will fully understand what software to use & how to use it. When this has been done & I see that any coins requested to be returned are done so, I will consider pointing my hash back at CRW & supporting the network again. Crowncoin has a $10k marketcap, used to be $2k! What do you expect, seriously? There's no premine, no ICO, no bullshit. We have been 100% open about everything that's going on and the reasons for it (I can cite) We have 0 dev funds, Our old dev left... And look at us now! We now have a part time caretaker dev that's very experienced. We have the code for a paid full node network. New members to the team that bring a hell of alot of experience and connections, and your moaning about not having a guide ready, and 40% of coins going to Thrones? Miners can choose to not mine Crowncoin, or stick with the old code, you know? New miners that are unaware of current development are here for profit. I don't care about those guy's, they will return once crowncoin becomes profitable again, simple as that. They wont feel ROBBED like you suggest lol and we certainly aren't stealing anything! You can set a Throne up right now! Or do you want me to come to your PC and do it for you? Even then i'd mess it up. Why don't you do a guide on how you set a Throne up? Or shall I give Evan Duffield a call and get him to personally tell you how to set a Throne up? Coz ya no a no him an ezz part of devvy team. We're barebone here, 3-15k marketcap, no full time dev... What your asking for is a fully functional dev team with PR skills, github skills, linux skills, C++ skills, HTML skills, contacts, money, time. If we had all of this crowncoin wouldn't be worth 3-15k! WE DONT HAVE ALL OF THESE THINGS AND HAVE NEVER SAID WE HAVE. (Although with time we are building a great team here and we soon will have all these great skills come together) Get a grip on what we are capable of.

I am going to produce a Crowncoin version of the guide tonight for publishing tomorrow.
Thank you, although you did say the same a few weeks ago, but better late than never Please don't be so cynical.
I'm not being cynical, I'm stating fact. You said over 3 weeks ago: The long answer will be in the guide I post in the next day or two.
But still didn't do so, despite me reminding you on several occasions. Stating that you haven't done so "because none of us know how to set one up well enough" doesn't wash, because you've all set your own thrones up & are running them - at the expense of every miner on the network. For over 3 weeks you & a select few others have been taking 40% of every miners work, that's a very tidy sum. Saying that the proceeds you've taken from miners will be "GIVEN AWAY" will not make miners OK with that, because they have not been given either a choice or chance to run a throne like a select few are doing. This throne rollout should have been fully tested on testnet first, then relased to the public with a clear & precise guide enabling everyone to be able to set up a throne to offset the 40% loss of mining revenue. That way, you wouldn't have to "GIVE AWAY" the proceeds you are taking from every miner. I was sceptical of this throne business from the start because I knew that if it wasn't done correctly it would only be the miners who would lose out. As it turns out, I have been proven 100% correct so far. You sound very competent at the whole crypto thing... Why haven't you offered your expertise to the barebones dev team we have? We could really have used you brilliant organisation and critical skills, damn man! We messed about for months trying to make Thrones a thing, and you could have just done it all perfectly for us! O well.

The long answer will be in the guide I post in the next day or two.
My thrones still aren't getting payments despite adding the "externalip" line to my conf & restarting them. Is this still the case? What's your Throne public address? Edit: Did you add the "externalip" to both local and remote .conf? No, because I didn't know I had to, because there is still no setup guide. It really would be so much easier if you just wrote the setup guide you said you would a couple of weeks ago - then everyone would know what it required instead of guessing. Im just guessing here... I guessed right. Im a noob and not the best guy to make a guide

That done the trick. Repo must be full of uneeded stuff I reckon - maybe dev could give it a clean out to reduce the download size? 750Mb is rather large Haha, he's well aware of the problem and will fix asap. Stone received his first payment, wont be long until your's. Are you going to donate your coins to the dev pot, or keep them? If you keep them, think of it as a testing reward I'm obviously doing something wrong, no payments & when I input throne start I get: not capable throne: Could not connect to *.*.*.*:9340 Any chance of that guide? Does your .conf look like this? rpcuser=*** rpcpassword=**** listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 externalip=149.56.15.75 throne=1 throneprivkey=***********************
