Draft V0.2 of the white paper for comments.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oXPcN_l3vHIJq0PmhsVWCvdx45ovcJ-ifxkOPEOClZw/edit

After a commenting period, we will finish off the conclusion.  A technical paper might follow in due course (not sure its needed yet) on how to deploy the Bitcoin full node incentives program.

I guess that will have to wait until ServiceNode testing is started, along with a separate testnet for the Bitcoin nodes program.

If you read how the incentives could be funded, you might get as excited as I am about the viability of the program.

Comments will be much appreciated. Stonehedge is on holiday at the moment, so very little work will be done on the white paper now. It's basically done.

Draft v.03 will also see some formatting changes and a contents page. We can then, hopefully, send it out to any Bitcoin devs interested enough and willing to comment.

After that, we'll incorporate any changes before pushing out the paper and engaging the media to see what the Bitcoin community thinks.

What does Spreadcoin get out of supporting the Bitcoin network?

Good to see you around here.

Whats your opinion on the present and future direction SPR is going?

It's just as important that you answer those questions.

I'm behind the current path.

"PoBN" will be hard to implement, but i don't really see the harm in taking this direction.

If successful SPR will be responsible for 1000 new bitcoin nodes (practically off the cuff). That's got to be worth something to both bitcoin and spreadcoin networks.

I just wanted to hear "thelones" unique opinion, still waiting Roll Eyes

Is anyone still watching MrSpread's wallets?

We saw movement the last couple times we looked, but iv not check nor heard anything.

Worst pump and dump scam EVER.

IDK, I am not so sure.  Anything is possible, but there is a limited number of these coins, no more will be created right?  I know that doesn't mean by itself it is a good coin, but I like that, it makes me feel like there is a potential value there.  It is a risk, all alts are a risk, but that is ok.  I got them for really cheap anyway so it is ok to lose a bit too.

9% annual return for masternodes, so im not so sure if the supply of drkt is over.

It just smells of copy paste scam.

Dev has been gone 5days, after claiming he would aim for an update everyday?

Scam imo.

Edit: 6days.

You want real development? By sincere people? With REAL interest in crypto currencies?
Then look up the two cryptos bellow my post Wink

We'll have to release an update early next week.

Then I can get back to thinking about packaging for franchising.  The SPR approach to no fixed collateral might make that a little easier than I first thought.

No fixed collateral?

I'm with you Roll Eyes

Ok. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I can't input anything in the Add Pattern field under the Vanity Gen Tab.

Is there a trick to it?

I have the same problem.

Also i found a spelling mistake

"These canl be automatically"

Ouch, thanks for telling. Fixed it. Will be in the next version.

Awesome, it works brilliantly!

Do you know of any other crypto with vangen inside the wallet?

How do i import the privet key again?

Hey,

Thanks for the cheap SPR. I think I got some of those  Smiley

I guess there were several ServiceNodes worth.

I got a few myself!

I'm so impressed by what georgem has done with the vanitygen i'm accumulating my initial stack  Wink

Edit:

Well this is very, very interesting

ShapeShift.io and Coinomi.com have teamed-up to allow for instant altcoin exchanges within Coinomi's multi-coin, universal wallet! You can now buy or sell Dash with multiple altcoins without leaving your wallet.

Coinomi - multi-coin wallet, and open source too  Roll Eyes

You thinking this could be used with the SPR exchange?
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (official thread) on: June 15, 2015, 06:16:14 PM
hey guys - got the problem : No block source available - wallet can't sync. Solution?

go to the console in the wallet - located in tools / debug console / console ...

in the console bar type ...

addnode <node> add ...

where <node> is one of these listed here - https://chainz.cryptoid.info/spr/#!network ... from the button 'node list' ...

punch in a few of them into the console and it will start to sync ...

it only needs one to be active the moment you do it - then close - and wait for the wallet to sync ...

#crysx
thanks for the reply. That's the first thing I've tried and it doesn't seem to be working. closed/opened wallet too but still have "0 active connections to spread network". I also noticed "connection timeout" over and over in the log.  Other ideas?

If you have the patience...

A new wallet is due out, with fresh connections and you will have no problems connecting.

The question is, how long can you wait?

Mining difficulty went through the roof.

From 4 to 12 in hours!
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (official thread) on: June 04, 2015, 10:29:37 PM
I personally have no idea why the Bitcoin Foundation aren't willing to solve this problem themselves.

However, if they won't, we will!

Time for a whitepaper?

Time for new wallet, time for testnet, time for roadmap.

Give me something

Exactly, SPR is all talk with false promises don't you know.

As soon as you buy they make profit off a slow dying coin.

False promises? Ouch!

Taking more time than I anticipated, yes.
Am I getting impatient, yes.
Faulse promises, no.

...

just shows you didnt read the thread, too bad, your really trying soo hard to troll and fud, but fall flat on your face, when trolling, you need to have your facts straight, and try and turn those facts around to sound like they are in your favour, but alas, you failed... if you need more lessons in trolling, feel free to ask.

Well it is because SPR was instamined upon release and the reward wasn't 6.66SPR flat it was much higher, 4000 coins was nothing to these Miners/Dev as they had stackloads but for the market price it was ridiculous considering for the buyer as here they are thinking they have a lot when really others have much more than them from the earlier days before the 1st fardfork, they might of change the cap or whatever so it is the same amount of coins still but with a lower reward but that means whoever wants to make money by mining it will end up in futile since as stated before others have incredible amounts of coins from the old reward system.

Yawn.

Parameters
Algorithm: SpreadX11
Block generation: 1 minute
Difficulty retargets: every block based on last 360 blocks
Reward starts at approx. 6.66 coins per block
Block reward is smoothly halved every 4 years
Total supply: 20 mln coins
No year 2106 problem
Initial reward was 66.66 coins per block and spacing between blocks was 10 minutes, this was changed after hardfork at block 2200.

Yeah we all know how the whole 10 min block times work once launched especially difficulty retargeting every block based on the last 360 blocks...

Yawn for that !

Instamine can't be stopped !

What instamine? I'v clearly just shown how SPR has never been subject to an "instamine"

Scratch that, looks like im mining my own chain.

Is there anyway we can revive testnet?

I wish you all at SPR good luck.

I'm sure the community appreciates your well-wishes. For my part, I look forward to reading your posts when you've matured sufficiently yourself to make enough of a contribution to the community to gain the level of respect that e1ghtspace has.

Cheers

Graham

has anyone looked into a viable and cost effective vps for hosting a btc full node in preparation for testnet?  What about hosting several service nodes, say 50+?

Everything is up in the air atm.

Knowone knows anything about how servicenodes are going to work.
The dev team told us, SN testing would happen at the end of the month, but in actual fact knowone has even looked at the code MrSpread left behind.

My faith in the dev team is slowly diminishing.

I see the "new wallet" that's being worked on as a walk in the park compared to SN's, and that's already overdue.

I hope my skepticism is invalid

if you can throw something together, i do welcome it, and i bet georgem would welcome some help as well, but sometimes things take longer that imagined.

look at the history of darkcoin, how long did things take... it wasnt done in a month, it took the best part of 6 months to get up and running, and the hardest part right now is the service nodes, after we get them working, adding services will be the easiest part...

the question that remain, do you want something thrown together, or do you want quality, that doesnt need to be rewritten, patched all the time?

[rant]I'm all for rewriting and patching. Things change, the code will have to change eventually anyway.

Progress is super slow, deadlines are missed, no direction.

Servicenodes with "BTC nodes" is going to take months to release, even to testnet, which i bet 0 investors want to hear.

"BTC nodes" could be an addition after we have implemented SN's. The community will grow as a result of SN's and the developers will emerge to help with adding "BTC nodes" and "services" to servicenodes.

I think the team needs to be upfront about what kind of time scale we are looking at, something we can refer to and hold dev team to account over.
So if the new wallet is going to take 2 more weeks, then say that. If its any less then well done! The community will love you.

If you haven't even looked at the SN code as of yet and you KNOW it wont be tested for at least 3 more months then let the community know that.
Investors are under the impression SN testing was at the end of May. It's now the end of may and the wallet isn't even released.
No member of the dev team has said "sorry guys, but SN testing will not be at the end of may".[/rant]
