Has the dev team left the project because of the fork? I see no reply's concerning the current fork?

Maybe this was a pump and dump and the dump just happened.  Cause we had a huge drop in price a couple days ago on a massive dump.

I hope not - Vertoe seemed like a legit dev with a plan.

that would not be vertoe's style, he has shown to be a man of integrity in the past...

The network forked days ago now, and no word from any dev? It's like a big fuck you to the community. I don't hold any cache, just amazed by the incompetence vertoe has shown.

has anyone looked into a viable and cost effective vps for hosting a btc full node in preparation for testnet?  What about hosting several service nodes, say 50+?

Everything is up in the air atm.

Knowone knows anything about how servicenodes are going to work.
The dev team told us, SN testing would happen at the end of the month, but in actual fact knowone has even looked at the code MrSpread left behind.

My faith in the dev team is slowly diminishing.

I see the "new wallet" that's being worked on as a walk in the park compared to SN's, and that's already overdue.

I hope my skepticism is invalid

So much for "Decentralise Everything". If no one is going to actually reply to my last post, how will anyone take Spreadcoin seriously?

maybe they are busy mate ...

i think its a great way to do pretty much anything on the net nowadays ...

but the concept really is still theory and chatter rather than implementation at the moment ...

this will take time to get the base implemented and with that time - there will be interest - but not so much activity ...

at least - thats my take on it all ...

#crysx

actually, georgem and i have already discussed it, and agreed that its a worthwhile thing to do, but it is not going to be worked on until we have servicenodes up and running, and converted to core anyway...

Great work eight! I'd love to see something like that implemented.

But judging by the pace of development where talking months maybe a year to get to that point, which is unfortunate.

We do need the SN NETWORK 1st and foremost, as this will draw more community support.

Poof, and the wall has fell.

Bitcoin Authenticator: Decentralized 2FA and Next Gen Wallet

 Cool

I got lost in the song lol

I should download and have a play around.

Couldn't spreadcoin have a Spreadcoin authenticator?

Wondering what´s up with the wall..just someone messing around I guess

Yeh, if someone sold 50k into that wall, it would soon go.

I doubt there are many people looking to sell at the moment.  Wall has gone up to 7666 so maybe buyer is serious(ly deluded) Cheesy

Hey, maybe im wrong, maybe the guy is serious lol.

In that case, its good to see a solid, legit buy wall!

I met the CEO of Zopa, one of the first p2p lenders, when it was a two year old start-up. I loved the idea of p2p lending when he told me about it, but I didn't know how big it could get:

The State Of The P2P Marketplace Lending Industry

http://www.marc.cn/2015/04/lendit2015-and-the-state-of-p2p-marketplace-lending-industry.html

Not sure why p2p lending isn't running off blockchains  Roll Eyes

It seems there is only two large company's collectively worth around $10 billion dollar's and growing.

Seem's like a very good app to run on SN's!

50K SPR for 3,3 BTC is still a bargain tho..Cheesy

I agree. That's some going saying it was nearly 0.00016 two weeks ago!

3.3 BTC then, would only of bought about 18,000 SPR

Why are you guys working so hard on something that can be done simply, all coins use masternodes now pretty much why can't you just release it.

All this talk & hype about SpreadCoin & masternodes or servicenodes or whatever you guys are calling it yet other altcoins are dropping masternodes out their ass upon release...

If you didn't know, the code MrSpread left behind has a unique feature "decentralized reference nodes".

Something any clone of Dash/Darkcoin doesn't have (as far as im aware).

Dash uses reference nodes which eduffield controls. While dash users understand this is a temp solution the problem still exists.

MrSpread fixed this and adds huge value to the code.

I really don't see much talk/hype around here? Just ideas of what we could maybe have on the network...

What hype?  We haven't even got to proof of concept stage for our first services yet.

Yeah check out all this HYPE!!!!

It really shows Spreadcoin and how everyone is so HYPED about spreadnodes.  Roll Eyes

Edit: OMFG Why can I not remember SERVICENODES  Embarrassed

As there are no nodes/servicenodes as of yet, spreadnode is prob the most appropriate name for the abstract concept of "servicenodes".

For any new people/investors.

Georgem (the new spreadcoin dev) is working on a new wallet design. He underestimated the work required to implement these changes to all 3 wallet's (Apple,Linux,Windows). So this is taking maybe a week longer than anticipated by Georgem.

Once the wallet is out (Due any time now) georgem can start working on releasing SN's to testnet.

If you'r after a quick pump and dump then you may as well leave. This is a real grass roots project now, the dev may not be as "quick" MrSpread, but georgem has integrity and will see this project out to the best of his ability.

If you want a guesstimate,

Within 1 week we will have a new more practical wallet ready to house servicenode maintenance.
Within 3 weeks servicenodes will be in testnet, with a 75% chance the current devteam can actually pull off a successful test and subsequent realese of SN's to mainnet.

Looks like people are pricing in servicenodes not being in testnet by the end of the month.

It's not really a problem, but i think the market is correct.

Is there going to be a Vanity Gen inside the wallet?  Grin

Yes.

Yessss!! I have been waiting for this for a long time!
Which tab will it be in?

Is Spreadcoin the first coin to have Vanity Gen inside the wallet?

In the same place where you create New Addresses. It will let you decide if you want a vanity or normal address. Vanity addresses are then listed as "processing" until they can be used.

It will not have "tabs" as you know them, but rather categories and subcategories. So expect a new mainmenu (left sidebar):

One category is "wallet", another is "mining"... (soon there will be a category "servicenodes", etc..)

Each mainmenu has its submenu section (that looks similar to the former "tabs")

We need this additional structure because there are a lot of new "tabs" coming our way soon. (we can't fit them all in the tabgroup the way we got used to, it would look ugly and unordered.)

Awesome!

Here's what i imagine the tab list to look like.  Tongue

....
Isn't the point of spreadcoin to make its own economy/market place? This should mean 1 SPR has value no matter what happens to bitcoin.

....

Yes, 100% SPR has its own value.

But when you are offering services, I'll take anyone's money  Grin

It just so happens that BTC is worth $3.3bn and has had nearly $1bn of VC money pumped in over the past few years. A percentage of that will do to start with - 100 BTC / day makes a nice little investment, 1,600 BTC / day makes supercharged nodes and 3,000 BTC / day in transaction volume makes everyone very smug:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ov0YKQwPzqgkLarfvXWvugzQ3dne3gtkW7-5MV2kHk4/edit#gid=0

Sorry I don't follow the 'spread'sheet, "Daily BTC equivalent volume"? Can you explain this? Thanks

Edit: It just clicked Cool

The mother ships needs supporting.

Without the mother ship and $millions being spent on crypto infrastructure, we are a bunch of nutters on the internet.

Isn't the point of spreadcoin to make its own economy/market place? This should mean 1 SPR has value no matter what happens to bitcoin.

Dash would still be worth something if bitcoin went away. It has it's own user base, has real world function, a profit incentive from masternode.

(Bitcoin isn't going anywhere imo, too many people use it, same as dash).
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (official thread) on: May 20, 2015, 05:17:37 PM
Blimey.  The BTC blockchain is coming down at 400Mbps and speeding up.

i have fullnode bitcoin and spreadcoin running :-) figured i might as well be ready .. lol

Looks like VPSs running Bitcoin nodes is the way to go, before you know it:

What purpose does it serve to have the bitcoin client running side by side with a SN? What value does it add to SPR?
Seem the value will be added to the bitcoin network and not ours... Infact, forcing users to host one Bitcoin node to one SPR SN is inhibiting to SPR.

Can someone convince me? Cheesy

Q-

Will the end of this month still bring servicenode testing?  Shocked

If so, should we open a thread on spreadcointalk.org with basic direction on how to join testing?

Eg,

How to boot spreadcoin(testnet) and safely separate 'testnet' files and 'mainnet' files.
A guide on how to configure a testnet .conf.

We're going to need as many people as possible testing, and a guide on how to do the most basic things needed to help
with testing should come in handy.

I could open the thread but am not the most clued up on spreadcoin testnet  Undecided

Bump

I will release a new qt wallet with new features later this week.
After that I will need 2 weeks to prepare the first testnet servicenodes version. (so we are still +- 1 week within schedule)

I will make the testnet version completely separated from mainnet spreadcoin. (as if it were a new different coin, and not testnet of main.)
So there is no danger that you can mess up mainnet and testnet files. You will even be able to run mainnet and testnet side by side.

I appreciate the help you are offering, but I don't think we will need it ATM, because my goal is already to make the testing sessions very easy and accesible.

Thanks for that  Smiley

I like the idea of having a serperate 'sprcoin' for testing, that make's things much easier.
