On Byzantine Fault Tolerance in Blockchain Systemshttps://cryptoinsider.com/byzantine-fault-tolerance-blockchain-systems/The Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) is a proposed alternative consensus algorithm to the better known Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake algorithms. Notable blockchain projects like Ripple, Stellar, Hyperledger and Antshares are investigating versions of BFT systems for their blockchain-enabled products. Byzantine fault-tolerant algorithms could be increasingly important in the future due to their ability to minimize attacks and software errors which lead to faulty nodes and arbitrary behavior. Antshares, a decentralized smart contract platform, employs Delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance (dBFT). It features two blockchain participants: professional node operators, called bookkeeping nodes, who run nodes to make money, and users. Proponents claim dBTF offers better security in blockchains.
dBFT’s on-chain voting process dynamically votes in/out transaction validators and allows for universal consensus mechanism on public/permissionless and private/permissioned blockchains.
“Specialized bookkeeping nodes” achieve consensus in a dBFT blockchain thanks to “delegated voting.” Two-thirds approval is needed among nodes to approve a new version of the blockchain. This system, proponents say, protects against forking events, radical changes to the implementation of a blockchain system that can undermine participant confidence.
“After investigating and studying the crypto-industry and blockchain technologies for several years, we came to the conclusion that the delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance alternative (or dBFT) is best suited for such a system,” Erik Iz, co-founder and core developer at Antshares, stated. “It provides swift transaction verification times, de-incentivises most attack vectors and upholds a single blockchain version with no risk of forks or alternative blockchain records emerging – regardless of how much computing power, or coins an attacker possesses.”

Also, I've partecipated in the signature campaign at the first days of august.

I've been researching ANS and came across this quote in a CoinTelegraph article: "the direct using of fiat currency is available to eliminate regulatory risks in terms of government interference."
Is this a case similar to XRP where the token isn't necessary for using the system? Or am I misreading the statement?
Thoughts appreciated - thanks.
My interpretation is that in that case the Antshares company burns the Antcoins, and charges for them in fiat currency. I mean that's the only consistent interpretation, but of course might be wrong. Thanks spacedv. Is anyone able to verify this? I've been searching around but can't verify/disprove fsr ... Not sure what the CoinTelegraph article is talking about. Compliance with the Chinese Gov. is an important part of a seamless connection between tokens and CNY. |

People, please wrap your heads around open source technology concepts before jumping to conclusions. Yes, it's true there are projects using parts of the open source Antshares blockchain, but this is not an affiliation or partnership. It can tell you that the technology is working, and that's about it. (the extra Press coverage is nice, of course!) If someone wanted to fork a new Antshares chain, they could of course do anything, like issue an ICO start up. However, this does not mean that you can do that with the Antshares project. The main purpose of the Antshares project is to digitize real-world assets onto a blockchain. A quote from the recent Verge article [ https://www.theverge.com/2017/5/11/15622222/china-s-unique-and-successful-take-on-the-blockchain] The Antshares project’s goal, for example, is to allow for the digitalization of real-world financial assets, such as shares and securities. The idea behind Antshares is not to create yet another crypto market for tokens, essentially devoid of any real-world backing, but rather to create a cryptographic platform on which shares, bonds and other highly regulated securities, backed by corporate profits and liabilities, can be traded. I'm looking to claim my ANS from ICO - I have downloaded client and imported my private key. I've confirmed on the website that I sent BTC to my ICO address. Apparently there used to be a page to "claim ANS", this does not seem to exist anymore.
What steps do I have to take?

It is a real chance and opportunity, and I think a smart strategy. As long as it is under the radar with no official english representative, the coin will stay bnder the radar for westerners. As soon as the team pays someone 1 hour time a day for an english translation, the coin will soar. Easiest investment ever.
