Which would require that different blockchains didn't use the same address formats... like BitcoinCash using identical address format to Bitcoin. In cases like that, it is IMPOSSIBLE for a software wallet to determine if the address is BitcoinCash or Bitcoin. Also, I'm not sure how you think this idea will help? For instance, for any given Bitcoin address, there is a "matching" BitcoinCash address. If I accidentally sent some Bitcoin to a BCH address, the transaction will be successful, regardless of whether or not anyone can actually access the private key for that address. Huh. Didn't know that. Well that's not smart system design, imo. Okay, detecting right away based on the address isn't an option. I have a book about bitcoin internals but haven't read it yet, hence I don't know such details. The small transaction confirms... the 99.99% transaction then gets sent anyway. All this idea would do is A. create more transactions (which we really don't need)... and B. cost users more in fees.
However, if BitcoinCash used an unique address format, then if one were to attempt to send BTC to BCH, it would fail as the address would be rejected.
I agree, small transaction confirms isn't ideal at all. A bunch of extra transactions, fees(I hate fees, here comes again - bad design, imo). But hey, we are dealing with money here. If protocol is designed the way that one sends X amount and accidentally messes up the recipients address in the process and sends it, then what? Oh well, too bad it's your fault or your system's fault your money is gone, sorry you're stupid, come again. Let's face it, how do most people usually input addresses to which they send coins to, they copy and paste them, and just to "be safe" they check first 3-4 chars and last 3-4 chars so they match and then click send. Am I right? I mean I am not saying this should work this way or that way, I am seeing there's an issue and there were instances in the past when people had same issue and it seems like there needs to be an improvement to the system.

This is an interesting look at a global scale. I personally can very much agree to all you wrote above. Great observations. And I am sure other people who watch and try to understand what's going on will also agree with you.

Andreas HajpunIs it easy? In what way "easy"? I would say yes, compared to stock trading or currency trading, it is easy, easier than one would think. Easy to create an account at popular exchange, easy to deposit money, and easy to loose your money or chunk of it. I wonder if anyone has created any kind of manual for crypto trading ? At least to cover basics for people who want to get into it. I've had some experience for a little less than a year, have some knowledge. I might write one up soon. The biggest challenge for me is learning to be patient and waiting for the pump before I sell, and then being patient and waiting for the price to drop before I re-buy.
This is probably the main challenge in this "crypto trading" game qimanYou sound like you know something more than you said. Would be nice to know a little bit more in depth on private whale clubs. Do you have any info available to where find them or how to get in to one of these clubs? Yes why not.. Use a trading site and watch analyzing charts.. you wold be successful..
Haha! Why not

Seems like there was already a response on Cryptopia forums with a link for a recovery process - https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Forum/Thread/6507Hopefully their support will be able to resolve this. Personally, I think it would be smart to program wallets so that software would auto detect if you are sending it to proper address, to catch such a mistake before it becomes fatal. To take it a step further, a system would send smallest amount possible to that address and if transaction is successful, send the rest 99.99%. How many BTC did you send? OP included transaction ID: Transaction ID: 27ddeac780978f24d49b493cc9b6b819a6d819e2d9c406fd5f1673246da814f7 Output address: 1DJheE2EGZsyXRG8SfeTtivSgbezL34bGB
the address I sent my bitcoins to is: 1EqkMgZaR8vaPQJ1gHjbNY75Cp9k7i1L6T https://blockchain.info/address/1DJheE2EGZsyXRG8SfeTtivSgbezL34bGBAmount is showing 0.7543611

Interesting list but a bit confusing. Top 5 based on what? And how does #4 belong here...? Putting test account along with people who have big input is confusing.

Guys relax and don't stress. Why? Because nobody cares. Why nobody cares? Here's why. I have a number of bitcointalk domains and I've had them for a while. Registered and traded stuff to own some them with one purpose. Why? IN CASE this original bitcointalk.org gets hacked, shuts off, gets seized or whatever happens to it there will be a chance to set up a copy of it and point to it with one of those .NET or .INFO extension. And what, I sent a PM to forum admin but didn't hear anything back. This forum has gained what is called *critical mass*. There's no need to worry. There's one of the websites similar to this with .club extension. And what? Nothing

Now the project is known as Bit-disconnect.
LOL. Good one hahaha. UPDATE: Yesterday their exchange was "unavailable" and a lot of people thought all hope is lost. Reddit link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitconnect/comments/7qvi2h/cannot_exchange_bcc_for_btc_help/Well today I am not sure what time the price for their BCC coin was updated on their website similar to one on coinmarketcap (~$34). People were able to log into the exchange and exchange BCC to BTC and withdraw whatever it comes out to be, which is about 10x less than a few days ago. Also, there are ways to send that BCC coins to another exchange such as OCTOIN and exchange it there.

If someone would bump this up a few times periodically next few days that would help spread the word.
Hopefully those people out there who still have their money "invested" into that scheme would still have a chance to act.

Can money buy happiness? Lots of people said bunch of stuff didn’t have time to read through all. It seems like majority of people understand as it does can buy happiness.
There’s different kinds of happiness. In short, yes it can. How ? If you see a person in need of something and he can’t afford it and someone or you or whoever buys him that and gives just like that because they can - I’m sure a person would be happy. Simple example- money brought happiness (or bought). Another example - a kid is awaiting surgery and he needs a transplant which is rare and family can’t afford. If there’s a person or a group who can sponsor or donate the resources/funds to have it done, will it bring happiness to the family and kid ? Money is a tool, a resource. It can bring happiness and it can bring sadness. Managing this resource wisely is a whole another thing.
In some cases one simply can’t buy happiness when it comes to feelings and stuff like that. Those are exclusions.
Topic is titled grammatically incorrect. But oh well, so many ppl in here having English their 2nd or 3rd language I already got used to it .. although when you are reading something poorly written u wanna correct it and u can’t 😃

Hm, does an empty coinbase account be it "old" or "new" have any value ? I guess only if's got very high trade limits, then yes, could be valuable for someone who needs an account to trade good. With their stupidly strict system and low starting buy/sell/trade limits it's hard to get your account to a level where they'd let you do at least $50-100k+ transfer volume. And with their support often being too busy/backed up/overflown, and sometimes pretty dumb it sometimes gets to the point where I need to drive down to San Fran and punch some people in the mouth.
