Too bad the haters turned off/sold their miners.  They missed the balancing rounds for the bad luck ;-)

I've checked out a few of the Hashing Centers in Washington.  0.03/kwh... Awesome price until they tell you ambient cooling and 2 year contract up front....  I think it's hard to predict the future of BTC.  Like most have stated: It's been a lot of fun.  When I broke 100Th/s I was pretty happy.  Figuring out how much I had to reinvest to maintain payouts... What a bitch.

Don't lose too much in this hobby/passion.  When you get to the point that your hardware is paid for, try and use self control ;-)

At the end of each month I have more in the trading account than I have to pay out ( My hosting company takes bitcoin of course ).  When I get too far into the math it can be discouraging or disappointing.  I'm sure lot of people enjoyed extra pocket money.  Even a few lucky people did it for a living.  I think everyone who tried it had fun.

Did you spent over $100K for 100THS?

I'm in I.T.   I was putting miners in racks that were under utilized.  We had roughly 80 racks that I would spread miners out in.   After the hardware was paid for I'd get more miners with coins.  When I got up to my first 10THs I got my own racks and switched to 208/30 legs instead of 120v.  I'm pretty sure I'm well over 100k in hardware, but it was mostly self funded by mining.  It's been the replacement of old miners and then adding of hash to sustain payouts that has been the challenge.  If power was free this would be super easy.

I was fortunate enough to get involved with Telarus that found DCs for Cointerra.  I was able to piggy back buys.  I have miners from most of the big manufacturers.  I really liked Dragon Miners for a bit.  They just sucked in racks.  Cointerra and S1-S3 do well in in racks.   I wish I had spent more of my own money up front.  I'd be way further ahead.  I'm risk adverse and was doing it thinking I'd just maximize all my racks I was paying for to just host servers. It's just grown from there. ( I was only paying for miners, the power was part of the contract even if not used).

All hardware is paid for. I just need to decide if I'm buying more hash.  I got my shipping notification for 185 S3+ today from Bitmaintech (107 coins).  I'm really interested to see how those go.   It was all bought with coins after expenses.  I should get cheaper power after this next roll out. I'll save almost .025 kwh by volume, which will add a lot to my bottom line.  I'm not looking forwarded to dealing with external PSUs again. But the math seemed real good for the next 6 months.

So interested in Solar, but what an investment.  It would rock if miners lead the way on renewable energy and got us off Middle East oil, all for the Hash!

I also wish I'd participated on the forums instead of just trolling :-)

So a quick question the mining calculators make it tough to decide is it possible to still make a profit if I add a cointerra iv there is one available for 950$ I'm gonna try and get it for 850$ or btc equivalent anyone that has one does it hash consistent around 1.6 th/s also what is the stock power draw? Huh

I have 18 IVs in my farm. I'm pretty sure the power draw is 2100.  Buying a used one now.... I wouldn't pay more than 500.00 and only if it's a confirmed Data Center pull.  You need time to make your ROI before the next bump and 1.6TH isn't as much as it was 6 months ago...

Cointerra is selling them for 999.00 for buys of 100+ (used confirmed DC pulls ).  It was 1500.00 3 weeks ago.  I think you can see the trend.  In a few months you won't be able to give them away just like old KnC , BFL, Avalon, etc.

so adding the 1.6ths for 850$ is still not a good deal? it is a dc pull and verified temps and hash i pay like .07 pkwh with 10% diff jumps looks like a sub 90 day roi which is the same as buying 3 s3+ and or 2 tubes etc? I mean Roi is tight across the board right now and im not seeing great improvements sp20 will be more power efficent but costs way to much for the hashrate who knows when s4 etc will come out diff will be 40+ I'm just trying to find an economical way to stay valid until next phase ie: 20nm 1th/s per 500w miners come out for 1th/s per .5btc lol Roll Eyes

You have to get them cheap and fast ( and of course not broken ).  If you buy them this week for 850, they will be 150 less in 10-15 days.   Smarter Farmers are blowing them out and putting the money toward more effecient miners. Timing is always fun in the BTC world. I only have 2 SP30s.   They are nice, but I can only run two on one 208/30 leg.  Dropping more whips to a rack still costs me money.

My DC only charges me for power. No cost to bandwitch, cooling, or space.  The miners just has to conform to cold side and hotside  ( pull and exhaust ).  I'm in Utah and there are about 3k IVs in the the same DC I'm in.   I'm focusing on S3+ and Spoonies atm.   Even though I swore I'd never do pre purchase again ( Thanks BFL ).

You will be able to get IVs close to 500 next month I'd bet.  It's your money, and I feel confident you understand the math and risk.  Tough call, my brother.   I have 2.5th/s miners I bought last month that are already 1200 less to buy new.

It's been a bit since this has happened.  Slush always takes care of it, just always very little or no comms.   It can suck to see 40th/s not reporting.  I figure if they don't fail over to a backup pool they'll end up getting reported correctly (2x expierence with this happening ).  Like folks have said - the front end and the back end are different servers.  Patience just sucks sometimes ;-)  I still average higher payouts here over a year now.
