Russia and middle east will obviously team up. Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Turkey, Finland will fall within the first month or two. The deciding factors of WW3 would be who Germany sides with and if the USA will have both China and Japan on their side. If they are it makes it a one front war for the USA.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Are The Most Important Features To You? on: June 09, 2015, 07:14:53 PM
The most important feature of a coin is its community. All other features pale in comparison.

But how is that community built? If the coin does not have promising features, it will not have a community right?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What Are The Most Important Features To You? on: June 09, 2015, 06:18:25 PM
There are a lot of altcoins out there. Each one trying to be different. But I think that with this process of trying to be different, many coins are just running around in circles with pointless features.

What coins do you support and why those coins?

I personally like altcoins with an easy paypal -> altcoin transfer like dogecoin had. Mobile wallets are a plus. PoS and no premine obviously are important. A marketplace where the coin is accepted is great too. But these features are rather simple and are the basics for most altcoins. What coins stand out to you and why?

I've dealt with more than $2000 in this forum in the past 2 years.

Thank you for the list. You mentioned escrow before, I am assuming that my payment will be througb PayPal?
6  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buy .18BTC for $50 on: June 07, 2015, 11:19:27 PM

I could give you 0.18 BTC for $50 paypal.

You will go first and wait for 10 days.

OR

I will send to escrow and you will pay me and wait for 10 days.

I will not wait 10 days for my btc unless you have a long list of vouchers saying they got what they paid for.

If you have another payment option which would be irreversible on my part, that can be used through escrow and does not require a 10 day wait, I am all ears.
7  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Change my 43$ paypal to 30$ btc on: June 07, 2015, 11:10:44 PM
Question:

If I do buy the paypal from OP, can I use it to buy something so even IF he does reverse it, I will already have spent it?

What happens is you spend the money, he reverses, you are left with a negative balance. I personally don't know the consequences if the account balance is left negative, but I can't imagine what they can do to you without an address, SSN, bank information, exc.
8  Economy / Currency exchange / Buy .18BTC for $50 on: June 07, 2015, 05:33:28 PM
Want to buy .18 BTC (May vary a bit by price at time of trade) for $50. I can do prepaid Visa or Paypal.

We will use MM for trade and I will pay MM fees.
9  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Got my ROI some days ago... on: April 12, 2015, 06:56:58 PM
Wasn't the whole point to reach ROI when the price of btc goes up? As long as you aren't losing money you should at some point in the future reach an ROI regardless of your investment or current rate of profits.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Examples of public rejection of fiat on: April 10, 2015, 01:49:58 AM
As a cashier, I'd be more than delighted to give every customer that pays with cash the finger and a pamplet that gives them the news flash to get updated with the rest of the world.

But sadly I have to reject this urge and smile as I cringe counting small coins to give back to the customer's because nothing is ever a fucking exact amount.

And yes, I just got off work and needed a place to express my fustrations. Why can't these fiat holders give in and pay for their groceries in bitcoin. Undecided

Nothing of the sort is posted on their website. Thanks for warning others.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can I keep MYSELF from spending my BTC in the next 5 years? on: April 01, 2015, 07:11:49 PM
Learn self-control. Really, it is one of the most important skills to have in life.
13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just found this site for buying and selling bitcoin through paypal on: March 30, 2015, 10:55:34 PM

Yeah I've used cryptothrift to sell a few bitcoin for paypal, even with escrow you still run the risk of chargebacks in the future. Fingers crossed it hasn't happened to any my transactions on there so far. It's a decent marketplace, kind of reminds me of Bitmit.

That's true. But considering you can edit reviews of users at anytime, it appears that for the sellers with hundreds of transactions, they have never once issued a chargeback since nobody has edited a review stating that they've been scammed.
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just found this site for buying and selling bitcoin through paypal on: March 30, 2015, 09:59:00 PM
Bear in mind, all of your "tests" are with very low amounts. If the transactions are worth only a few dollars, it would make sense for them to follow through and give you your cash if it means you convince others that there's no scam. So when somebody sends out 3 btc hoping to get paypal because all of these $5 transactions went so well, BOOM, they vanish without a trace.

EDIT: For those of you looking to get paypal, this site may be an answer https://cryptothrift.com/

Money is held in escrow. There are people with 400+ transactions on there that have no negative feedback. I personally have sold about 1 btc in exchange for paypal through sellers at this site.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin payroll debit card launched by Bitwage and Xapo on: March 27, 2015, 06:26:59 PM
Is there really any point to offering a debit card when no merchant has backed any support by accepting it as a payment type?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal President's Bitcoin Fascination on: March 26, 2015, 02:52:47 PM
One of the fundamental parts of paypal is the ease in which a transaction can be reversed if the customer is not pleased. Bitcoin transactions are irreversable. Many websites that currently accept paypal may be cautious about this. So that means Paypal will have to take the heat if something goes wrong in a transaction. Something I don't see happening.

The fiat payments are usually not reversible either but it's paypal's system that is the weak link. Paypal doesn't actually take the money back out of your bank account they just minus the balance from your account and then you owe them the money so they essentially take the heat until you pay back. If they handled bitcoin payments it would probably work in a similar way. Either that or they will just hold the money as some sort of escrow until the transaction has been successfully completed.

Actually it does. I sold multiple items on eBay and some buyers submitted a claim that the item was not as promised or not as delivered. Immediately after the claim was filed, the transaction that put money into my account was instantly frozen and I was not allowed to access the funds. When eBay took support of the buyer, the same transaction was reversed.

PayPal can always act as an escrow service. But the money would be held for an enormous amount of time and buyers would have to send some sort of conformation that the item is as described and that they are satisfied with it to prevent a chargeback. Something that doesn't really seem realistic in the business world. Also, when you reach a negative in a PayPal account, youre more or less going to pay up since a typical PayPal account is very transparent. Bank accounts, credit cards, even SSN numbers are linked to peoples accounts. You can't just abandon the account and expect to start a new one. But what about bitcoin? Really the only information you would need to put up is your bitcoin address. You get debt in a bitcoin PayPal account its no big deal. This is why PayPal would probably request you link a lot of personal information in order for you to buy stuff with btc. Something a lot of bitcoin users may not be all to happy about doing.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason behind the surge of merchants accepting Bitcoin in 2014? on: March 26, 2015, 02:18:36 AM
I would have to disagree. The companies mentioned above that began to take Bitcoin as payment probably had no interest in Bitcoin themselves nor did they particularly care about increasing their sales through the currency. Many of their customers I'm sure do not use Bitcoin as a payment option because paying in fiat is just as easy as paying in Bitcoin to major, secure, retailers. It probably did end up costing them some money to cut a deal with Bitpay or whoever their 3rd party exchange was. They may take a percentage of each sale, or something kind of fee. The reason I see many companies taking Bitcoin is for fraud. With Bitcoin, a company can't be held liable for fraud or chargebacks as often paying with fiat. That, or maybe it was a domino effect after Overstock.com started to accept Bitcoin.

Not true. The CEO of Overstock has millions invested into BTC.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2014/02/21/for-overstock-ceo-bitcoin-isnt-just-a-publicity-stunt/

Don't forget that paying in fiat online usually involves a credit/debit card. Visa/American express/exc charge fees everytime their card is used. Depending on which fee is greater, bitpay may be a cheaper option than accepting cards.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: March 24, 2015, 01:59:15 AM
It's probably our fault as a whole for not keeping the Middle East updated with the rest of the world. It's a shame many middle eastern countries did/do not have any access to references or any education that would have helped develop their ways of thinking. In such a backwards society of a backwards culture, it's not a suprise that people are walking into shops and buildings with bombs strapped to their chests. Seriously, it's a supirse we've waited this long to do something. There needs to be a radical social change in the middle east. Kill off the threats of those who oppose intervention and flood the middle east with textbooks and education from multiple perspectives from multiple countries from around the world. Teach them about freedoms, teach them about rights teach them about love qnd humanity. Help build pathways to the internet so more people can access information online. The more educated they are about the world around them, the less terrorists will become of the children in the middle east.

It's rather sad this is where PND ended up. Had a lot of things really going for it. Makes me a bit more weary of altcoins in general now. That even some of the most promising coins with great devs can end up like this. Glad I dumped months ago.
