1  Economy / Reputation / Re: Two alternative accounts, one of which forgot to re-login. on: November 10, 2025, 05:09:37 PM
In addition to Obari currently violating the ban circumvention rules, there is also a violation of the company's  rules.
Considering Obari owes shasan $330, I won't negatively tag him now to give him the opportunity to pay up and at least remain honest with @shasan.
Isn't this the reason why almost every account is taking loan now? If having active loan is a valid reason not red tag account until they clear they clear the loan, that would be a good reason for account farmers to keep taking loans with their farm accounts even if they have no actual need for the loan just to keep their accounts safe from being tagged. I noticed the lenders ignoring the tag on accounts with cases and still give them loan. As long as they keep extending the loan it means they safe?  Huh
2  Other / Meta / Re: Signature campaigns must be TAXED for redistribution on: November 07, 2025, 08:04:56 PM
I'm surprised this idea is coming from a high rank member. I think the higher the rank, the more reasonable the post should be  Smiley

Haven't we passed the era of exploitation? This is purely exploitation! The system will even favor non signature participants than the actual participants.

Correct me if I am wrong please. So literally, the forum will automatically turn to money making platform where you just need to be a member to get paid?

Suppose the tax is mainly for the maintenance and improvement of the forum if the need be, that is a fair suggestion but tax for redistribution is totally off point in my opinion.

In every society earning is attribute to hard work, not emotion or pity. I see no reason why forum should be different, offer to reward for just being a member. Personal donations is always a welcome one, people who feel some persons are not benefiting enough from the forum can decide to make donations for them willingly and not through tax imposition.

The forum is fighting against alts but this suggestion is another way to reward alts.
3  Economy / Reputation / Re: A hero member who owns at least 5 more accounts is cheating Rainbet campaign on: November 04, 2025, 05:23:30 PM
Perhaps record is about to be broken  Grin
Some years back, nutildah made a shocking discovery on this thread Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction involving 9 accounts and today at least 5 (and more coming) accounts is caught using similar patterns. Isn't it a shame to be caught this way? I mean they care about the money but they don't care to know about blockchain. Greed does not allow them to realise transactions are transparent in blockchain.

This is always worth rewarding with merits. Perhaps campaigns could incentivize finding cheaters with a small portion of their budget. Excellent work.

If I remember correctly, AB de Royse777 has stated it somewhere that the payment for the cheat account will be given to anyone that caught the cheating account in his campaign.
Having multiple accounts is fine as per forum rule since the forum is not against it but it's stated clearly in every campaign thread never to enroll multiple accounts.
My question is, does this people have life outside the forum at all? How do they cope making posts in every accounts involve to earn weekly payments? Is it that they hire people to make post for them? I'm just curious because I don't think anyone who has life outside the forum would survive operating multiple accounts like 3,4,5 and more.

I feel embarrassed on behalf of them for failing to come here to defend themselves. What a coward attitude  Angry
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 03, 2025, 09:38:34 PM
But one thing I don’t actually agree with or an advice that is yet to sit well with me is to keep emergency funds before investing, while this is a great advice i usually find faults in this advice because to me you cannot actually be able to gather for emergency funds since it’s not a measured thing, rather what I will say is to invest while still saving some funds for emergency that’s the use of discretionary funds and when you get some emergency funds sorted out then you can aggressively buy more bitcoin then

Is there any difference between this? Emergency can not be measured but it can be prepercieve depending on how sensitive someone is. Hands are not equal, some people can not practice the two simultaneously (investing in bitcoin and savings) so it's best for such category of people to save enough money before investing. Investing and saving at the same time is only possible for people that have steady money flow, not the struggling class.

I don't fancy the idea of aggressive buying especially for people just starting their journey, have limited funds and have healthy skepticism on the future of Bitcoin or not willing to hold for long.
5  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcoin Node Challenge feedback on: October 25, 2025, 12:15:24 PM
Adding a poll would have made it easier for people to pick their choice without having to make a post here.

My opinion;
Restricting newbies and Jr member is not a right move in my opinion. The lower rank users already got a lot of restrictions and adding to it seems like attempt to drive them away from this forum.

Option 5 and 7 will give you more work to do by monitoring their sent and received merits. I don't know about your schedule but you shouldn't waste your time on this.

Required a minimum amount of merit in the last 120 days to participate? This will encourage merit trading. The account farmers will easily beat this requirement by trading X amount of merits to account they intend to participate with.

I don't know how other options would help prevent accounts farmers from taking the advantage of the challenge to rank up their accounts.

yahoo62278 just made a perfect suggestion, I seconded.

It's good to reward people for their effort but not when they take your generosity for granted or try to abuse the system. Reduce the amount of merits significantly as suggested by yahoo62278. Interested people can still run the node regardless of the amount of merit involved but account farmers would definitely feel discourage and see it as a waste of time. It's better this way than allowing genuine lower ranks pay for the crime of farmers.
6  Economy / Reputation / Is everything alright with Mitchell? on: October 22, 2025, 07:44:51 PM
I know this is not necessary since everyone has a life outside the forum and they can decide when to come online or how long they can stay offline but I think it calls for attention when a moderator is absent for over two weeks without a word. Mitchell is the newly assigned moderator for the beginners and help board (one of the busiest section of the forum) but he's been offline since on 7th of this month. I noticed this because one of my thread was locked by him so I clicked on his profile and discovered this.

Some users stay away from forum longer than this. I see some users also announce when they are leaving thou this is not a rule. A sudden disappearance of a moderator should always cause alarm in my opinion. I hope everything is fine with him and hope to see him back soon.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Not your keys, not your crypto. Let be guided here please. on: October 21, 2025, 09:30:49 PM
I came across a post on twitter this night. It worth sharing here so everyone of us can take it seriously that "Not your keys, not your coins". Someone complains that the most populous CEX Binance hold his funds ($500k) and suspended his account until he proved the purpose of that huge transaction.

Quote
My @Binance account got restricted  because I moved $500k between my wallet and account

any help please? @heyibinance @cz_binance @BinanceHelpDesk

This was Binance respond when he contacted them for resolution.

https://x.com/notEezzy/status/1980384531841708275?t=YvyIU8p8NJ4oeVelyW-bQg&s=19

At first I thought it was usual content to generate traffic but the official Binance support Twitter responded that they are working on the issue. Then I confirm the authenticity of the story.

I still wonder why people feel comfortable with huge amount resting on exchange wallet knowing fully well that they have no full control of their assets but the exchange does. These guys are not new to crypto, they know the implications of this but yet they choose to know and embrace keeping their assets in exchanges.

If you're reading this now please don't just preach not your keys not your coins, practice it to avoid calling out people to come and rescue you on social media platforms and this forum.

I still can't upload a picture  Angry  Is one merit not longer the requirement to be able to upload images? What am I missing?
8  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] Rainbet.com | Crypto Casino & Sportsbook | Signature Campaign ~ Full+ on: October 15, 2025, 12:27:23 PM
Hello hhampuz, I noticed that you counted the posts but no rewards were processed. Is there a problem with the signature campaign?
I don't want to cause alarm, I just want to understand the situation.

I don't know why I'm beginning to feel like this account is not being operated by the original owner. From my little check you have been in this campaign from 31st weeks until today but you still haven't familiar with the system? This really raise some questions.

You're not new to the forum. This is not the first time payment is delayed for some few hours. Some managers take up to 24 to 48 hours or even longer before processing the previous week payment. It's strange for you to raise this alarm.
9  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: p2p rate changes inappropriately on: October 13, 2025, 02:57:10 PM
There are many exchanges, people should stay away from Bitget.

E be like this thing dey happen for almost every exchanges. I remember someone complaining the same thing about Kucoin exchange when NGN P2P was still active for their platform. This Bitget exchange don get plenty red flag wey go make people abandon them but I don't know why our people still dey use am. I get verified account with them but dem no dey allow me do P2P for the reason I don't know. Since then, I no too get confident on them like other exchange.

You know this thing is unlikely to be noticed because some people no go bother to check the amount displayed in the next page again after seeing the initial amount displayed in the ads page. I go advice make people begin dey do manual calculations to compare wetin show for the P2P and what the manual calculation give them before proceeding. If you press calculator and the money no reach wetin you suppose collect, cancel the trade sharp.

The exchange no too care about the customers. They won't get the problem of displaying ads with fake price fixed as long as e no affect them. We are our own security, we need to be vigilant when trading in any platform because no single of them can be trusted again.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: When Breaking the Rules Becomes Cheaper Than Following Them on: October 09, 2025, 02:35:39 PM
Are you from Africa? Because this is a typical example of what's happening in Africa. Anything man-made is meant to favor one party and harmful to other but natural law is fair for all parties, unfortunately, the evil minds develop the so called law that make way for them as long as they have money. Imagine someone stole billions of money but was fined to pay a unit or few tents of million. Tell me how corruption can be eliminate this way.

Yes, law is meant for the poors that don't have money to pay the fine. Reason why people don't hesitate to make money by all means possible, it gives you freedom that not even law can give you.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Places where you can travel paying with Bitcoin in 2025 on: October 05, 2025, 05:43:03 PM
I'd love this thread to stay alive a bit longer Smiley

Wow, this is a nice thread to help us family with places where we can easily spend our coins when necessary. This thread will serve as a reference for people that love travelling.

To keep the thread alive I made a little research and discovered Maldives but I am yet to see it in this list. Kindly ignore if it has been mentioned already.

MALDIVES

Maldives is a popular nation in Asia that's known for its tourism. Tourism contributes heavily to its economic growth . You can spend your Bitcoin and other crypto assets in some of their hotels and restaurants.

Unfortunately I can't upload pictures.
12  Economy / Reputation / Re: Condoras RIP my friend on: October 05, 2025, 02:07:26 PM
Death is inevitable but it always comes as a shock when it happens especially to our loved or cherished ones. Despite I haven't interact or know this user, I deeply sympathise with the family over this irreplaceable loss and hope things should be easier for them during this hard time.

I'll have a hard time removing you from the campaign sheet.

Is it necessary you removed him? I mean The entire forum is already aware of this incident and no doubt, any post from that account is not from the original user. I see some tags on the account notifying people of his demise and should be aware the account is not longer operated by the owner. How about his wife or someone using the account since the forum is not against account changing ownership (I think) because I believe that money might not be much but it will definitely cover some little expense for the family this trying time. If the new operator prove otherwise (engage in suspicious acts) then you reserve the right to whatever decision you want.
13  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija Novice Hangout {Newbies introduction & Orientation} Thread. on: October 04, 2025, 09:18:40 AM
Reading through this introduction section makes me so happy and gives me this confidence that Nigerian youths are so wonderfully well in terms of learning various skills in addition to the formal normal university education. Assuming our leaders can just be smart to get things working in this country, boys are ready to work and contribute positively to the development of this country. We shall not relent, we must work hard to help ourselves.

Normally 9ja get talent and ready to showcase the talent but our leaders no dey gree give the youths necessary support to boost their confidence. You see how our people dey break break record for international level ehhh na the prove be that say we get talent for this part of the world but leadership system dey fail us. No be only Nigeria but almost all African nations get this problem of bad leadership.

I just hope everything will fall together once again one day. 65 whole years after Independence but there is nothing to point our fingers to and be proud. Na very bad story to narrate but with the kind unity I dey see here, our dream will definitely come true one day and of course, our country Nigeria shall be great again.

One Love!

I assume you're talking about this account?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=3691031

But you should understand that in this case, I meant that the user flagrantly violated the forum rules by registering another account after the first account was completely banned.

Not actually. But I Just checked through the link now and it's entirely a different case since he admitted being old member who's account got banned. It's a deserving tag by the way.

It's quite unsettling to see a newbie who claims to be completely ignorant of the forum's activities or Bitcoin itself (for example) only to start giving out instructions in the next post or posting in threads where merits are often given. To avoid being labeled a liar, you need to live up to your claims from the start.

Lol, this is also a different case because you can't claim to be seeking for knowledge today and start teaching about that same knowledge the next minutes. I have seen such cases too and their previous posts where they claimed to know nothing about bitcoin being digged out to show they're lying. These are understandable scenarios but I have also come across many threads where newbies are being criticised for trying to offer helpful discussions in their threads instead of learning first. People mostly assume that newbie account is tantamount to newbie in this crypto industry and they have nothing to offer.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the best way for a Newbie to join conversation? on: October 03, 2025, 11:18:05 AM
But you would have to be in the forum for some time to understand how things work here. So when you know the forum more than a newcomer people begin to suspect that you have been here for a longer time.

Welcome to the forum.

This is exactly my point here. I have been around here for some time now surfing through threads by threads but I mostly do that without logging in since it always request for my login details and I don't like inputting my details often. So I visit the forum and read some few threads. Of course, I'm suppose to be familiar with this environment after spending more than two years visiting it time to time. Although I am not a fan of politics even in real life but it still unfair for someone to be criticise for knowing too much. Isn't it?

would you mind sharing some of the newbie accounts that got tagged for not acting like a newbie? also, the "tag" you mentioned isn't negative, it seems like it is just a neutral feedback that the user of the account is familiar to the forum.

Unfortunately, I don't keep track of such accounts but I know they exist. The tag is neutral in most cases.

The forum is like any other discussion forum and anyone who's familiar with such other forums won't have problem using this forum either.

I appreciate you all for your contributions. Unfortunately, I can not respond to each replies here but of course, I noticed everything.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / What's the best way for a Newbie to join conversation? on: October 02, 2025, 06:59:11 PM
I have been around this forum for a while now and I noticed the controversies surrounding newbies and their posts. I know it's unnecessary making a posts announcing that you joined the forum. I noticed some posts getting moved/deleted for not adding any value to the forum or for being a repetition of previous threads. Mind you, majority of these deleted threads are from newbies.

On the other hand, I see some newbies account with a tag saying "this user is not a newbie but someone who is familiar with the forum is behind the account". Most of the time, this tags evolved as a result of what they posted on the forum and people feel they don't suppose to know all these simply because they are newbies.

Now, I ask to know which way is the best to join conversation here. Is it ideal for one to hide information here to avoid being tagged or assume as not being a newbie? Pardon my English please but I believe the message is clear a bit.
