[...] It would seem you really like the username because you made an appeal for an account with no rank.

If it was banned, then making another one to just post normally would classify as ban evasion which I personally do not like, hence the appeal, to clear things up and see what happens.

It's possible your ban was a mistake,
No, it is not. Please read the reply above yours. He posted a download link with virus.

As I said. It would be almost impossible to expect a miner to not be heuristically detected by AV as a miner. cpuminer-opt and xmrig has many more warnings and hits, should they also be banned from here along with pretty much 99% of other mining software?
I would expect any cpuminer fork to have similar (we had fewer, and the latest version has even fewer hits) hits than cpuminer itself. Same with xmrig.
Try most of the used GPU or CPU miners on Total Virus and you will see similar results, which you would classify as malicious and with a high potential for a ban.

The truth is you have less chance to get reversal on your ban, since its almost clear that the link you posted has malicious content which will be never encouraged here as far as I know. If you still need the exact answer for the ban then mod who handled the report can only answer it.

Already lot of members suggested the reason for ban can also be added in the banner but its still not considered by admin for some reason but if that gets implemented then surely meta board can avoid lot of threads asking about the reason for ban.

That would make pretty much any miner here impossible to be posted. Like I said, even cpuminer from jdd has more flags than the fork we put, and xmrig has many more, and pretty much any miner that is on the forum will get flagged similarly like srbminer, and gpu miners which all are ok in this case even if they are flagged as malicious. If there is any normal mining software that has 0 flags, please let me know.
To get it past AV you would need to have the binaries signed which as we can see, is not the case with most (pretty much all) mining software.

Why did you use Mega.nz links, for starters?
Most members who spread malware here use Mega.nz, and they get flagged and banned as soon as possible

I agree now that I should have just stuck with pushing files to GitHub release, there is nothing I can do about it now tho :/

Also, I took time to download the Windows file and 39 AV engines flagged as malicious. Now, I know there are some false positives and false negatives when it comes to virus total, but 39/64 AV engines? That's quite a number.

As you can see, most are classified as "Miner" or related. Most are also heuristics looking for mining code, stratum etc.
It has even fewer hits than cpuminer-opt which was used as a base for it (forked).
cpuminer-opt 45/67 https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/5b18ce4d1b344fdd03b46537a29e59569588322ad13faf19cfa97264cc60cb3e
SRBMiner 24/67 (https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/08aa625d9bcfb7627ff67a8b3a8dd0dec7d66b2aaab1dca655972a6251c29418)
XMRIG:  51/67 (https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/e12abacd392970ecd60e3ef32eaad5d17377b29be257ef2a2a1bd4cd2eda6176)

looking at the archive, I see that you posted some download links in your post. were they all virus free?
It can be a reason for a ban if someone finds malicious software in links recommended by you.
Also, right after the subject, you posted donation addresses. of course it's not forbidden, but you sounded like you were begging, and I believe that this only made it easier for the admin to ban you.

otherwise, it was a new account with only one post, so I don't even see a serious reason why the moderators would check your case again. However, you did not contribute to this forum.

At that point, no AV or Windows Defender reported anything about them. The releases started getting flagged by AV after the first RTM boom when more users started using it.
Ye, Mega links might not have been the best idea looking at it right now but never thought it would lead to the ban :/

We discussed it with Ausminer and decided to only put my address in the forum as only his address was set as dev fee in the miner back then.
Yes, account was new as I kinda created it for that purpose. Did not expect that I would need a lot of time or posts on the forum to move forward with posting this

Here's the archived version of the post for anyone who wants to check it out; https://loyce.club/archive/posts/5674/56744281.html

Waiting for an email response or sending a follow up mail might be the best way to go. There you could provide more information on your moniker on git and prove that it's same person on this account.

I wrote an email but got no response whatsoever, hence my try here. I'm more than willing to prove ownership of the GitHub account or other stuff if needed in any way that is acceptable by them

Hello,

I got a tip from someone on the forum that this might be the place to write about it.
Some time ago my account was banned.
I think my only (first post, I think) was when I posted about the new cpuminer fork with improvements to GhostRider algorightm (https://github.com/WyvernTKC/cpuminer-gr-avx2)

It might be that the confusion about potential plagiarism or posting about not my repo was from those points:
1. Repo is maintained by Dev 1 (WyvernTKC / Ausminer).
2. 1st release was pushed to the git fully by him, so there were no real mentions in the code about me, we started working from that point on, I have some DMs or you could even ask him directly if needed. (point 2 should prove it tho)
3. Most of the later changes and releases of the miner were done by me, but the nick of GitHub also does not match my nick here Delgon vs (https://github.com/michal-zurkowski). Some metadata from here on my old account should match the ones on GitHub, I can also prove it some other way if needed.
4. Now looking at release/commits, you can see my contribution but it might have been looking like I did not participate in the project then due to no pushes from me (https://github.com/WyvernTKC/cpuminer-gr-avx2/releases https://github.com/WyvernTKC/cpuminer-gr-avx2/commits/main)

I tried to write a mail before like it was mentioned in the banner when I logged back in but no one ever responded to them.
If possible I would appreciate looking into it and hopefully reversing the ban from that time, I think it was unjustified but maybe I broke some rule that I missed that time.
