1  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: No one is discussing about Pavel Durov Arrest in France Yesterday!! on: September 24, 2024, 08:51:32 PM
We cannot know what the background of the agreement is, but this decision does not mean that the authorities got a backdoor in Telegram and that they will get user data automatically. The right of a country to request such data through court orders is completely legitimate, as is the right of Telegram to reject it if it considers such a request to be unfounded.
I assume that the recent changes in Telegram's rules are a result of the arrest and movement restrictions placed on Pavel Durov. I doubt if he would reject a court judgement from a French court to provide information about a user. He might end up in jail if he does that.

Quote
This forum is also fully compliant with the laws, especially those in the US where the servers are located, which means that the forum has cooperated with the authorities several times and provided them with information about certain users, but it can also refuse any request if it deems that there is no legal basis for it.
In the case of Telegram, it is the court that might request this information. Failure to obey court judgment is a serious crime called contempt of court. A court order is binding on all individuals or organizations within its jurisdiction. The option the platform has in such an event is to appeal such judgment in a higher court and get a restraining order. It might end up becoming a legal battle that might eventually get to the Supreme Court.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Could the constant login request or login interface design contribute? on: September 24, 2024, 03:02:45 PM
Most casinos make logging in very simple especially if you have registered and gone through KYC. The gambling industry is highly competitive because many casinos are willing to give gamblers the best experience. So, I think gamblers might consider switching to another casino because of the difficulty in accessing the platform. Anyway, gamblers will prefer a platform that is fair, trustworthy and entertaining regardless of the rigorous login process.

~snip~
The arrest of Pavel Durov has started yielding fruits for the government. He has agreed to give out the details of users to the government which was against the forum's rules. A search warrant from the police or Court will be enough to mandate Telegram to give out your IP addresses and phone numbers to authorities. With this policy change, users are no longer safe to share their views without fear of intimidation, arrest, or imprisonment.

Forum rules? Maybe you expressed yourself wrong and you mean the previous positions of Telegram, which rejected such requests in the past?
Yeah, I was referring to Telegram as a forum. Maybe I should have called it a social media platform.

Quote
Telegram will probably still retain the right to reject any attempt to identify someone to the authorities only because of their political, religious or similar views.
I doubt if they still have such rights. A warrant of arrest or court order from any influential country requesting the details of a user might be too difficult for Telegram to reject.

Hansi Flick seems to be testing the appearance and talent of the players they took from their academy because Barcelona only has a limited squad and Hansi Flick is trying a strategy so that he can rotate well in many matches of course he does not want his main players to experience fatigue which will ultimately affect their performance this season so if Hansi Flick has many options he will not worry anymore like last season where many Barcelona players were injured and Barcelona also did not have many options and that also caused their performance to be unstable and for this season I think it will belong to Barcelona if the performance remains consistent until the end.
The Barcelona coach is doing a good job. With the knowledge of the financial problems of the club, he decided to grow young players and blend them up with experienced ones. The workload of players in most top leagues is burdensome, and it might lead to fatigue and injuries. Players need to be rotated to reduce the number of games they play. They might not have the privilege of buying more players in the January transfer market, so they need to maximize the talent at their disposal. The club's injury woes last season contributed to their inability to win more trophies but it seems Hansi Flick has the masterplan to make Barcelona more competitive this season.

Playing defensively is the best option for Arsenal to curtail an attacking superpower like Manchester City. How do you expect a team to cope with City with men without playing dirty? I am glad Arsenal at least got a point from all the hard work. City wants to make the EPL similar to the French League, where PSG keeps winning League One. I think Arsenal can win the EPL title this season to put an end to City's dominance. The result of the rematch is unpredictable, but if the Gunners could get a draw with ten men, they have they have the capacity to beat The Cityzens in the Emirate.
City doesn't care about Ligue 1 and PSG's dominance, they achieve their titles in a much more difficult fight and it seems to me that comparing these championships is inappropriate. Perhaps Guardiola would like to win every time with such a huge margin, but it is almost impossible in the Premier League the competition is much higher. I don't know how to explain it, but I do not agree that Arsenal are ready to become champions, a team that defends with the whole team in my opinion is not ready to be a champion.
I was not comparing the French and English League; it's clear that the latter is stronger and more entertaining. Manchester City's dominance of the EPL is making it look monotonous and less exciting. My point is that we need a change to make things look interesting. I don't know why people are criticising Arsenal for packing the bus. It is somehow an impossible task to win or draw against a team like City with one man down. However, I blame Leandro Trossard for his stupid actions that led to the red card. The first yellow card was childish, and the second was careless. Arsenal is set to be crown champions and we saw it in the last game when they were leading the game before the red card.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What laws would you follow when fighting a terrorist organization like Israel? on: September 24, 2024, 06:59:07 AM
So I ask again, What laws would you follow when fighting a terrorist organization such as Israel that is ONLY targeting civilians? That's a tough question, isn't it?
These international laws were enacted to protect innocent citizens from the devastation of conflicts. It was designed for soldiers to face soldiers and not attack civilians. But the US, which claims to be the custodian of human rights, is conniving with a barbaric nation to undermine these laws. Nevertheless, we shouldn't act inhumanely because a set of people choose to behave like wild animals. It might be painful to see you people being slaughtered, and you still decide to abide by the rules of engagement. But I still think that Hezbollah shouldn't cross the red line.

You cannot win a war by killing civilians. An example is the failure of Israel in Gaza. The three goals they claim they want to achieve have been a failure. They wanted to destroy Hamas, free hostages and change the government but they have achieved none.

Once again Arsenal using their dirty strategy to win the match, however Manchester City is great team and always trying to destroy Arsenal's defense, I'm really happy Manchester City not lose in their home.

Don't really expect too much when they meet at Emirates Stadium in the next year, Manchester City will destroy Arsenal.

Anyway nice to see Savinho is getting developed in Manchester City.

What do you mean by dirty strategy? I didn't see anything strange in the match, on the contrary I see Arsenal in a disadvantageous position after playing with 10 palyers and we can imagine how this match would have ended if Arsenal had played with a full squad. As far as I know both coaches are not the type of people who use dirty strategies, they really rely on strategy based on player's ability. I have to say that Manchester City were lucky in this match and not lose all points.

According to the Premier League schedule the rematch between the two teams will take place next year in February and Arsenal as the home team, we can't predict what will happen there because there could be changes in the middle of the season when the transfer window opens. To be honest I personally want to see Arsenal dominate the Premier League this season and I'm tired of seeing Manchester City always at the top of the standings.

When I was told about 400 million naira paid by Heartland FC to take the slot of Beyond Limits FC, I doubted it at first until I was told to look at the 2023/2024 NPFL table, where Heartland spot was found last season's "relegation zone''.

I thought the 400 million offer was all true when I saw the NPFL table last season and the answer Google provided.
I just read through this information... Now lemme get this straight; Heartland FC is a state club and, to the best of my knowledge, so many state clubs come together to form the Nigerian premier league? If yes, what has 400 million and the word "slot" got to do with this statement? Do the NPFL give out limited slots for the state teams as an auction for the highest bidder to claim the spot? I thought they were supposed to choose from the qualifiers or am I missing something here?
Clubs don't buy slots but this case is a special one. A law exists that forbids two or more clubs under one management or ownership to compete in the Nigeria Premier Football League. This is also the case in most football leagues in other countries. Beyond Limits Football Academy and Remo Stars are owned by the same company and both of them are qualified to play in the Nigerian Premier League. One of these clubs will have to relinquish their spot.

The club owners decide that Beyond Limits Football Academy will step down and play in the second division. However, the NPFL is claiming that money didn't change hands between Heartland and the other club since it contravenes the NPFL Framework and Rule. But I also doubt if nothing happened in the secret.

10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why one should apply wisdom when gambling! on: September 23, 2024, 04:28:07 PM

In gambling, you win some and lose some. But in all things, let's strive to make smart decisions and avoid letting greed take over. Cut 1 game out of the 26 I played Yesterday.
If you had won big, I am sure you wouldn't have created this thread. Most people who are criticising you for not cashing out would have celebrated your courage. I think you made a choice but it didn't go as you predicted. I don't believe that there is greed in gambling; all I see is risk-taking. If a gambler decides not to cash out because he wants to win big, that's not greed; it's simply taking a risk. Most big winners in gambling are high-risk takers. My advice is that next time, if you have the urge to cash out, do that without hesitation to avoid regrets.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hezbollah exploding pagers / Was it a false fflag??? on: September 23, 2024, 04:06:11 PM
Literally everybody is pointing fingers at Israel but I haven't seen any news where Israel have come forward to claim that they are the ones responsible for this Hezbollah attack. We know that Israel has existing  crisis with this people, but it has not been ascertain that the explosion of gadgets was done by them. However it is of great importance to Note that if not for this explosions, we wouldn't have known that Hezbollah are carrying and walking around with undercover gadgets for communication for which purpose we don't know.
Do you expect Israel to claim responsibility for such a terrorist act? The plan was executed without consideration of the risk it posed to civilians. Most of these explosions happened in public places and at home, and innocent women and children became victims. Israel has a history of keeping silent after carrying out such attacks. The country's spokesman has the tradition of neither declining nor accepting that they are behind an attack.

The conflict is gradually escalating to a full-blown war. Isreal believes that have weakened Hezbollah so that might want to replicate what they did in Gaza. But they might be in for a big surprise.

That being said, I think I will disregard the information to be all false because a state club funding 400 million naira for a slot in the NPFL, while they couldn't sign many quality players sounds foolish, and unwise acts for any state government to do.

The explanation of how it happened, and why Heartland FC took Beyond Limits FC's spot in the NPFL, you can find the information here
Will the club be able to recover the amount they have used to acquire the slots? I don't think the Nigerian professional league is that lucrative to give a club a profit of such an amount in a season. Maybe the state government just bought the slot for passion or pride for football. The club also invested a good amount in a new coach and some players.

The new coach who was a former Flying Eagles and the Tanzania national team has the list of the club's new players as follows

Quote
Elvis Ori (Bayelsa United), Kelvin Ogunga (Bayelsa United), Udochukwu Anumudu (Abia Warriors), Louis Umoh Anthony (Heartland Feeders), Alex Godwin (Niger Tornadoes), Julius Namitanie (Giant Brillars), Offor Emmanuel Chibueze (Giant Brillars), Adoh Chuks Frank (De First Atlanta FA), Ebuka Nwokoecha (Diamond FA). Others include; Olanrewaju Molade (Giant Brillars), Chukwudi Agor (Giant Brillars), Ikwu Ejike (Rangers International FC), Osinachi Wilson (Eagle Eye), Nnaemeka Christian Nkwo (Giant Brillars), Ezra David (Superstars FA), Uchenna David (Foster FA)
Bobo Chubuike (Dynamic Shuttle), Onuwa Temple Chigozirim (Er7), Chikamso Obasi (De Gideons FA),Nkemakolam Chigozie Godwin (Umuakuma FA),Chukwuma Chinedu (Taiye Academy). Also in the list are; Kelvin Onah (Legacy Stars),Samuel Wisdom (Giant Brillars), Emmanuel Charles (Rangers International FC), Joshua Odo (Rangers International FC), Suraju Lawal (Giant Brillars), Chukwuma Agoha (Brighter Tomorrow FC),Obinna Okere (Brighter Tomorrow), Benjamin Victor (Brighter Tomorrow) and Chukwuma Agor (Brighter Tomorrow).

Building a new team might be complicated. Maybe the players are getting to understand the coach and players, Heartland might improve as they play more games.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: September 23, 2024, 02:30:41 PM
Of course, it might be a domestic tournament or a game for fun, but it is not something that can be considered a sport.
If the sex championship tournament is organized, the civilized countries of the world where open sex is not allowed will not participate and they will not make it universal.
Also casinos and gambling sites will never legitimize it and I see no reason to include it on their website.  But if it goes public in the future, maybe casinos and gambling sites will allow Sex Championship tournaments.
Even without the permission of the Swedish Sports Federation the organisers still went ahead with the competition. Participants from around the world have already been named.
Quote
Ann Joy (Finland), Selva Lapiedra (Spain), Sexy Lexy (Portugal), Monsieur Lorenzo Viota (France), Nek Sinner (Greece), Matthew Meier (Ukraine), Barbie Sins (Great Britain), Mister Riddle (Russia) and Sweet Mery (Croatia), Mugur (Romania)
The rules and scoring template have already been published on several platforms. But the competition ended up in disaster. The judges didn't show up, living conditions were poor, one contestant complained of harassment from the organisers, and there was also disagreement about payments. The contest that was meant to last for six weeks ended in two days. All participants abandoned the competition and went back to their countries.

14  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Court freezes N548.6 Million belonging to ‘ByBit, KuCoin’ Nigerian crypto users on: September 23, 2024, 01:37:55 PM
The Nigerian government has fined Binance and so has the Indian government if I remember correctly and now the Nigerian government is trying to do the same with other exchanges ByBit, KuCoin.

You are correct. The government have recently received a court order to freeze about $330,000 belonging to traders in Kucoin and Bybit exchanges. Beside their cliams that these platforms are the cause of currency fluctuation the government also told the court that these platforms as re used for criminal activities. Unlike Binance, these exchanges are still operating, but they might soon be shut down by the government. These platforms might end up leaving the Nigerian crypto sector instead of paying high fines.
15  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija Hospital don ban crypto mining during work hours on: September 22, 2024, 06:49:10 PM
The title is confusing unless you read the content. This does not fall under crypto mining directly because most people that does not read the content could have first thought of PoW and the use of hospital electricity. All the tapping projects fall under play-to-earn (P2E) and airdrops.
You are right, the ops failed to mentioned airdrop telegram tapping, and he mentioned crypto mining as if those airdrops are actually related to anything mining, he should have better made the title to be, either hospital ban telegram taping game during work hours in Gombe.
@Charles-Tim's remark was associated with the title of the thread. Hence, the caption has been edited accordingly; I don't think there is any need to keep repeating the observation. You should have confirmed the title before making your comments.
16  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Court freezes N548.6 Million belonging to ‘ByBit, KuCoin’ Nigerian crypto users on: September 22, 2024, 01:37:44 PM
There are two possibilities, either the government is incredibly stupid or they want to blame their economic failure, waste of the country's resources and devaluation of the Naira on these exchanges.
When they mismanage the economy they end up looking for what to blame for their failure. My country's politicians once blamed immigrants for the poor economic conditions. They began to make police to restrict immigrants but it yielded no economic benefit. So it is not strange that they are blaming cryptocurrencies for the financial woes of the West African country.

Quote
The other possibility is that they want to fill the government coffers (or their own pockets) by accusing the exchanges of blackmailing them with huge fines.
I knew that the fine placed on Binance by the US would have a ripple effect on other countries. Maybe the government of Nigeria thought they could also get millions of dollars from the exchange through fines. The reason why the government is still detaining Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan might be to arm-twist Binance to pay the fine.

The last penalty is really a disgrace and why the referee awarded it is unclear, because Real would have won this match anyway, but there
The penalty was controversial because it seemed like Endrick fell with his leg outside the box. However, a closer look at the foul shows that Espanyol defender Carlos Romero kept holding the Brazilian striker inside the penalty box until he fell. We will have to blame Romero more for being insensitive. A good defender would have brought the striker down outside the box or let him go immediately after he got closer to the penalty area—generally referees like favouring big clubs and respect their players more than small clubs. There are reports that Jude Bellingham called the referee a piece of shit when he was booked. And the official refused to escalate the matter which would have led to a red card.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2024/25 on: September 22, 2024, 07:28:54 AM
Vinicius Junior is an important player in Real Madrid in last four years and it's not surprised to see Vinicius made great impacts after joining the match as a substitution. Mbappe can be considered as a biggest star player in Real Madrid but there are other attacking players who are not too low under Mbappe in quality and contributions. Vinicius and Rodrygo are ready to support Mbappe but also are able to challenge a biggest star player position in Real Madrid.

Ancelotti is very cleverly to combine these players and he also tries to give chance for a youth player Endrick to play in La Liga when possible. It is a good management from Ancelotti to grow up Endrick in a similar way that was used for Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo some years ago.
The challenge Real Madrid will always face is Carlo Ancelotti's ability to combine these goal-hungry and personal award-hungry players. I have predicted that the same disorganization that PSG suffered might surface in the best club in Europe. But it seems the experienced coach has been able to manage the situation for now. Bringing in Vinicius Junior and Endrick was beneficial because we saw their immediate impact in the match. Mbappe is still trying to find stability in a team with a few shots that were saved by the goalie. But, there is a good synergy between these key players; if it continues, Real will be unstoppable.

The goal margin is massive but Espanyol showed some great attacking runs that would have produced more goals. You wouldn't know that they were just promoted to the first division. If they continue this way, they might be able to make it a European competition if they are lucky.

People say life is not fair but i would say life is very fair.
Life is not really fair. Is life fair to people in wartorn countries where they lack the opportunity to start any business or earn a living? Do you think life is fair to people who live in a fantastically corrupt nation where they have to pay bribes and lick ass to start and run businesses? Is life fair to countries that are challenged by systematic tribalism or racism, where you will have to come from a powerful tribe to survive?

Success is a combination of providence and utilization opportunities. On the path to success, you need hard work, determination, and risk-taking to make it to the top. But don't ever think that the rich are smarter or more hardworking than the poor. The difference might be environment, time and chance. That is why we have more Billionaires in the US than in other parts of the world. But this doesn't dispute the fact that you can be successful anywhere.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government of Bhutan Holds $828M in Bitcoin. on: September 22, 2024, 05:30:18 AM
For a landlocked country that depends on agriculture and aid to survive, Bitcoin mining is a good means of diversification of its economy. It has a surplus power generation that is even exported to India, which means that Bitcoin mining is a good option. Not selling the coins they have mined might be an indication that they have the long-term knowledge of investing in the sector. The Kingdom of Bhutan might not be a big country, but it is a plus to the Bitcoin ecosystem to see nations that are genuinely investing instead of waiting for seizures.
